Thought we'd go with twinklytoes suggestion since she's gone and got herself admitted to hospital in a desperate bid for attention .

Have left everyone on the stats for now, but will do another cull of deserters soon....

Oh this will make you laugh. Mentioned something to dd's nursery school teacher today about the new baby, and she said 'oh, I didn't realise that you were pregnant' . I am 37 weeks FFS - how can you not realise?! Just how fat do you think I am?!

csws - !!!!!!
Is she just really flighty? Has she had children of her own?
Or maybe she thought she was being "polite" not noticing... I find sometimes people think they are being kind saying "oh you can hardly even tell!"

Jenwa - LOL at the octopus!! Have you dreamt it was an octopus?

sambrads · 11/09/2008 07:57

oh my csws i bet you felt like saying are you stupid!!!!! hahaha

so how are you all this morning i wonder has loulou got her wee baby yet

cant believe just how soon it is til baby comes . can i ask a question??

is anyone getting alot of discharge ???
if so what colour is it?? mine is white not thick or ichy or uncomfortable .

when i got internal she commented on how WET i was and gave me a pessary for thrush . i told her i did not have any of the obvious syptoms and she said pregnancy thrush is alot different to thrush . she said some women are just very wet !!???

hopefully the pessary has cleared it up now

ajm200 · 11/09/2008 09:29

Yes, I keep thinking my waters are leaking very slowly! I stand up and feel a little trickle. Just clear, fluid that doesn't smell so I'm not peeing my pants.

Mentioned it yesterday and the MW checked with a swab, like litmus paper and said it wasn't obvious but have to go to be checked if it gets worse or I get a temperature.

Another 2-3 weeks would be good before they decide to go.

ajm200 · 11/09/2008 09:33

Excuse my typing, have a little helper who keeps hitting the keyboard, laughing and saying, mum mum, I go away now OK? Then putting PC into standby.

Looks like I'm stuck with DH at home again. The brand new car that we've had a week has broken down, no brakes and no wipers.. ideal in this weather. Audi are just towing it away. Hope I don't need to go to hospital today, cabs are 25 quid each way.

I was looking forward to a DH free day after he was so awful yesterday. He can be a real emotional bully when he's in the wrong mood.

Myjob - I really suffered with piles last time so I know how awful they can be. my mum bought me some of this stuff. It was very cooling and calmed them a bit.

Good for cooling down below post labour too.

Mine were like that too. The cream I've suggested does shrink them a bit but they were definately worse and multiplied after the birth.. I know thats not what you want to hear - sorry

Got rid of DH for a while as he's gone to take his mood out on the garage as it seems the car is seriously faulty. The Audi tech has found 12 different faults. Maybe he'll be in a better mood when he comes back.
Yesterday, he accused me of being a bad mother for accidently putting little mans trousers on the wrong way round but it was ok for him to take little man out in the garden in the rain with no coat and ignore his crys of I wet, I cold... Men!!!

star6 · 11/09/2008 10:56

myjob - ha ha!! less worried... that will never happen
But no, the needle pain is still there whenever he moves near his head and was there through the night. Not very fun!!

I hope your DS is just going through a phase. Maybe he's anticipating the new baby and wants you close?

WombFor1More · 11/09/2008 11:34

Morning ladies

Hope you're all well today. I have just had mw out for hb visit. She brought the kit and forms so all sorted now, just got to wait for baby to decide to put in an appearance! Have been booked for a growth scan for 26th Sept, 3days before due date, just to put my mind at rest one way or another really. Dd was 9lb 4 and I just want to check we aren't heading for a 10lber I don't think he is as big as dd but we shall see......

Finally dp got the crib and moses basket down from the loft. Just have to get washing now. Still need to wash all bedding and all his clothes. Can't believe I'm still so unorganised!

On subject of double buggies, I too have got the new P&T Vibe. Just started using it as the wheel fell off my lovely Ziko

The only thing I can fault with it is the doubles seat. They have basically marketed it as being able to have a slight recline on BUT because the actual seat design has the metal bar going all around it, dd, 13m, doesn't fit in it properly and her head bashes said bar I phoned Mothercare about this and she told me the seat is designed so you push it through from other side so bar is covered. So I did this but then it renders their "recline" totally impossible to use (unless you have a very small child!) BIG design flaw there if you ask me so have complained to P&T. Doubt I'll hear back though.

Oh well it's still the best one we tried out and I suppose you'll never find one that's 100% as you'd like it.

