Thought we'd go with twinklytoes suggestion since she's gone and got herself admitted to hospital in a desperate bid for attention .

Have left everyone on the stats for now, but will do another cull of deserters soon....

Golly ladies - you have to be on here all day at the moment to keep up with this thread!

Best of luck for tomorrow loulou.

Best of luck for your scan too Jenwa. Hope that placenta of yours has shifted it's arse out of the way!

Welcome back sparkles - thought you'd been awol for a long time!

Sambrads - sorry that you have a lack of support over there, but you must take it easy. Forget about housework - it really doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things.

Star - you're welcome to come and entertain my dd whilst I have a nap if you like .

I really should finish packing my hospital bag now that I'm 37 weeks I suppose. Have a feeling I'll still be saying that next week though .

Got another big box of clothes for ds today from the lovely Tutter, so at least he will have stuff to wear even if nothing else is ready for him!

I hear you too Pistachio - oh sadly denial not an option when induction less than 12 hours away - damn!!!

Star i hope i didn't upset you by being rude about my mother. i must be hard to hear others being ungrateful and taking their parents for granted. I often feel like that about friends who slag off their dads when my dad died when i was in my early twenties. becoming a parent reminds you so much of what your parents did or didn't do for you when you were young and having ds really brought that home for me ...phew heavy stuff.

Right off to bed to try and get some sleep before tomorrow although i am like you pepperrabbit waking between 3 and 5am and not being able to get back to sleep.

Thanks for all your good wishes for tomorrow, keep your fingers crossed and i'll let you know when its all over......

bethoo · 09/09/2008 21:24

do Tescos sell maternity pads as could not find them at all?
must really pack my labour bag!
so annwoo is the vibe worth investing in then? i read on a review that the top hood can obstruct the handle/brake and looking at the picture it does look rather close! let me know as still umming and ahhing bout getting it!

loulou good luck for tomorrow. Hope all goes well. try get some sleep.

bethoo yes tescos do sell them. They are by the baby stuff not sanitary towels (well in my local one they are). They are in a pink packet. To be honest though I may get some normal ones too as maternity ones are like big wedges!!!

Flum · 09/09/2008 21:35

Thank you for not dumping me off the list. I still am due to have a baby on 25th October but with two others already it has just not been a priority this summer. Pregnancy fine though so far. Shocking broken and varicose veins and this last week SHOCKING back ache.

Its cool though as kids enjoying more telly and me watching telly with them and they are getting read about 10 stories a day as I can do that lying down!!

ajm200 · 09/09/2008 22:03

star The maternity pads are in the baby section rather than with the sanitary pads

i too have been getting BH which are painful, i also get back ache too and mw said that it can be a sign of labour for some women so if the BH seem to be regular i am to call labour ward. getting close tlo the big day though not as close as loulou and some others!
hope accessorizequeen is ok

annwoo · 09/09/2008 23:03

bethoo not sure what you mean about top hood blocking handbrake - maybe with double seat on the front - will try out and let you know.
The hood is great imho as can slide up and down sides of buggy so can be adjusted to height you want. The hood itself can flip over right to handle bar so lo in front is protected from the sun. Hope this makes sense. The hoods on sport and E3 give no protection from sun whatsoever ds didn't like shade a babe, so was always mucking about with muslins etc. Any other questions fire away.

emkay · 09/09/2008 23:09

After going on holiday at the end of August and then back to school last week I've been offline and now just totally daunted by the number of posts! Wow!

Good luck loulou and hope you can continue to put your feet up sambrads. My DD is three in November and I am so much more rested at work in front of a computer than I am at home! If my memory is selective less than three years after she was born, I'm sure it'll be a lot more selective and rosy by the time I'm a grandparent...

Feeling pretty good generally and looking forward to finishing work next week. Bit nervous about how life is going to work with two children but I figure it must be possible because so many people do it!

bethoo · 09/09/2008 23:09

thanks just read a few reviews where people said when the hood was folded up it was in the way of the handlebars but if you find there is no problem then sounds good to me. luckily i got maternity grant so will order one this week, i hope the guy will give me a little discount, so with the vibe nd just the doubles kit should work out jsut over £500! blimey. do i really need a cosy toes and stuff? does the rain cover come with or order separately?

bethoo · 09/09/2008 23:10

and also how big is the basket?

star6 · 10/09/2008 05:57

no worries jenwa and loulou I learned how to deal with that during my teenage years (she passed away when I was 14). Always hard at first to see other teens hating their mothers and treating them so horribly, but learned to deal with it. Now, MIL is just as irritating as everyone else's own mother, so I know where you're coming from. I used to think she was lovely and wonderful but ever since she found out we're having a baby it's a totally different story

bethoo - I didn't see maternity pads at tesco either - but I did see some at boots for £1 yesterday afternoon! Boots also seemed to have inexpensive nappies and inexpensive wipes.

