Thought we'd go with twinklytoes suggestion since she's gone and got herself admitted to hospital in a desperate bid for attention .

Have left everyone on the stats for now, but will do another cull of deserters soon....

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
perkypopsy · 23/09/2008 09:01

Morning everyone, bloody hell these babies are popping ot all over the place - I'm going to be one of the last rather than the first at this rate .

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE NEW MUMS (OOPS CAPS LOCK STILL ON). So exciting - can't wait to be a mum too YIKES!!!

In second blissful week of mat leave - getting used to relaxing slowly but surely - confessed to DH that I'd laid in bed til 11am yesterday and he said "make the most of it cos you won't have a lie in again for a very long time" . Totally naive I know but I was totally stunned ha ha - so am here again resting up - reading all your posts while tucked up under the duvet .

Less than a week to go (hopefully) - have counted all of the last 39 weeks obsessively so is really weird to say - I'm due next Monday FUUUUUUUCK and YAY!

Bethoo your back sounds terrible - hope you mnage to get a bit of QT on the sofa (with or without Paddy ).

Ronny hope you manage to keep your legs crossed a little while longer - I told you you'dbe next - my friend had her third in the QE2 car park . Am crossing my fingers that the birthing unit at Harlow is open when I go in. A friend had to go in the normal ward last week cos they were short staffed - I have a feeling it is closed more often than is open - what a waste of a lovely new building! .

KSal Congrats yay yay - how was Lister? What did you do to bring the birth on? Have been drinking RLT, bouncing on ball, bathing in clary sage oil and lavender and going for long walks and swims - the walking is actually a bit difficult now cos it brings the BH on loads.

ajm200 · 23/09/2008 09:06

MTW sounds like nesting to me.. What I don't get is why the energy rush always hits in the late evening or middle of the night and not during the day when you need it most..

WombFor1More · 23/09/2008 09:09

perky - I don't think these babies have read the list!! Get in line

Feels like I'm going to be pregnant forever at this rate. Was worried that I stil don't have everything ready but now I just don't care, I've had enough. Thought something was happening last night. Had awful backache from early eve and couldn't stop peeing! Just felt weird, so I cleaned my bathroom top to bottom then had a bath but woke up this morning very disappointed

Ay well best go get on with the jobs I still haven't done. Nothing too important, only washing all crib & moses basket badding and all of his clothes then setting everything up

07mumstheword · 23/09/2008 09:26

ajm Yes strange that isn't it why can't I have my energy now?

DD is off to grandparents at 11 so I'm thinking I might go back to bed for an hour Good on you Perky you should make the most of this peaceful time.

perkypopsy · 23/09/2008 10:09

I know what you mean w41m - I am full of energy ready for the baby but then with me i get knackered later on and start thinking oh god I hope it doesn't come tonight - I need some kip ha ha

07MTW am finally up- mr tesco arriving - am getting used to this lazy lifestyle - hope DH doesn't think am ging back to old ways after minipops arrives...

accessorizequeen · 23/09/2008 11:27

Oh, wow, lots of new babies! Congrats all Wish I could make an announcement myself re: twins but despite a few hours of contractions last night they're not here yet. at Ronshar & Jenwa tracking me down elsewhere...I do have an induction booked on my due date but hoping they'll arrive on their own. No reason for them to come early, it's just that most of them do, I am an exception I was told yesterday by dr

Hope all babies arrive safely whether early or late Enjoy the last few days of peace, I am despite the discomfort/pain/whatever...

Gorgeous myjobismum!!!
I just can't believe how teeny tiny little newborns are... I can't believe they are going to let me take it home from the hospital. Absolutely amazing. Congratulations

WheresTheAuPair · 23/09/2008 12:46

ahh congrats myjobismum she's beautiful. Can't believe how many are early!

Sat here today with stinking cold so me and DS (also full of cold) are having PJ day with far too much cbeebies and toast

bethoo · 23/09/2008 12:48

myjobismum such beautiful piccies, have tears in my eyes (must be hormones ) i just want mine now!!!
i am not too keen on this waiting around lark! would prefer another induction, at least i would know when it is happening. i ma one of those lucky ones in which the induction worked and i had baby on day i went in! though i was on for 3 days due to ds blood sugar not regulating etc.
just done on line shop for Tescos so feeling chuffed about that.
talk about energy i have cleared garden of dog poo > and mowed the lawn >>
date is coming over on Wednesday with a take away > what an impression i gave! sods law will go into labour tonight or tomorrow morning now!
off to a friends house once picked up ds from cm, yes i am still dropping him off there whilst on annual leave, have youi tried to tidy with a destructive 18 month old undoing all your work??
so may do some polishing now before picking him up!
slumming it in trackies today and not helped by mega breakout on face! spots everywhere, i know i should not have squeezed them!!!
that was longer thatn intended, sorry if it bored you!
oh and wonder how snowy is

star6 · 23/09/2008 12:58

Does everyone "drop" just before they are about to have their baby? My bump hasn't really dropped... everyone keeps telling me how high it is and asking me how many weeks I have to go. When I tell them I'm 37 weeks, they look .
All I want is a little warning (like maybe a day even?). So if the baby is going to drop down a bit before I go into labour, then that will be helpful...

bethoo · 23/09/2008 13:07

star i did not drop at all with ds, my bump never changed and it is the same again. i just think different bodies hold babies differently.

CantSleepWontSleep · 23/09/2008 13:12

No dropping yet here star, and seem to recall my bump being pretty much the same shape last time too.

Lovely pics myjob .

