Thought we'd go with twinklytoes suggestion since she's gone and got herself admitted to hospital in a desperate bid for attention .

Have left everyone on the stats for now, but will do another cull of deserters soon....

sambrads · 18/09/2008 07:59

forgot to sat hope your doing ok to twinkletoes and getting plenty of rest so you will be in good shape for that little one coming home take care

star6 · 18/09/2008 08:02

Congrats twinklytoes!!!!!
I'm glad he's doing well now. Wow, good thing you got him out when you did... how much would he have weighed at full term?

07mumstheword · 18/09/2008 08:48

Gosh just catching up from yesterday afternoon onwards to find lots of signs and an actual birth

Many congratulations Twinkly you sound tired so make sure you get plenty of rest and I hope Samual will be home with you very soon. And I agree what a weight for arriving so early

Star Phone your midwife today and re-arrange your appointment, they messed it up and as a worrier you need the reassurance.

I had MW appointment yesterday and all ok. I'm getting really scared about labour I know it'll be alright but I know it's gonna hurt

Aubergenie · 18/09/2008 08:52

Congratulations Loulou and Twinkly on your new arrivals!!

Lozza ? Sorry to hear you?re disappointed about your induction. I?ve missed out on some of the thread. Was it your liver function causing problems in the end? Good luck with all the induction stuff!!

Spink ? Brilliant news that you?re expecting again! I?m so glad you didn?t have to wait too long.

I?m off to the hospital now for my regular twice weekly monitoring. I had raised ALT levels which have now come down to the top of the normal range and I want to try and convince them that I?m now low risk enough for them to let me have my baby in the midwife led unit (and hopefully the pool), as opposed to being constantly monitored. Somehow, I don?t think they?re going to go for it. Wish me luck!

Mmmm cake! I?ve got loads of apples from our tree. I think I might have to unleash my inner domestic goddess when I get home?
xx

star6 · 18/09/2008 08:52

I got another appointment today for 5.10 - just called when they opened this morning. They apologized for scheduling me an appointment when they were closed!! I think nhs hates me!

ajm200 · 18/09/2008 08:53

Congratulations twinklytoes! What a good weight for 35 weeks. Imagine if he'd gone to 42 weeks Hope he's home with you soon.

hedgepig · 18/09/2008 09:43

twinklytoes congratulations and fantastic weight. I'm sure he will be home soon.

Aubergine, if they say you really do need CFM it may be worth asking if the have a telemetric monitor. It's a wireless one so you can move about more, I just found out about it in my hosp as I'm discussing VBAC deliveries.
Could you cross your fingers for me today ladies? I have to go for a scan for fluid levels and placental function later today. Last pg I had no fluid which was one of the reasons for the emerg cs I had. I'm trying not to stress about this afternoon but I'm struggling already and it's only 1/4 to 10!

4andnotout · 18/09/2008 10:22

Congatulations twinkletoes
Dp came home from hospital last night which was a relief, now he has a whole stack of procedures to be done as an outpatient! My parents are taking the 2 bigger girls away tonight for the weekend, so it will give us bit of a rest although we will still have dd3 who will be 1 on saturday
Aiming to get all the baby stuff out and re washed at the weekend, will probably pack the hospital bag too which im quite excited about.

hedgepig · 18/09/2008 10:44

that must be a relief to have him home, its sunny today you might even get some washing dry!

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 18/09/2008 11:44

huge congrats twinklytoes!!

and flipping heck sambrands....are we to have another october baby when we're barely half way through september? just to exciting!!

turns out I've been taking double doses of RLT tablets by mistake (didn't bother to read the packaging!) for about a week....ooops, not felt any different BO wise or anything, though pelvic pain has increased suddenly since taking them, they won't cause early labour will they?

bethoo · 18/09/2008 11:44

congrats twinkly and glad that it all went well. and wow what a weight! he would have been a biggun!
only a day left at work! might be tempted ot go swimming though embarrassed of my size and the fact cellulite has taken over my arse and thighs!
what am i going ot do for two weeks before my due date???

rowanmac · 18/09/2008 12:36

sambrads pain started as arrived at hospital but had awful backache before that but I'd had a sore back for 6 weeks by then so just ignored it.

I forgot to add yesterday that 2 hours after being Mr uber cutie DS opened the beanbag and we had pesky polystyrene balls all over the house. They build you up just to knock you down.

Had 2 separate dreams about going into labour last night, one of which involved lego, mercifully can't remember details, not at all restful, sick at 4am so had to go for toast and I'm now so tired I could just sit and cry, very self indulgent. Bump really tight today again probably just tiredness.

Thanks for the chocolate cake, the real thing gives me heartburn so I'll enjoy this!

jenwa · 18/09/2008 12:38

Congrats twinklytoes glad all ok and hopefully he will be at home with you soon.

