Poor you oli!! My journey takes over an hour on a good day as bet of a pain.

Oooooooh I'm very jealous that you only have 3 weeks and that those will be short but good for you!!!

Beans33 · 25/09/2008 11:09

Oh Oli - I'm so jealous - I've just had to come out of a meeting because I fell asleep. so have come out for a pee and a computer check. 6 weeks to go. Seems like an eternity, I must say!

Olipop · 25/09/2008 11:09

I know - lucky huh! And I'm leaving DS in nursery for a bit so will really have Wed/Thurs off to get organised for minipop and get all my christmas stuff sorted! Brilliant!

Veggiemummy · 25/09/2008 11:15

yes to the hip thing, sciatica has settled this morning but my left hip feels like it is not quite connected to my body and might collapse at any minute. DS & I finished off his Robot this morning and i thought he would play with it for a while but no he wants my continuous attention and he is so jumpy again today he has way too much energy and the weather is not great outside so can't send him out there, i love him to death and love his energy but need a little tea break. Also i have tidied this house and it still looks like a bomb just dropped on it. Luckily DS has gymnastics this afternoon so hopefully will burn off all his energy there, and DH is home tonight hooray!!!!

I don't think we will be coming down to London til sat morn now so will miss get together on fri night.

GettingBiggerBird · 25/09/2008 11:19

Hi evryone - sorry I've been a bit slack again about posting. Sorry for those of you feeling a bit rubbish, or with hip and back pain. I've found the pillow-between-the-knees is really helping with the hip pain, it just makes turning over in the night a bit more of a palaver. I've put an extra duvet on the bed to sleep on to make it all a bit softer too.

I am now so huge my friends are just laughing at me when they see me. I can still see the funny side too but probably not for much longer .

My twins are lying with the first one breach and the other transverse, and though they still have time to turn I went to see an acupuncturist today to see what she thinks. She also happens to be a midwife and is extremely knowledgeable about all things birth-related so I could even talk about birth plans and stuff. Anyway, she made ma laugh as she suggested that as well as 'talking' to the babies to explain why I would like them to move , I could try putting a bag of frozen peas where the girl's head is (she's the lower one likely to come out first) to get her to move. PMSL. I'll let you know how we get on .

Glad I'm not the only one growing out of maternity wear though now I feel silly for buying so much, it's barely been worn. Tracky bottoms for 3 months, here we come...

5 weeks left to go at work for me...

Veggiemummy · 25/09/2008 11:29

i have been mainly wearing track bottoms at home but wore them to drop DS at nursery on tuesday as i had to go straight to yoga, then i went and did some shopping in them. Had been a bit unsure about wearing them out in public too much as didn't want to look too Chavtastic (i do live in Derby remember)but they were so comfortable, so thought i might just always team them with a sporty looking top so i perpetually look like i am going to the gym.

turnip, I find blokes, even dads, just don't think half the time!

I have pillows either side of me & one between my legs but it doesn't seem to help. Guess its just one of those things I'll have to put up with!

Well I've found that not only is a good friend of DH's from school expecting her first a week after me, his old girlfriend from the same era is due two weeks later

Advised DH to read the Midwich Cuckoos and worry...

turnip, its a bit late for the 'keep your legs together' advice . Thanks, it only bothers me at night, during the day its fine as long as I'm active! I have a GP appt next week so might mention it to him then

Veggiemummy · 25/09/2008 12:09

also think it would be a bit uncomfortable for his GF if she doesn't know you that well it is not a good time for her to be 'hanging out' with you. it's hard if you don't know someone well to start with but staying at their house when baby stuff is happening, not good.

Veggiemummy · 25/09/2008 12:18

i think this baby is definitely head down and if this is possible i think his hands are well down there. I keep having these strange feelings in my bits, like he is tapping my cervix!!!! i have feelings down there like his head is wiggling around really low, it's a bit achy but not painful, very weird.

JamInMyWellies · 25/09/2008 12:22

Rosmerta & Turnip where were you with that advice 29wks ago.

I too am suffering a bit with the old spd doesnt help that I never seem to sit down. Am soo knackered DP out with friends last night forgot his keys fell asleep on the train yada yada yada..... so all that equals me being shattered oh and the drunken snoring all night long

God I dont envy those of you still doing tube journey's I always found a bar of chocolate to chomp on the way home helps. Have you noticed how much my advice centers around choccie.

Hi Disenchanted long time no see all good with you?

GBB looking forward to hearing the outcome of frozen peas.

Right we are off tot he zoo this arvo lord knows why it looks like its a bout to lash it down.

rosmerta · 25/09/2008 12:24

jam, whenever dh has a late night out I always make him sleep in the spare room!

OP posts:
Indith · 25/09/2008 12:30

I had a long sleep pillow thing between legs and along bump last time and another wedged behind my back. That seemed to help the pelvis sinking into bed feeling.

Wish my vivid dreams were so nice Beans, I just seem to end up racing around in mine and wake up feeling like I've been acting them out!

MW in a bit, anti-d injection. Fun fun. Must remember to piss in pot before I go.

Indith · 25/09/2008 12:34

I hate it when dh goes out for a drink. He is never that late but even one pint makes him smell different and I don't like it. Plus he then tries to cuddle me all night and breaths in my ear

Out of interest, have any of your men told you you smell different? Dh says I have a different (but nice thankfully) smell about me, like my normal smell but with added extra. Quite sweet of him to notice really, normally the sort who needs a brick dropping on his head to notice anything

Aagh. I just want to go home. We're doing furniture moving tonight. I am just going to stand to one side anf flail.

artichokes · 25/09/2008 12:39

Aaggghhhh

Morning girls

Am VERY uncomfortably today. The baby has lodged its bottom or its head right under my rib cage on the left hand side and keeps shoving it up further. I have to sit with my back really straight as if I slouch at all it feels like my ribs will break against the baby. I have been in two meetings and must look a right weirdo sitting bolt upright. At least I am now back at my desk and can gingerly lean backwards on my chair. MOVE BABY MOVE.

EffiePerine · 25/09/2008 12:42

yes Indith - DH says I now smell pregnant

arti: can you escape to a broom cupboard or something and try resting on your hands and knees?

Indith · 25/09/2008 12:43

Yes Turnip, 28 week one.

Ouch arti! That was ds's fave position to sit in whenever I had lectures, I'd lean over my desk to take notes and ouch!

SummerLightning · 25/09/2008 12:43

My DH was a bit tipsy last night too, and freezing cold for some reason. He insisted on giving me a hug, smelling of beer, and telling me he wasn't that cold. It was quite nice really though, once he warmed up.

I am sleeping ok still at the moment. mmm...sleep.

Oh and I still have 10 weeks at work to go!! V jealous of all you lot finishing soon.