Why are pushchairs sooooooo expensive? We got ours off ebay (thank goodness!) and it's just like new, we love it and didn't pay a fortune. Some of these pushchairs cost as much as or more than a used car!! I definitely think second hand is the way to go (as long as the original owner has kept it in very good condition).

There's an NCT sale coming up nearby where I live... people warned me not to go being so far along as it can be a bit dangerous with people pushing and shoving... is it really that manic? Anyone ever been to one?

star6 · 10/09/2008 05:57

And good luck loulou!!!!

sambrads · 10/09/2008 08:15

oh loulou hardly slept last night thinking about ya its so hard to believe that each of us will be going next

cant wait to hear you and baby ok and things went well

i forgot to mention yesterday that asda have there baby avent on there is loads of very good bargins!!!

i feel alot more relaxed today as i have accepted myself that I have to take it easy and worrying about my mum will not help at all so i am relaxing and being the best mum i can to ds and in 19 days this little one is due and i will be grand

WheresTheAuPair · 10/09/2008 09:36

Goodluck loulou- hope it all goes smoothly!

hmm all this talk about buggies has got me thinking- its a real dilemma as I hardly use mine for DS (22 months) but am not sure how he'll react once the baby comes along. My friend who has 3DC's (all with a 20 month age gap!) says I'm mad to consider not getting a double as the extra seat will prove invaluable. She recommended the E3 but is the Vibe better?

I've got a sling but know I won't be able to use it til at least a month after the CS. Not sure whether to wait and see how I cope or be prepared for the worst!!

Its been such an expensive month so far- decided to get another cotbed as I still have to chase DS before bedtime (once I put him in there he's fine and snuggles down happily). I fear it would be like a Benny Hill sketch round here otherwise

Wrote a definitive list today of 'things to do before October' and its huge!!

SmudgeyDoodle · 10/09/2008 12:33

Hope all is going well with Loulou. I think we're all starting to take comfort in sharing our worries which is why there are soooooo many posts to keep up with. DS is spending quite a lot of time in front of the TV at the moment. He's got a teletubbies video and I think he's watched it every day for the last 2 weeks - how is he not bored with it!! I keep thinking that I need to pack my hospital bag but that makes it all too real so new things are still in a carrier and the others are spread around wherever. Tried to have a serious think about names a few nights ago and got nowhere so I think this one is going to be little baby no name. Sleep vibes being sent to everyone's LO so that we can all get a rest

SmudgeyDoodle · 10/09/2008 12:34

We still haven't got a buggy yet either. Don't have budget for a new one and the one we like won't fit through the front door. We're trying to decide if that is really as bad as it sounds.....

WheresTheAuPair · 10/09/2008 13:12

ok remind me again- why oh why oh why did i even attempt to go to mothercare world with DS this am? its not like I even expected to be quick but still- everytime I wanted to pay or be in one area that he didn't he just runs off or throws a massive tantrum.

Trolley a complete no no as there would be no way of getting him in it (think cat and cat basket) and I forgot his reins . He threw 2 of the biggest tantrums ever. It was so hard just holding him and fighting the urge to scream!! then after lunch he decided he wanted to get the other toy box out- as it was naptime I said no and then he refused to walk upstairs. arghhhh. days like this make me wonder how on earth i'll cope with two! as soon as i got him upstairs he was perfectly happy to go to bed and he's sound asleep now. Everything today has been a bloody battle with him . He's generally fine at home its out and about he lets the Force 10 strops out.

sorry for rant- needed to let off steam.

kettle on now and i'm comfort eating hobnobs which is a poor choc substitute

On plus side- have now got him new wellies and an all in one waterproof to take him down the park in...phew. hardwork or what tho.

pepperrabbit · 10/09/2008 13:13

Grr, just typed long chatty message and computer fell over (not literally!) so in brief.
Had some sleep last night, feel better, taking DS's to play centre later to tire them out while I drink coffee. That of course is the plan in my head.
If you see dramatic stories on BBC of woman rescued by Fire Brigade from top of ridiculous slide with umpteen 4 year olds wedged stuck behind her. It'll be me.
Have a nice day!

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 10/09/2008 13:30

loulou really hope everything's going ok, so so so excited!

wherestheaupair what a nightmare, at least the little terror is getting some shut eye so you can rest up!
