Thought we'd go with twinklytoes suggestion since she's gone and got herself admitted to hospital in a desperate bid for attention .

Have left everyone on the stats for now, but will do another cull of deserters soon....

good vibes being sent your way myjob.
right i am of all those progressing. i want my baby sooner than later....

1sttimer80 · 20/09/2008 23:01

myjobismum you must be so excited, get rest and let us know tomorrow morning!!! Good luck!

bethoo me too!!! I've been having crampy feelings for the last week now but nothing has progressed I can't wait although a bit nervous about the pain part!!

1sttimer80 · 20/09/2008 23:02

p.s. sorry for tmi but has everyone started leaking breast milk yet? I'm 38+2 and have nothing

bethoo · 20/09/2008 23:06

i only leak if i try to express manually so nothing to worry about, some people leak some dont

Aubergenie · 20/09/2008 23:16

Sending positive vibes your way myjob. How exciting!

Congratulations iuseantiageingstuff and Ksal. Hope you're all doing well.

I've had my first day of feeling really uncomfortable today and it's dawned on me finally that I'm actually having a baby soon. Starting to feel really nervous and have packed and unpacked my hospital bag several times. Are other people feeling the same way?

star6 · 21/09/2008 07:12

This baby usually wakes me up at 4am wriggling and kicking... he didn't do that today and while I was appreciative, he still didn't move when I got up.. then when I got a drink of water... still not after some food. I tried pushing him around with my hands - nothing! Finally I felt the slightest little wriggle - waiting for more now. is that something you'd call the hospital for?

Also - how much does the placenta and fluid weigh? I've gained 10 lbs from pre pregnancy to now (37 weeks) and I'm scared about the weight of the baby (I think this measuring small thing is still in the back of my mind). I want him to be healthy!

star6 · 21/09/2008 07:14

bethoo I hope your baby is on her way! Do you have spd? I don't know anything about it but when you said you could barely walk, that's what people usually say about it.

CantSleepWontSleep · 21/09/2008 08:06

Ooh exciting myjob - best of luck.

Star - no I wouldn't call the hospital about that. I would wait for a few hours and see if you feel anything. 10 movements over the course of a day is fine, whether they are at your 'normal' time or not.

ajm200 · 21/09/2008 08:08

Good luck myjob.. I hope you have a quick and easy labour. you are so lucky that your waters went in the kitchen, much easier to clean up.

Bethoo. I hope your baby is on its way now too.

CantSleepWontSleep · 21/09/2008 08:12

Thanks So according to that... my baby weighs.... nothing?
or maybe 1 lb because my breasts didn't grow.
Baby is moving loads now!! Thank goodness. I think he just had a lie-in laughing at myself now... oh if you could have seen this... bouncing on ball, bending at waist, pushing with hands, drinking cold water, wiggling side to side... luckily dh still sleeping and didn't witness all that!

star6 · 21/09/2008 08:19

oh yes! myjob - congrats on waters breaking!!! And PERFECT place to be for clean up purposes, as ajm said I hope that your labour is quick and can't wait to hear your birth announcement! How exciting!

twinklytoes · 21/09/2008 09:03

thanks for all the congrats. as some of you have picked up three weeks confined to a post natal ward hasn't been good but I'll save the moans for another thread or I'll be scaring you all

ds is still in scbu but we think he may get discharged tomorrow as they are only feeding and changing him now and I can do that at home. Took our bottles in yesterday so he can get used to them - was going to bf but life on post-natal put me off big time. I just want my baby home without any return admissions because of severe weight lost.

have popped a pic on profile if you want to take a peak.

CantSleepWontSleep · 21/09/2008 09:24

Awwwwwww twinkly .

Just put a pic of bump taken last night on profile.

s cute twinklytoes!
Beautiful csws!

star6 · 21/09/2008 09:37

csws I can't believe you're still dressing so nicely at 38 weeks! Good for you!
I'm the laziest girl in the world... live in sweats, jeans and cargoes and maternity t shirts (cargoes at work - luckily I teach young children and have an excuse!) I did wear a skirt on two days when I had to do a presentation for parents and was very put out by having to do that!

