Thought we'd go with twinklytoes suggestion since she's gone and got herself admitted to hospital in a desperate bid for attention .

Have left everyone on the stats for now, but will do another cull of deserters soon....

sambrads poor you, toddlers don't really understand the concept of taking things easy do they?!?! I hope that things ease up a bit for you. myjob, that sounds really nasty, I hope that you are feeling better soon.

I'm shattered - dd is teething (I think) and has had us up for a couple of hours or more the last few nights, plus is having horrible nappies (sorry if tmi) and now has really nasty nappy rash.... She's down for her nap now, so I'm off to get a blanket and try and doze on the sofa before we head out to buy some more nappy rash cream this afternoon. Still, given that she only has 6 teeth still and is 15 mths now, I suppose she could really do with a few more .

Pregnancy wise, everything seems to be going ok here - only 7 weeks to go, so I really should start thinking about names for the poor infant!!!! We got our double buggy finally sorted and so I'm now feeling more relaxed and prepared.... Though it is huge, so I may cause a bit of chaos in town when I use it

loulou33 · 09/09/2008 11:30

Sorry you're feeing poorly myjob - rest up and take it easy

Sambrads >>>>>>

my mother is a bit like yours by the sounds of it - she lives 300 miles away so usually i only have to deal iwth her by phone and i only tell her certain things. I soooo sorry yours is not helping you out - if ds is so easy why can't she have him for a few hours?? My mum wasn't keen on coming up this week to help out as she's very busy and her husband would miss her (WTF!!!).

Any nurseries that could have him for a little bit each day??? I know its a bit late to be starting a new nursery but it might help? I have kept my son on at his nursery even whilst i am off so i can get some time with babs but also could he'd lose his place.

Anyway, even if he's at hime, i think ds might benefit from lots of telly time while mummy rests on the sofa. i know they shouldn't watch too much telly at this age but you need to rest and sit still woman! and its only for a few weeks. Also yes, the internal rumamging does hurt, my fanjo was very sore last night. bethoo at sex - no chance for me last night!!!

Will try to post again tonight as off to hosp first thing. Will try to post when get home at weekend (hopefully) to let you know what happens - very very excited.....

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 09/09/2008 11:52

at your mum sambrands...what the hell does she know anyway? Does DH have any holiday owing he can take, or compassionate leave so he can be at home a few days this week? do hope you manage to take it easy hun, can't be nice having a scare like that and knowing there's not much you can do about it

Star I wouldn't worry about size - my DH was 8.5lbs and was in an incubator because he was a month early and his mum had diabetes, whereas my friend had her 5.5lbs twins and was home within 24hours, I'm sure you're cooking a healthy one and that's what matters

I want more sex! DH hasn't instigated in aaaaaaaages because he said he assumes I'm always too tired, but now makes me feel like he doesn't want it with me as I have to instigate all the time...doesn't help that I'm ready for bed by 9:30 and he doesn't join me til coming up to midnight....might have to have some words, I get really anxsty if we don't do the deed for three days!

bethoo · 09/09/2008 12:09

sambrads all you can do is be stubborn and not move from the sofa. let dh see how hard it is to care for a little one on his own. you really must prioritise yourself.

just had a phone call from the baby shop i was ordering a double buggy from and the p&t dash i wanted is no longer being released this month due to problems with the brakes in the states they are not releasing til dec/jan til the brakes are sorted! what am i going to do? the vibe is over £500 and tho is is niice it is still a bit pricey for me! i like the mini city twin jogger but dont want to risk getting it then it not fitting out the door as it is a side by side! arrrrrgggggghhhh, dont want baby in a sling if i get my body back as not easy trying on clothes and figuring out what to do with the baby! selfish i know but need a new wardrobe though think i am disillusioned as to how i will pay for these clothes!
loulou i hope everything is ok for you and that you may see your little one before i see mine though i am still in denial on how she is coming out of me!

ajm200 · 09/09/2008 12:16

Sambrads Sorry your mum isn't willing to help. My mum is just the same. She's always telling me how she'd love to help with DS and how she loves him so much but when my SIL who was supposed to look after DS while I'm in labour announced she is moving abroad in a few weeks, mum suddenly decided that she couldn't help out after all. My friends heard about the dilemma and all offered to have him instead, even their friends offered. Friends are so much better than family.

Sorry you are so far away otherwise, I'd offer to try and help you even though I'm supposed to be resting too.

LouLou Good luck at the hospital!

Myjob Sorry you are ill. Try to keep hydrated if you can, lots of rehydration sachets are best as dehydration can bring on BHs as I've found over the past few weeks.

I've just been watching the american dateline programme on the hypnobirthing training that i've been doing and watched two mums give birth with very little or no pain. I really hope it works for me.
If anyone is interested the video is here

annwoo · 09/09/2008 13:07

sambrads what a scare! Please rest up, even if it means toddler watches too much cbeebies for next couple of days and don't think about your mum.

bethoo p & t always put back their release dates, even it seems if there are no teething probs. Maybe you can get one shipped from the states?

ekka also have a 15 month old teething (cutting her molars) so less sleep for past few nights, severe nappy rash and grumpy child. I know where you are. Recommend medised though - helps them sleep.

