Thought we'd go with twinklytoes suggestion since she's gone and got herself admitted to hospital in a desperate bid for attention .

Have left everyone on the stats for now, but will do another cull of deserters soon....

Thanks for the tips on Lose your Mummy Tummy, when I try and sit up the bump goes rectangular as my stomach muscles squeeze either side with nothing on top, not a good look. I've found a physio locally who does Pilates (recommended for repairing my pelvis post delivery) so I'm hoping that will put my tummy muscles back togather as well.

emkay I'm a bit like you at the thought of going back to work. everyone else does it so we'll be fine. . My boss has 3 children and works full time, I work 3 days and will just have 2. No pressure!

star best not to think about anything beyond a very small baby. I once burst into teras whilst out for a walk with DS aged 3 weeks at the thought of him taking off on a round the world trip at 18 and not seeing him for 6 months. Having done that 3 x myself I won't have a leg to stand on to prevent him going. My poor mother!

Had last baby at 36+4 which is 10days time. Saw MW today who wanted to book me in 3 weeks for a check, asked if that was alright, i replied I don't know I've never been 38weeks before so they're seeing me in a fortnight. Bizarrely I'm now getting anxious that it won't be early. Last time I was huge, average baby plus swimming pool, this time I'm small for dates. Being 5ft10 nobody can believe the baby is due next month.

DS was 3 yesterday, 11 for dinner last night so a tad tired today, been getting lots of help from Grannies and DS has started pre school so actually a lot less sore and tired.

Must start checking this thread more often so i don't miss any announcements.

jenwa · 11/09/2008 21:21

rowanmac you have the same tummy as me then! Mine looks freaky when I do that! Realises now why it does it so not doing it now for entertainment value, actually prob cant do it anyway as need to heave myself off the sofa!
Happy b'day to your son. My DD will be 3 in Oct, can see baby arriving on her b'day as long as its not MIL's b'day though

ajm200 · 11/09/2008 21:23

Cantsleep Kiddicare was the first place I looked but they only stock the single.

CantSleepWontSleep · 11/09/2008 21:29

The MB double is £650 from mothercare yes?
In that case, try here. Only ever heard good things about this place.

Hello ladies!
I am feeling like an old woman today, have been hobbling round all day and aching all over esp my legs. I'm wondering if I have that SPD - is it SPD or have I just made up that acronym??

CantSleepWontSleep · 11/09/2008 21:46

SPD is genuine acronym (syphisis pubis dysfunction), but affects groin area rather than legs. Which bit of legs?

OP posts:
Honeymoonmummy · 11/09/2008 21:47

The tops of my legs but I wouldnt say the groin...er, if that makes sense???

Honeymoonmummy · 11/09/2008 21:48

I just can't seem to walk without looking like I should be shuffling a wheely shopping trolley!

Honeymoonmummy · 11/09/2008 21:51

TBH it feels like I've done a 5k run (I vaguely remember being able to do that...)

moodywren · 11/09/2008 21:56

Haven't been on line for a few days and haven't been able to catch up with your messages. I am soo tired.

I have 5 weeks to go although ds2 came 3 weeks early and I am desperate to have the kitchen finished before ds3 arrives. I seem really unorganised this time I am not ready at all. Is everyone else ready?

CantSleepWontSleep · 11/09/2008 21:57

Description of pain of SPD here. Sound familiar?

OP posts:
CantSleepWontSleep · 11/09/2008 21:57

No, not ready moodywren. Still have builders taking over half of house, and less than 3 weeks to go here!

Honeymoonmummy · 11/09/2008 22:02

I don't know TBH CSWS, thanks for the link

I guess I need to go to the docs to check. Is it normal to feel this achey at the end of the day? Or is there probably something other than general pregnancy??? Its not like I do much standing or walking at my job, I just sit at a desk all day. Altho I did walk to the shops yesterday and did quite a bit of walking, maybe its just that making me feel worse than usual...

WheresTheAuPair · 11/09/2008 22:22

CSWS thanks for that SPD link- I'm going to mention my pelvic pain to midwife on Tuesday. Reading that link all made sense!! I never had this with DS but this time round its exactly as that site says- including the pain in my bum- ouch! I find the pain is worse when I get up and then it sort of settles to an ache...then stabs some more

I took DS for what should have been a 20 min round trip walk to post office today- took well over an hour with the combination of me shuffling along and him jumping in every single puddle/investigating insects/pointing at traffic it was the longest walk of my life!!!

