Thought we'd go with twinklytoes suggestion since she's gone and got herself admitted to hospital in a desperate bid for attention .

Have left everyone on the stats for now, but will do another cull of deserters soon....

it's very exciting reading about all the 'shows' going on! I have only ever had shows quite late on in labour. Nothing to report here, still have bouts of extreme pains in my side when I over do it, can't really think about going into labour yet, as have promised to help my 'poor'sister out, who has become an instant mummy again to a 2 & 3 year old, it was either that or foster care! (her own daughter is 12,nearly 13!) Anyway, won't bore you with all that, as we all have our 'own' life changing events going on at the moment Still waiting for my car seat to be delivered, ordered it in the middle of june! starting to worry a little now, probably have to except a different colour to the one that I really wanted if it doesn't arrive soon. Good luck to all who are getting nearer, will keep you informed if any thing happens with me!

Question girls...
at the growth scan a couple weeks ago all was well but fluid a bit on the low side and if i start "losing any more fluid than usual" I should go in straight away. Do they mean when I pee/wee or discharge?
Last night I was up way more than usual to go to the toilet and usually it's just a little bit, but it was quite a bit more each time and I haven't had any extra water during the day. I don't feel like anything is wrong. Baby is moving still and no unusual pain. Just wondering if I should call in or not.

emkay not sure how you do that with a toddler AND teaching! You're crazy!! Yes, it is demanding physical labour with little ones, but for me, when I'm done for the day, I am done and can sit and relax from 3.30 onward. My class is also so lovely this year that they have really done well with some adjustments like, I sit in a chair when they come to the carpet in a circle instead of on the floor, I ask them to come to me for 1:1 stuff instead of me to them (I have another table for that in the middle of the room)... this would not have worked with my class last year. Starting next week, the teacher coming in to cover for the weeks I'm out will be joining us quite often as well, so that will be some relief, too. But, emkay, I salute you... I cannot coming home to looking after a toddler after all of that... you must have patience of gold.

CantSleepWontSleep · 13/09/2008 07:14

I would assume that they meant discharge star, but if in doubt then give them a call to talk it through. They won't mind at all and would rather that than you not go in when you need to.

Emmsy - where did you order your car seat from? Not another two left feet purchase I hope?!

Thanks csws, I'll ring them up in a bit and see what they say
Just needed someone to say, it's ok to call because I just don't like to bother them unless it's something worth calling about so that they don't think I'm an over reacter and will take me seriously when it's necessary at the end

star6 · 13/09/2008 07:29

that's awful bethoo about the thunder/lightening and darkness! Is that very common in the UK? We've been here several years, but not had a lot of thunderstorms, they just dont seem as common but maybe that's just in Surrey.

bethoo · 13/09/2008 07:42

i dont know Star tbh. but i thought we were forecast for sunny spells yesterday!

last night the cat bought in a baby mouse which i then rescued, it is currently in a chinese take away container with sunflower and pumpkin seeds. ds had a touch and got all excited. at first i thought he thought it was a fluffy teddy! we will be going to the field to release it soon. if i put it into my garden the cat will no doubt bbring it in and it may not be so lucky! do you think it will be ok somewhere else? it is cute, got a big head and a little body! had it sat in my arms while i rummaged around the house looking for something to put him in! had i released it last night the cat wouold have watched and waited...

star6 · 13/09/2008 08:02

bless you, bethoo!
The field sounds like a great idea.

sambrads · 13/09/2008 08:51

Happy Birthday Myjobismum!
Happy Birthday Pistachio's DD!
Seems a popular time of year to have babies

I'm more exhausted from cleaning this morning than i have been all week from teaching!!

bethoo · 13/09/2008 14:41

happy birthday myjobismum hope you have a good day!
ended up releasing the mouse at the bottom of the garden as did not want it too far from home, was so tempted to keep it!
there is an extremely smelly boy pushing a toy hoover around so must dash!
in nesting mode but pretty much thrown most of it out! though the house is still a mess in my eyes! may as well give downstairs a quick hoover as buggy bought in grass.
baby is wriggling lots and cant be more than 10metres away from a loo so shopping is hard! hopefully on monday she will be further engaged..
only one week to go at work then can chill though i am going on a kind of blind date in the two weeks before the birth! he knows i am pregnant so no surprises which tbh makes me even more suspicious but we will be meeting in public.

jenwa · 13/09/2008 15:25

Happy birthday myjob hope you having lovely day and happy birthday to pistachios DD

I thought I felt better today but am now getting another headache behind my left eye. Hoping it will go although the banging up in the loft is prob not helping. My MIL has taken DD out for a walk so just chilling after I polished up. Stressed as house such a mess but with the loft being done I cant keep on top of it! How are you coping CSWS with your house, ihave you given up tidying or is it not too bad? MY DH keeps walking through dust and plaster and I can hardly get out my back door as he has used it as a skip! [angry}
Hoping it will all be finished soon as think I will go loopey!

star6 · 13/09/2008 17:36

So get this.. I just got a letter in the mail... handwritten address on the envelope, postage was dated on 11th September... the letter says that my blood test on the NINTH OF AUGUST showed very low iron and they recommend that I take iron tablets. Signed by a midwife at kingston hospital. Then, included is the pink blood test result form with all of the numbers.
How many blood tests and conversations with midwives have I had since then? But those were at gp clinic... I guess the hospital didn't know about those... but still HOW irresponsible to give this to someone a MONTH later in pregnancy??? Especially since I'm 36 weeks!!!! Honestly! I'll be surprised if they have a bed for me when I go into labour!!!

star6 · 13/09/2008 17:39

jenwa I can totally relate to the DIY mess!! It's finally over here now, but oh it was awful! I can totally feel for you about dh walking through plaster and dust and spreading it everywhere, making piles of rubbish wherever he wants... that's probably the reason for the headache behind your left eye!