Well off to start that washing now whilst dd asleep for half hour.

xxxx

Jambers99 · 11/09/2008 11:54

Big scare in the Jambers household last night. DS was sick while eating dinner - not in itself a rare occurence unfortunately, but what he brought up was loads of blood. Very scary, but he seemed quite happy in himself, so didn't descend immediately into panic mode. Took him to A&E once DH was home, and thank god they said it was just a nosebleed that had gone down into his stomach - weird cos no blood had come out of his nose, but glad it wasn't anything more serious.

Everything else fine, baby still moving lots and I'm feeling well. Haven't got my double buggy yet either. Will get it from John Lewis as DH works there & we get 25% off, but although they have the one I want on the website it doesn't seem to be in the shops and I'm not spending £450 without trying it first.

ajm200 · 11/09/2008 11:59

Jambers - Oh dear. That must have been frightening but guess the blood is better out than in. Hope your DS is better now.
Do mothercare or independant baby stores stock it.

We had a similar problem with the mountain buggy twin that we wanted and ended up taking a long day trip to Brighton to see it at a small independant store. Didn't order it from them though as they couldn't give any idea of delivery times and the price was a bit steep. Will get it from Mothercare as soon as we get a refund from the CC for the one that we ordered on the internet that didn't arrive.

SmudgeyDoodle · 11/09/2008 14:10

Jambers - glad DS is alright. How on earth did the hospital know it was from a nose bleed if noone came out of his nose? (the wonders of medicine!)
Star6 I have that stabbing pain too. I remember someone on the antenatal thread last time saying it was like someone was sticking a knitting needle up your lady bits which I think describes it fairly well. I seem to get it most when I'm moving around so take it as my cue to have a rest.
Those with toddlers who are acting up, I'm in the same boat. I think they know and are now just being awkward. DS sat on the floor today in a car park because he didn't want to hold my hand. He also kicks off every time I try to put him in a shopping trolley as he prefers to run riot. All ok here though really. Off on hen do this weekend and then meeting up with DH and DS for a couple of days away with family. I wonder if any LO will have made an appearance by the time we are back? Good luck everyone!

ajm200 · 11/09/2008 14:41

Smudgey Have a great holiday

rach010 · 11/09/2008 16:15

Hi ladies

need some advice, 34+4 and been to see MW she said baby is breech, what can i do? She suggested rocking on all 4's for 10mins each day, is there anything else anyone can suggest? Think i can remember reading a while ago about someone being in the same boat.

Also if it doesn't turn does that mean i will have to have a C-section? Really don't want that if i can help it.

ajm200 · 11/09/2008 16:26

Rach010 - what a worry for you. Check out www.spinningbabies.com for ideas on how to get baby to move. You've still got time for LO to flip over on its own.

Doctors can also manipulate baby externally to try and force it round but is is very uncomfortable for mum and baby. I think its called ECV but not 100% sure.

rach010 · 11/09/2008 17:46

ajm200 Thanks for the advice i will check out the website now.

Hope everyone else OK

star6 · 11/09/2008 19:23

That spinningbabies website is great! I used it several weeks ago... maybe it was recommended by you, ajm200!! I can't remember now. It is so detailed and practical and the techniques really do work!

My Baby still has large needle attached to his head.

I have a question... I have 36 week check next wednesday. MW has had me schedule it with the dr. Are they going to examine me then... down there? Or is that later, like at 38 weeks? I like to be prepared...

ajm200 · 11/09/2008 19:49

Star, in the UK they don't usually do internal exams unless you have definate problem, ask for a membrane sweep or are in labour.

I didn't have any with DS. I've had two this time, once to check my cervix as I was definately having contractions and again yesterday to check for leaking fluid.

So don't fret

star6 · 11/09/2008 19:56

Thanks ajm. I'll sleep soundly from now on, then... until the need to go to the toilet arises, that is.... every 30 minutes!!!

star no I never dreamt it was an octupus it just really feels like there are more limbs in there or 2 babies as there is soooo much wriggling going on and turning.

I cant believe I have 5 1/2 weeks but am soooo sure this baby is coming early!

CantSleepWontSleep · 11/09/2008 20:32

Evening ladies.

Rach - ds turned from breech by himself about 34 weeks, so don't give up hope yet. Also had a friend's dd turn by herself at 37 or 38 weeks, on the morning that she was going to see the consultant about ECV! Another friend delivered a breech baby a couple of weeks ago (in just 3 hours), so it certainly can be done. I think it depends exactly what type of breech it is (ie exact position).

Have a great holiday Smudgey.

ajm - good choice with the mountain buggy. We have the single. Have you checked kiddicare? The only way we managed to better their price for ours was by getting it direct from MB at a a baby show.