Alexa808 · 21/09/2008 10:04

Thanks star6: am glad I'm not alone. We so wanted a baby. But we never thought we'd get our wish so soon after TTC

Sambrads: thanks for your kind words. I have to focus on why we wanted to TTC to remind myself.

At the near bottom of this page is a weight calculator for pregnant ladies: www.baby2see.com/pregnancy_weight_calculator.html

Fab site for other stuff, too.

Awww, twinkly, how cute is your ds!!

Aubergenie · 21/09/2008 10:04

Twinklytoes. Sounds like you've had a tough time. You must be desperate to take your little boy home. Fingers crossed that tomorrow's the day.

Star - if you're worried about the baby's movements just make a note of them and as long as you've got 10 over the course of 12 hours, then you don't need to worry.

Have a good day ladies!

WheresTheAuPair · 21/09/2008 10:06

oo how exciting myjobismum hope all goes smoothly

bethoo i'm with you on the barely able to walk thing- the pain in my groin/inner legs/back is extreme. I spend a large portion of last night awake and unable to get in a comfy position. Gave up in the end and logged on to computer at 4am to do some work! Its wierd tho as sometimes I can stand with no pain and then other times it is excruciating. I never had this with DS as he never engaged. Midwife says this ones head is fully engaged so I'm guessing this is the cause! can't believe I have another 4 weeks of this to go - and that's with section at 38 weeks!

awww twinkly so cute!

In my desperation to get to sleep last night I had a flick through 'Gina Ford contented toddler book' (freebie with online baby order) and found a section on coping with baby and toddler-a lot made sense but phew I felt exhausted just reading her suggested routines! Think our routine will involve much less rushing around and getting dressed at 8.30 -out at 9.30 etc. (btw am not opening GF debate here lol).

A lot of the advice was v. sensible but it brought home the reality that i will have TWO to deal with in under a months time!

Think my brain has forgotten how much work babies are- I'm in denial and just remember DS sleeping loads and cuddles on demand! [smile}

ajm200 · 21/09/2008 10:39

Twinkly - what a cutie.. you must be so proud.

According to that pregnancy weight calculator, I weigh over 8kg (17lbs) less than I should. Baby is measuring over the dates so it shows what how fat I must have been before getting pregnant... been losing mummy blubber instead of gaining baby blubber. Maybe I can look forward to a new smaller wardrobe postbirth... cool

Been having what I hope are BHs every 2 hours for the past 36. They don't seem to be getting closer or stronger but are in a regular pattern and fairly strong.. Was up until 3am last night and timed them.. hubby is now panicking as his special work project is due to complete this week..

Child free day... yessss!

Hiyal all,

Congrats to ksal and iuseangeingstuff, hope you're both well. twinkly - very cute baby by the way.

have put a couple of pics on my profil eof joe - looking blue under the lights and of the whole family together. T

he docs have let us come home for the afternoon as Joe is off all lights as a trial to coming home soon. However, i have noticed he is looking really yellow and i am due to go back tonight for more blood tests so i think i'll head back now as i don't want him to get too jaundiced....

Hope you're all well and will catch up again soon

ronshar · 21/09/2008 16:51

Congratulations to Ksal and iuseantiageing. Fantastic news on the safe delivery of your little beans.

Loulou, its great that little Joe is getting stronger. A home visit must be a real treat for him.

Myjob, brilliant waters breaking. I am so . How are you getting on now? Is the baby here yet.

Bethoo, not only are you my Due date buddy we seem to be going through the same aches and pains! I had almost convinced myself yesterday I was in labour. A good nights sleep has told me otherwise. Although I am getting exactly the same pains, tightenings etc today!
I convinced DH to go for a nice walk along the beach. The girls had their scooters! Lovely we went for ice-cream after.

CantSleepWontSleep · 21/09/2008 17:14