CSWS ordered it through a very reputable company in Heswall called baby bussiness, I have ordered many things from there in the past, this is the first time there has been a problem, its a maxi cosi car seat in deep red, as it will fit the frame of my new Quinny buzz, man said that the company haven't made enough in deep red for the demand, as the car seats fit so many frames

rowanmac · 13/09/2008 19:51

I'm still waiting for new wheels for my pram from Mountain Buggy that I ordered in April. They were supposed to arive in July but apparently weren't in the shipment from NZ so she may or may not get them in September. I'm planning to contact NZ direct on Monday.

No word from Loulou yet? I hope she's tucked up with newborn after normal delivery and avoided the knife.

Been out for a long lunch today with DH for 4th wedding anniversary, enjoyed it as probably won't manage to speak to each other again for months through sheer tiredness!

jenwa · 13/09/2008 21:28

star that is awful, how bad is that only just getting it! There big mistake!!!
Yes maybe the mess is giving me a headache...stress related!

Just had a take away with inlaws which was nice and DH tidied up afterwards, house still dusty but thats what it will be like until the jobs finished!

rowanmac ha ha I know what you mean, its too hard to have a conversation afterwards unless it is about feeding time, nappy time etc, get it all in now whilst you can. Happy anniversary though and hopefully you will be talking again by the 5th one unless another baby arrives by then !!!!!!!

myjob glad you having lovely day and hopefully nice tomorrow for your bbq.

star6 · 14/09/2008 15:40

I've posted my 36 week bump! And the 33 week one. He's growing every day

star6 · 14/09/2008 17:07

I feel a bit weird about creating a "baby registry" but family and friends from overseas (in the US) are now emailing us asking for our "registry details". We've finally decided to just do one... my Dad finally said he'd prefer to get us something we picked out than to get us something he's not sure we want then pay for it to be shipped overseas...etc., which makes sense.
But... WHERE can you do a baby registry besides John Lewis? I was hoping to set one up on babiesrus, but can't sort out how to do that... maybe they don't do it? I wanted something like babiesrus because for people in the US, the prices they see in £s will be double that in $s. Anyone done a registry for a baby? I don't like this sort of thing because it's like asking for gifts... feels so awkward!

rosebury · 14/09/2008 17:23

Evening ladies sorry not been on for a while but have tried to catch up we are mostly ok and I am surprised that there have not yet been any early arrivals. My neighbour was due 5th oct and has had her baby last week together with another lady from my antenatal class both delivered at 36wks, we will start popping them out quite soon.

I am all ready for my homebirth as they will deliver you from 37wks in my area.

hope to speak again soon.

jenwa · 14/09/2008 17:56

Its really scary I am looking at sept thread and the babies keep coming and I think that will be us soon, how mad is that!!!

star not sure where you can get a baby registry, never knew they did it. Do mothercare do anything? Sometimes you can get people to send E-Vouchers, I know you can through Early Learning. I can imagine its akward though but if family are asking then best do it !!! Otherwise Next vouchers.....you will need some nice new clothes afterwards to make yourself feel better

star6 · 14/09/2008 18:58

thanks, jenwa. Mothercare does have one! I didn't even think of that.
It's all coming up so soon now...
accessorizequeen????? Anyone heard from her? She must have had those twins by now, right?

rowanmac · 14/09/2008 19:15

jenwa there will not be another baby ever so I'm sure we'll be speaking again by next September! As soon as I'm back in my normal clothes there'll be an advert for maternity clothes in the local paper. I cannot possibly go through all this again.

CantSleepWontSleep · 14/09/2008 19:52

Jenwa - have put a couple of updated house pictures on my profile for you. Still chaotic, but loft room starting to resemble an acutal room at least. You may be able to 'hardly' get out of your back door, but the entire back of my house has been blocked off for 6 weeks now, so the only access to our back garden is out of the front door and around. That is starting to get a bit tedious, as is the lack of daylight through most of downstairs. Looks like the bulk of the internal building work will be done over the next 2-3 weeks, but there will still be lots of decorating/flooring and external works going on until close to Christmas.

2 things I've been meaning to say..

1 - to all those planning on using reuseable nappies - do check whether your local council offers money towards the purchase, as many do. Details for anyone in North Herts here.

2 - to all first timers who may not be aware - your pregnancy notes (green file here) will be taken away from you once you go in to have the baby, never to be seen again, so if there is stuff in there that you want copies of for future reference, then photocopy now before it is too late!
