Thought we'd go with twinklytoes suggestion since she's gone and got herself admitted to hospital in a desperate bid for attention .

Have left everyone on the stats for now, but will do another cull of deserters soon....
(and apols if I've missed off any of the recent joiners)

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
ajm200 · 23/09/2008 15:43

I've had some clary sage and lavender from nealsyardrememedies.com, it seems to be good quality, makes me drowsy and although the CS smell is unusual it is not unpleasant. It was expensive though. Also bought some from boots, it was much cheaper but smelt a bit odd and didn't seem to work as well.

ajm200 · 23/09/2008 15:45

You only put about 6 drops in a deep bath. If you are reluctant to bathe in it. Mix about 4 drops with 20ml of almond oil and rub it into your tummy.

ajm200 · 23/09/2008 15:58

Premixed labour massage oil [http://www.birthease.co.uk/birthease_shop/Labour-Massage-Oil.shtml?gclid=CIqy0ISW8pUCFQgrlAodqQ0dfg here] for only 4.99. I have some, it's nice but at that price many not contain much of the oils needed to get you into labour.

07mumstheword · 23/09/2008 16:40

myjob how cute. It makes me very excited to hear of these births and to see pictures makes it seem more real.

CSWS I placed an order for Amtico flooring just last week with an independent company. I've just checked what area you live in but probably no good for you as we are in Bristol. John Lewis are always a bit pricey perhaps with the credit crunch they'll have to re-think there ways.

Bethoo Takeaway enjoy and cross your legs until afterwards

Perky I had Sainsburys deliver today - this online shopping is great

I didn't get back to bed whilst DD out but I have emptied & cleaned my understairs cupboards and sorted more baby stuff

jenwa · 23/09/2008 17:38

hedgepig thinking you look low but I am not really that good at things like that!!!

bethoo meant to say "wow" about you having a date, he is obviously very brave and not worried that you will go in to labour! But hey a bit of rumpy pumpy may bring it all on Of course I am not saying you should on your first date but if it helps and he is willing then baby may arrive soon!!! [wink}

ajm200 · 23/09/2008 17:45

Hedgepig, not too sure. Looks fairly high to me but you haven't posted an earlier bump picture for comparison.

ronshar · 23/09/2008 17:54

Hedgepig, sorry love looks high to me. But then 2nd babies tend to drop and deliver.
I am going to try & work out how to put pictures on my profile. So you can all see my old overcooked baby when it finally arrives

bethoo · 23/09/2008 17:57

you are all so supportive - not too sluttish if we get on and things lead to things??? protected of course! at least i get a free meal out of it if we are not attracted to each other!

hedgepig another compact bump to me! ant tell inteh shirt you are wearing but prob high but it may just be the way you carry, you may not drop til you are actually in labour.

rosebury · 23/09/2008 18:05

Evening ladies I am feeling a bit rough today so stayed in be until 11am lots of bhs and pressure feelings for the first time today I actually thought that it is now time for baby to arrive as i have had enough now everything is just so difficult to do and I miss my feet.

Mw came today all is well but she is coming again on Friday as she is going away on holiday my bp is slightly up and everything is swollen my body has simply had enough now.

Another issue is that a close relative of dh has died and the funeral is on Monday two hundred miles away he could do the whole thing in one day but what are the chances of me having the baby on that day, we will make a decision nearerthe time but I would be due in less than one week from then.

sorry to be a bit down but i would like my baby now so that I can have my body back.

ajm200 · 23/09/2008 18:10

Rosebury Sorry to hear about your awful day.

ajm200 · 23/09/2008 18:11

Added a photo of my 36 week bump to my profile as everyone else seems to have them already. It looks higher in the photo than in real life.. but I'm no photographer

bethoo · 23/09/2008 19:18

ajm your bump is lying low. another nice neat bump.

star6 · 23/09/2008 19:28

Oh bethoo, is that tonight?? What fun!
Loving the bump photos!! I want to take another... it keeps growing every day it seems. I hope it stays quite warm over the next 3 weeks as all of my maternity tops are short sleeved!! I wore a stretchy non maternity top today just because it was 3/4 length sleeved and felt like a whale.

Been having nightmares about the birth... I was up every hour last night in a cold sweat and out of breath. DH didn't sleep well either... poor thing.

bethoo · 23/09/2008 19:32

it is tomorrow night so if i am on line tomorrow night it did not go well
now all i have left to do now is hoover the house, lay down a rug in living room to hide the multitude of sins and attack the kitchen again, i do it daily but still looks a mess even though it is a minimilist kitchen!
i have big jumpers given to me so i wear them then when baby is born will give them to recycling.
does anyone know what actually happens to recycled clothes? do they get destroyed or sent overseas to third world countries?

star6 · 23/09/2008 19:37

When you're about to go into labour does the baby move more or less?

bethoo · 23/09/2008 19:40

i found that at the beginning he moved alot as was getting into position but then after taht once labur starts you do not really notice

star6 · 23/09/2008 19:42

I thought clothing recycling involved recycling the material to make into new materials...? I use freecycle.

bethoo · 23/09/2008 19:44

buggar, i have been recycling decent clothes, some unworn!

07mumstheword · 23/09/2008 19:45

Advice Please.......

I'm getting really bad pains in my groin sometimes stopping me from walking. Also when I go to the loo I get a sensation that I need to push. Anyone else getting this? Does it mean anything?

bethoo · 23/09/2008 19:48

same here! pressure from babys head i imagine on the bladder and rectum.
i am not getting excited about it as i just know i am going to go over, the past 8 months have flown and now it is going to drag!

CantSleepWontSleep · 23/09/2008 19:59

mtw - someone else had a thread asking the same thing earlier this evening (bluejellie iirc)! General opinion was just head engaging, and nothing to worry about.

OP posts:
star6 · 23/09/2008 20:02

don't take my word for it, bethoo... that was a guess

07mumstheword!!!! CALL the midwife!!! I have NO IDEA what's going on... but it sounds suspicious to me. I'd be on the phone with the hospital! sensation you need to push... I've NEVER had this...so I'd assume it has something to do with oncoming labour.

ajm200 · 23/09/2008 20:08

07Mumstheword. How exciting.. maybe another LO on the way into the world

How long have the pains been going on for?
Do they come and go?
Have you tried timing them to see if they are in a regular pattern?

If they are very irregular, they may just be the baby dropping into your pelvis but any sensation that you need to push should be checked out.. maybe you are in labour and its going quickly.

star6 · 23/09/2008 20:08

ok sorry... obviously I over reacted to your sensations mumstheword. sorry!!!

ajm200 · 23/09/2008 20:09

I do like a good labour watch
