Thought we'd go with twinklytoes suggestion since she's gone and got herself admitted to hospital in a desperate bid for attention .

Have left everyone on the stats for now, but will do another cull of deserters soon....

rowanmac I am getting my ebay account up and running again by xmas to start getting rid of stuff! DH Def does not want anymore although not sure he will be the one doing anything about it so if it did happen again I would blame him as men are the weaker ones!!!!! haha. Not sure I want to have anymore though as already panacking about having a 2nd and how I can get out the house in the morn with 2!!!! Get me ready, hair and make up and 2 DD's and keep house clean!!!! Its scary!!!

jenwa · 14/09/2008 20:46

CSWS Wow, its looking fab, thanks for putting pics on. I bet it has been mad! Your stairs look like mine, have the 4 posts around the edges but nothing yet in the middle! We have to replace out stairs as they were the ones that were already there but they are not safe! Ours come up in the middle of the room so we do lose space but DH has invented cupboards either end so we have some storage and wardrobes (well will have) for DD built it. It does make room smaller but then saves on cluttering with furniture and the height is not that tall for a wardrobe!
I bet you are glad its not boiling weather as it would be a pain to get in the garden! And re the darkness, the eves are getting darker now too so you wont get any extra light in either. I dont know how your coping but I suppose it is the fact you
know it will come to an end!
By the way, Your wedding pic, your face looks familiar on there, I know you said you used to live in worcs but you look different on the pic with your DD to the wedding one. I think its the lighter hair on the wedding one. Your DD is beautiful though.
I am really starting to wonder what my baby will look like and if she will be simular to DD or completely different. I am also getting scared about her coming out with something not quite right, think its because I have bizzare dreams about it. Hoping she will be just as lovely as DD was even if it means all the pain again

hansnava · 14/09/2008 21:08

jenwa - I was thinner in the wedding pic . Hair is always natural colour, but naturally looks a bit highlighted, esp in summer (though wedding pic is December!).

pistachio - I'm wanting to snack more at the moment too, though eat slightly smaller meals sometimes. Still haven't gained any weight though, as obv have to be careful what I snack on .

hansnava - can we swap due dates, please? I'm 12th October and would love an extra week Let me know and we'll see what we can work out, ok?

Jenwa - I'm sure your new baby will be perfect. Your DD is just adorable!

Pistachio - so glad your DD had a lovely birthday! wondering about loulou, too!

I dreamt last night that I went to the hospital because was having contractions and asked them if I could have another few weeks please... we negotiated it down to a week and a half and scheduled in the day/time when I would come back and I picked a time when I knew parking would be easy (parking at kingston hospital is absolutely a nightmare)! oh, If ONLY it all worked that way!!

sambrads · 15/09/2008 08:08

star dont think that will happen ha ha

cant believev i am due in 15 days its freaking me out !!! ds birthday is on 25th so either want to go this week or go from 26th on as so dont want to take his wee day from him !!!!

i will be holding a party for him on 27th with about 30 people comin i seriously think im mad but i do intend on jumping like mad on the bouncy castle to get me going after the party!!!!

my bump has raelly dropped can get two hands side by side under my boobs its so strange cant see my belly button now as its moved round

my best friend had a threatened miscariage at the weekend one doc said there was nothing on the scan another doc was walking past and came in when she heard my friend crying and pointed to the scanner and said there is your wee baby!!!!

it was so so nice to hear she is ok but the first doc who was a first year got such a telling off from the other doc !!!

waiting on oil man coming today cant believe how much oil costs soon its going to be freeze or starve as food is really bad price to!!

ajm200 · 15/09/2008 08:17

8Hi Ladies, Can't believe that some of you have the patience to have building work going on so close to your due date! I'm starting to get the nesting instinct now. Couldn't sleep last night so got up and cleaned both bathrooms until DH found me and steered me back to bed. DH and DS have picked up a bug and have had upset tummies all weekend. I've just had tummy cramps but really wimped out - how on earth am I going to do a homebirth if I can't cope with tummy cramps. Had DH in a flap as he thought I'd gone into labour with cramps every 20 mins or so.. didn't let on immediately after he was so horrible last weekend.. naughty I know but he deserved it.

Star Your bump looks so tiny and neat.
Pistachio You should be able to take EPO as that just helps to get your cervix ready for birth. Don't know about raspberry leaf though, as that is a uterine tonic, you'd have to check with your MW. Hope you can though as it can really speed up 2nd stage.

Anyone heard news on the latest new arrival?

WheresTheAuPair · 15/09/2008 08:36

Hi Ladies- oo its all getting closer now!

star i'm also deeply about your bump. DH suggested that I post mine and scare everyone! (Apparently I look like a fertility god at the moment...which i'm thinking is not entirely a good look!)

Anyone else finding that not even maternity clothes are fitting now?

Spent tedious day on saturday cleaning house so now i can proudly type in my sparkling home. Now just need to train DH to keep it this way! Had paranoia that I'd go into labour with a grubby floor and a laundry mountain in situ. I even did my accounts and paperwork so feeling super smug today...lets see how long it lasts lol.

ajm200 · 15/09/2008 08:50

Wherestheaupair I'm lucky that my maternity clothes are still OK. I have a small neat bump but not as teeny as Star's. Last time my bump so huge that I looked full term at 5.5 months so can sympathise.

I'm also panicking about the house as I'm due for a homebirth and am worried that the MWs will take one look at the place next week and refuse to book me in. I tidy up and both DS and DH undo my work even quicker. Also seem to be housing the EU clean laundry and ironing mountains. DS has no bedroom furniture other than a bed so his stuff is in one laundry basket. DHs is in another as he says he can't find anything when I put his stuff away but can't be bothered to do it himself.