WheresTheAuPair · 11/09/2008 22:29

bum cheeks that is -like that 'too many squats' feeling except it goes right round my groin/tops of legs and public bone- ouch.

Smudgydoodle i'm with you with the trolley senario- its just like wrestling with cat/ cat basket with DS. Its been tough but so far i've won -even if it has meant one one occasion he had to sit in the main bit of trolley protesting noisily (yes i did feel like the world's most terrible mother but he was in a strop and i couldn't face chasing him around!) Thankfully he's been co-operating since with only some token protests about the trolley seat. Raisins, bananas and choc buttons have been the only way to bribe him into nice supermarket behaviour recently

hansnava · 12/09/2008 00:24

hi all.
went to see consultant today and he booked me in for section on the 20th oct if i havent gone into natural labour by then.

he said hes a bit worried as platlets are dropping with each blood test i have.

ah well at least i know i will have my baby by the 20th.

hope u all ok.

star6 · 12/09/2008 03:42

can't sleep. Going to look up bf bras and bf tops online...
what if you for some reason I have to express breast milk in the hospital? Should I pack my pump and some bottles just in case? i'd hate to have to give baby formula straight away just because i'm not prepared... or do they have this stuff there for you? (I assume not, since they don't provide you with much else... )

annwoo · 12/09/2008 07:37

star they should provide you with a pump from the hospital - which are normally v. good. Are you still working - you are going to be knackered today!

star6 · 12/09/2008 07:49

Yes, I'm working until the baby is born... regretting making that decision a BIT, but I'm a teacher, so I actually do LOVE my job and the little ones in my class... and there is just so much to do, organize, assess and get ready for my mat leave cover substitute teacher, that I can't bear to stay home. Already exhausted though, and kids aren't even here yet. Luckily I have a DREAM class, so I'm not expending a lot of energy on management and behavioural issues. Thank goodness!!!

rach010 · 12/09/2008 07:50

Thanks for all the advice, really worried thoigh, the more i google it the more scary it is. Just have to scrub the floor alot and keep my fingers crossed.

Have a good day all

ajm200 · 12/09/2008 08:14

Thanks cantsleep. DH is dead set against using another internet supplier after the problems we've had. He knows he is going to waste about 200 quid but he's determined. As he's paying for it, I can't be bothered to try and change his mind anymore, this has been going on for months now. I'm too tired and picking my battles these days. Good tip though

Aubergenie · 12/09/2008 08:37

Hello ladies, WOW this thread moves so fast!
I've spent much of the last couple of days at the hospital. Had a liver scan on Wednesday (all fine) and a growth scan yesterday (also fine) followed by blood tests and 3 other appointments with various people. I am so sick of that place! Unfortunately, despite all the scans etc, I'm still considered high risk and will not be allowed in the midwife led unit. However, I've had some reassurance on some of my concerns (had previously been told I'd have to stay on the bed whilst being continually monitored and also that I wouldn't be allowed to eat or drink) and have had it written in my notes so at least I can refer to these if I need to. Have also been told that I may need to be induced at 40 weeks, depending on my blood results, so I will have to start following some of Loulou's tips for preparing myself.

Sambrads - I hope you're managing to get some rest.

Star - I'm in awe that you're still working! I'm also a primary teacher and I was SO glad to finish last Friday (36w3d). I had planned to work later but just found it so tiring and the docs told me I needed to rest, so I had to finish earlier.

Have a good day!

star6 · 12/09/2008 09:25

drs told me to rest, too... but only 6 weeks at 90% pay then smp after that... can't live on smp as dh is in GTP programme this year at a state school... so need my salary since it's higher I just take it easy here, hopefully I'll make it to delivery. 35+5 today! My school is very kind to me, though and my class is 16 kids, they are lovely... and I have 2 specials classes + lunch and recess break each day, so I can rest a bit more than would be able to in most schools (even when I have meetings during those times).

yeah, that's how I see it... I want ALL of my time off to be WITH the baby. What a waste to just be at home using it up. And it's a 10 minute drive from my house... school ends at 3.20, so I come in early and try to leave right at 3.30pm... so not a long day as if I were working in a london office, commuting on a train for an hour each day or more... I consider myself lucky to be in this situation, given the circumstances.

Happy BIRTHDAY myjobismum!!!!! I hope you have a lovely weekend So, 37 weeks is considered full term? Wow! Any of us could deliver SOON!