Just attempted to mow my lawn but cant get the bleeding mower started now I have really shaky hands from pulling the choke about 100 times!!!! trying to type and eat lunch with a shakey hand

star6 · 18/09/2008 12:41

I've been really dizzy all day. My class is at Art at the moment, but I was just in a meeting (windows open in the room) and I ate my lunch at the same time (mushroom risotto, apple, water) the meeting was about 40 minutes, but felt really lightheaded/dizzy the whole time, like I couldn't focus my thoughts or eyes on anything.
I know my bp is probably low... but could this be anything else? I'm seeing doctor (not mw) this afternoon at 5.10pm. She's always a bit clueless and doesn't check for things unless I ask...etc. so if there's something specific I should ask her about, I'd be grateful to know of it Felt a bit nauseous at one point in the dizziness as well. No swollen ankles or fingers or swollen anything (except the bump of course! ha!)

ajm200 · 18/09/2008 12:47

Star, mention it when you visit and see what they say. It may just be low BP as you suggest or a sign that you need to start slowing down a bit, resting and sleeping more.

Jenwa, are you mad! I hate our petrol mower, it's so heavy and I haven't been able to use it for the last few months as the smell alone makes me sick. Why not put your feet up with a cuppa and a biscuit. Far better for you at this late stage..

star6 · 18/09/2008 12:51

Yeah jenwa put the mower away you silly girl! Isn't this your child free day??? What ARE you thinking? Go sit on the cozy sofa (dust off the plaster and wood chips from the home improvements first... ha ha!!!) and get something delicious to eat!!!

star6 · 18/09/2008 12:52

Thanks ajm. I don't know how else to slow down... I've already made so many adjustments to slow down my day.

ajm200 · 18/09/2008 12:53

Ladies, can I have your opinion pls. I've got a really good friend who has been chauffering me and my DS to and from playgroups for the last week since our new car packed[ in. Is it too much to give her a box of chocs for her efforts as she won't take petrol money? I don't want her to think I'm taking her for granted but DH says it will just embarrass her. What do you think?

We go to a church playgroup on Thursdays where they take old baby clothes and allow people to take what they want. A really nice lady who I've only seen twice before just gave me the most adorable newborn pink outfit that her daughter has grown out of and the cardi and trousers haven't even been worn. Aren't people lovely

sambrads · 18/09/2008 12:56

went to see the mw today she said that it sounds like i am getting reday for having this baby she felt my bump and head is fully engaged . when she put her hands on my bump she said gosh this is a big baby she reakons nearly 9lb already oh god !!

thats everyone i have have seen has guessed her to be big . she said to go home and bounce and sthat what i am doing now on my birthing ball and have loads of sex

she said you would need to do it at least once a day for it to have any effect. i can hardly manage once a week !! its kind of freaking me out as i have had a show already and i know things are opening .

has anyone any advice???

jenwa · 18/09/2008 12:58

I know, I just get frustrated that I appear to be the only one doing housework here, I know I am part time (well finished now) but it bugs me and I feel I should just do it to prove a point and make me feel better but now it has not as I have shakey hands and more frustrated that could not get the mower working!
Yes its my child free day, did have cake and coffee this am with a friend and was considering going to next this afty to get DD tights but going shopping tomorrow with mother in law and mother. Just feel guilty if I dont do anything!
star how do you feel now? It is warmer today and sometimes meeting are boring and you get that urge to sleep! Maybe you need some chocolate or some coke to give you some energy, always works for me And like ajm said, you prob need more sleep as you are an early bird.

star6 · 18/09/2008 13:08

Not dizzy anymore - I drank loads of water. I can't bring myself to drink coke... although it sounds sooooooo yummy... DH would panic about all of the awful things in it getting to the baby. I do have some green and black's dark chocolate in the car... hmmm.... I might make that little 5 minute walk to get it! Good idea, thanks

ajm200 · 18/09/2008 13:19

Oh Sambrads, I wish we could swap places, I seem to have no trouble at all at starting the crampy backache and BHs. Had to sleep with a HW bottle against my back last night as it felt so crampy, not painful, but uncomfortable.

Bouncing and walking are good. Lots of EPO to soften everything up. A big pot of RLT to strenghten/regulate the BHs/contractions when you've got them going.

Relaxation, deep breathing and visualisation, imagine you can feel the contractions and tell telling baby it is ok to come out. Very new age I know.. but anything is worth a try. I'm doing hypnobirthing so very into things like this and reflexology, etc.
here are some more suggestions, some good, some bad

There are accupressure points between your thumb and forefinger and 4 fingerwidths up from the inside of your ankle that can help too. Link on here somewhere