Good luck loulou

sambrads · 09/09/2008 14:36

thanks ladies so much have been sitting with my feet up and ds has wrecked the house but hey what can you do

loulou i am so excited for you honey
are you all sorted ??

bethoo · 09/09/2008 14:52

anwoo apparantly there has been a recall on many of the dashes so they are not selling any until the fault has been fixed. looks like i will have to look at option b. buggar got 4 weeks to get one and i am a fussy buggar!
had bloods done this morning as blood pressure has increased since last monday only to get a phone call ten minutes ago as the wrong blood tube was used so have to have them redone!

ajm200 · 09/09/2008 15:00

Ladies, Can I have your opinion please. Is it naff to dress a baby girl in handmade cardigan made from sparkly wool.

Asked my friend to pick up some wool for me as I'm not too mobile at the mo. I asked for a soft baby pink. She's got some with little sparkles in it. Not too sure I like it. Will it look cute or naff?

annwoo · 09/09/2008 15:13

bethoo there should have been a recall on the vibes as well my front wheel is still not right have to send it to distributors via shop this week. Apart from this buggy is excellent. Thankfully did not get around to selling my E3 so will use this in meantime.
Why are they recalling them - do you know?

ajm not sure about sparkly wool - just really impressed you can knit and have the time to

pepperrabbit · 09/09/2008 16:49

Hello all,
loulou - good luck with the early labour!
bethoo - sounds like they're actually trying to increase your blood pressure by keep stabbing you with needles!
ajm - I only have boys so anything pink sounds cute to me (except those nasty headbands but that's a personal opinion!). I was reading your post from yesterday (3 miles up the thread ) and without wanting to upset you, I had a second induction with DS2 and that took a week..... I am sooo not agreeing to anything beofre 40 weeks this time as we "lost" a weeks paternity leave effectively while I was in hospital.
Sleeping really badly here, waking a 4am and have been unable to get back to sleep then exhausted all day especially with DS1 starting school, DS2 missing him and all the associated trauma.
Hope everyone else well today - and that most of you have buggies! (I have a Mamas & Papas twin which was perfect for us - but too wide for the Post Office doors )
PR

bethoo · 09/09/2008 17:40

annwoo something about the break the shop guy was telling me. is the vibe good? it is rather [ricey, would i need the cocoon as may be able to afford it then. let me know so i could order one this week otherwise.
mw called and no longer need to have bloods redone.

ajm200 · 09/09/2008 17:50

Mothercare have very fast delivery on buggies. We are in a similar situation as the internet supplier that we bought from seems to have pocketed our money with no sign of delivery. MC can get us the buggy we want in 3 days.

annwoo · 09/09/2008 18:07

bethoo I love my vibe after using the E3. Kids look so comfy compared to sport & E3 design. Sunhood actually gives good cover easy to use in all different capacities ie baby/toddler, 2 x toddlers. Easy to push, light, both kids can recline when sleeping. Doesn't fold up small though.

A cocoon is not essential, dd grew out of hers at around 3 months. Maybe you could pick up a second hand sport cocoon. I know the vibe does their own, which I haven't purchased yet, think they are a bit wider and more padded.

Would recommend purchasing from a shop (although I find mothercare really expensive) as if you do have any problems with the buggy, they normally lend you a double.

annwoo · 09/09/2008 18:08

ajm what internet co. did you use?

ajm200 · 09/09/2008 18:14

Twoleftfeet. Supposed to be 5 week delivery when I ordered. 8 weeks later, nothing. Calls to customer service leave me frustrated as they just say they can't give me any update on my order, can I wait another two weeks. Same message for the past 3 weeks. Lost it with them and they told me that the logistics manager would definately be in touch with a delivery date.. but he didn't bother either.. now have dispute forms in with the credit card to get a refund.

jenwa · 09/09/2008 19:02

loulou thanks for info re evening primrose oil and other info.

sambrads Take it as easy as you can and remember it is you that looks after your DS NOT your mother so it is tiring!

star sorry to hear that about your mother, must have been a horrible/difficult time for you. Must be hard when we moan about ours . I am sure if she was here she would be the same as all of our mothers and know what is best (even when we dont agree)!

I am off to see consultant in the morning re how baby coming out and if placenta moved!

jenwa · 09/09/2008 19:05

accessorizequeen not yet had baby's, seen on another thread yest.
Sorry if you reading this accessorize, not meaning to talk about you, we were wondering if anything had happened as knew you could be very close to babies coming! Any news on how your babies will be coming out???

annwoo · 09/09/2008 19:09

ajm have heard such bad things about this company - mostly here on mn. Think there are threads on people trying to get money back from them.
Just what you need before a new baby arrives!

sparklesandnowinefor7weeks · 09/09/2008 19:23