Also have a lingering smell of damp in the hallway after DS flooded the hall and bathroom. Carpets are gone but something still isn't fully dry.

hansnava · 15/09/2008 08:55

star if u could find ne way to make that happen id be more then happy to swap dates with u

WheresTheAuPair · 15/09/2008 09:22

ajm i'll swap you a tidy house for a neat bump- is that a deal? I knackered myself on Saturday doing it and was v.grumpy as DH was working so it was all down to me to do. The doting grandparents had DS the weekend before and we had an even more exciting day tidying up our bedroom and being ruthless with clothes.
Our wardrobe has been streamlined so at least stuff can go away now and there are no clothing mountains...yet!
I need some fun before baby arrives! All DH has done this summer/year is work (no day off since Feb!)but at least plans to take time off when baby arrives...at least I bloody hope so!!

ajm200 · 15/09/2008 11:01

I'm furious. DH has just phoned to say that a work project is going to clash with DD's due date so he should be around for the birth but won't be taking his paternity leave to help me out

I reminded him that his child is only born once and he should be getting his priorities right. His answer was 'well we've both been there and done that - it's not like its going to be our first, gotta go.' and he hung up.

I'm soo angry and close to tears... why is he so horrible this time round.

jenwa · 15/09/2008 11:15

Oh AJM thats not good. My DH also may not be able to take time off as his boss unwell and may not be in til Xmas so having to do all the work! Its funny they think that "been there done that" but this is ANOTHER baby not the SAME one!!! And does he not remember how tired and hard work it is and that there are now more than 1!!! MEN!!!

star if your dream came true you would be happy

I just hurt my back again! Been in shed and got out all the baby stuff, swing, car seat, moses basket, blankets, bedding, grow bags, toys, baby hangers and so on and now I hurt . Had been asking DH but he been in loft and not had time so thought I would just do it myself but ended up being bent over the chair in the way in there and reaching for everything and moving boxes and cases etc to actually find stuff! I know I should not have but I feel the nesting coming on and need to do it! DD is now very happy as she has her doll in the swing and playing with moses basket, just not sure how happy she will be when a baby is in there!! Will have to put it all somewhere later but have no idea where! Currently washing everything.

ajm200 · 15/09/2008 11:23

Jenwa - you must be careful. The last thing you need is to go into labour with a bad back. I'm sorry that your DH may not be able to take time off either. It's not going to be easy with a LO and older children but we are strong women and we will cope.

I'm more angry that he didn't respect me enough to tell me face to face and was so flippant about it. If I go into labour during the day, I'm sorely tempted leave it a while before calling him so that he has to rush to get here and maybe that'll make him realise how much it does mean to him. If I did though, everyone would think I was an unreasonable cow.

annwoo · 15/09/2008 12:13

wherestheaupair yes maternity clothes getting tight here too.

Dropped ds off at nursery this morning and one of the assistants asked 'How's baby today' and then put her hand on my stomach!! Had the overwhelming urge to punch her! (Not normally the aggressive type) Why is it some people think your pregnant stomach is public property?

Rant over

jenwa understand nesting instinct - but please rest now.

ajm at your dh's reactions.

jenwa · 15/09/2008 12:23

Yes will try resting, just feel like I am on a mission! Its so nice to know things are sorted, especially when you have to do it yourself, although DH will say later "I would have done that" not before baby was born and if he had not sure he would have cleaned it all as well I was would

AJM I dont think you would be unreasonable, and anyway you can always say it just came on suddenly or use the excuse that he did say he was busy and you did not want to bother him...guilt trip but yes in the long run we will cope as actually I am not sure how much they do do!!!!

jenwa · 15/09/2008 12:26

annwoo Yes people do think they can just touch you, its strange as no one would normally. I used to get annoyed after having DD and people would think it was ok to stick there head in the pram and touch her...eek, especially older people and having previously worked with older people I know they dont always wash their hands after wiping sparingly with 1 piece of toilet paper (Sorry TMI)

jenwa · 15/09/2008 12:35

Have gatecrashed twins thread and spoke to accessorizequeen and she is doing ok, going in for sweep next week and think aiming natural. She has been busy and not had time to post on all threads but lurking here to check on any progress. I asked her to let us know when babies born and we are thinking of her.

07mumstheword · 15/09/2008 12:44

Just popping in to say hi as I've been on holiday, there is so much to catch up on but I see there have been no birth announcements whilst I've been away I'm sure they'll be coming in thick and fast soon

I was just hoping that baby was out by now for her sake. Not seen any birth announcement yet so was wondering if any of you had heard the latest

Hi all,

Sorry i've been away for so long but just got to computer.

baby boy born 10/09/08 at 7pm weighing 6lbs 12oz. We've called him Joe Louis David.

Started induction on weds @10.30am (3cm when got there) still 3cm at 3pm. Given syntocin at 3.30. 10cm at 5pm (very painful contractions much worse than last time, was screaming for morphine but none was forthcoming!!! No stitches, no tears but threatened me with epistiotomy ans that made me push for all i was worth!!! It was sooooo much more painful this time round there is no way i could have managed more than 3 1/2 hour labour. Only had gas and air so feeling very chuffed.

Joe in neo-natal from 1 hour old under phototherapy lamps. Was expecting to be home today but he had a blip at weekend and was very close to needing exchange transfusion - much better now and hoping to be home on friday. Feeding really well, took to bf like a pro (unlike his mother!!)

Hope you are all well and will post again when i get home - have popped into work down road from hosp to send this!!

love to you all xx

pepperrabbit · 15/09/2008 15:38