Had a productive morning driving around looking at driveways done by a company that we are thinking of using (getting imprinted concrete), and researching flooring and paint options for dd's new room and hall stairs and landing. We'd had a quote from John Lewis for an amtico floor which was staggeringly high, so I went to rant at them about that, but they weren't bothered that they wanted to charge me twice as much for the tiles as I can get them from elsewhere . Needless to say, they won't be getting my business, so was looking at other options and saving myself lots of money .

bethoo - stick some sudocreme on your spots - surprisingly good.

Still not the remotest sign of imminent labour here, but I'd quite like him to hang on until next week anyway, as it's dh's b'day on Saturday (and we're having a nice dinner out) and MIL's on Monday.

ajm200 · 23/09/2008 13:14

Myjob Congratulations. You have such cute children. Can't believe how small your DD is. She's like a little doll.

Star Your baby might not drop until you go into labour. It depends on how baby is comfy.

My bump had dropped a few weeks ago but has gone down even further over the last few days. Guess that was what all the BHs were about. Much lower and baby will fall out. Have a perfect football, 3 handwidths below my bra line and as I'm only 5.5 that's pretty low.

Just been to my friends, she has two DCs one of whom is a toddler 3 months older than DS. Her house was so tidy and her DS puts plays with one thing at a time and puts toys away after him.. I wish it would rub off on my boy. I can barely see that carpet in here for toys. Off to do some tidying and cleaning..

hedgepig · 23/09/2008 13:56

Congrats Myjob she is a real cutie pie

I don't know if my bump has dropped it seem to have more changed shape. Lying in bed this morning it seems to have disappointed into me, if that makes any sense.
I've just had a lovely lady round to give me a pregnancy massage which was really nice, but my head kept whirring with all the things I need to do.

ronshar · 23/09/2008 14:42

Just back from the midwife. Baby is in the perfect position. I now dont go back until 41 weeks. 41 weeks!!! I said to the midwife I want baby out by then. She laughed at me. Apparently with my history of two very overdue babies there is no point doing a sweep until at least 41+3/4, as it probably wont work.
She told me to keep as active as I can. Bugger, I was hopeing that this was going to be over soon. I dont want another month of all this pain and uncertainty. Also I would like to be able to get out of bed without sounding like a Hippo.

Sorry moaning loads.

ajm200 · 23/09/2008 14:50

Ronshar, good news about baby. Shame they expect you to go overdue. You could try reflexology, even if it doesn't move baby you get a nice foot massage.

I've got two NHS sessions booked, next week, officially full term and again at 39 weeks. Does your hospital offer it?

jenwa · 23/09/2008 14:54

Ahhhh. lovely pics myjob. Cant wait until its my turn now!
Had some cramps last night, got bad back pains and cramping but under my bump, not sure if its babys head pushing right down or a sign of something else!

People say I have dropped but I dont actually feel any different. I do think baby has moved down as feet are now kicking lower and groin is uncomfortable but bump still seems the same.

Got DRs tomorrow as MW fully booked, will see if head is engaged hopefully. Am ready for baby to arrive, have been on my hands and knees washing bathroom floor last night after the bath relieved my backache. Was really achey again this am.

Not very motivated now, need to iron but cant really be bothered!

accessorizequeen sorry for tracking you down, hope you did not mind, just hoping you are well. Glad you are managing to keep them snug in there as long as poss, hope all goes well and you dont have to have your induction, get srubbing the floors although I have difficulty with 1 baby inside me!!! Having to put pants and socks on really akwardly!

hedgepig at your massage......how lovely that would be. Can imagine though that when you do get chance to sit still your head is still racing! At least you only thought it though and got a massage with it

ronshar · 23/09/2008 14:56

Not sure. I had a session last Friday. Another one booked for the 3rd.

Raspberry leaf caps already half way through tub. Evening Primrose, tick. Tried sex, all I got was spotting, peasky cervix.
DH isnt that taken by the whole nipple stimulation thing, it always leads to sex in my house and he is rapidly feeling like demands are being made of him which he may not be up to fulfilling I shall have to do it myself.
It looks like I am going to have to get off my ass and do some walking

ajm200 · 23/09/2008 15:08

Anyone desperate to have their baby can borrow my toddler for a few hours.

Between picking him after his various mishaps. Tidying away two toy chests of disgarded toys on my hands and knees and making about 20 trips up and down stairs trying to settle and obviously overtired boy into bed for his nap, I'm now have loads of BHs and cramping going on...

Why did I want two children again?

sambrads · 23/09/2008 15:14

oh ronshar you etter get walking to get that baby out would hate to go over again !!!!!

i have been reading about clary sage and lavender oil in bath seems to do the trick think i will try it after saturday it says in big bold letters DONT USE IN PREGNANCY so it must be good

hedgepig · 23/09/2008 15:16

because you like the challenge jenwa
just posted a new bump picture on my profile, do we think it is high or low??

ajm200 · 23/09/2008 15:16

I've been using a drop or two of clary sage on a hankie by the bed to get a good nights sleep. It worked really well in the early days, stopped when I read the label properly but did try some in the bath at the weekend. It did seem to get the contractions to intensify for a while... has a very distinctive smell though..

hedgepig · 23/09/2008 15:17

sorry ajm not jenwa brain is jelly today got to go nd get the boy from school

sambrads · 23/09/2008 15:22

ajm were do you buy it??

i know this might sound silly to you all but i would be afraid of it giving me an infection or something if i put itin the bath

myjob she is so so cute and tiny
