Hello

I have just found out that I am pregnant and calculate that the baby is due on 1 May. It's a bit early for me to be getting excited but I can't help it!

Is anyone else due in May?

missEdith, did you see my post below? I saw the GP today and she recommended baby aspirin as a possible means of reducing the risk of miscarriage.

Jaamy · 01/09/2008 20:53

inni - my DB is a pharmacist. I'm always pestering him about meds for me and DDs. In the past he has said that often the reason that meds say not to be taken during pg is simply that they just haven't been tested on pg women. Not ethical.

Go on MissEdith, stop this name-changing mullarky. You know you want to!

SesHasapinkline · 01/09/2008 20:56

Jaamy - I'm a pharmacist!! Your DB is absolutely right about the wording on the meds!

missEdith - I agree! Must be too much hassle! Tell us who you are!!!

Hello all....I have been lurking for a few days now....
Ordered one of those clearblue tests to trial (from here) and then did own test day before it arrived (cos "had a feeling") and BFP! We were trying, but it was still a bit of a shock, as had only really "tried" once, was going to go for it properly from this month!!!? So DH disappointed, cos he feels cheated out of lots of horizontal jogging! Yet also chuffed cos he has super sperm!

According to preg calculators online, should be due around 6th May 2009.

Currently have one DS - 2yrs 9months

Still feels quite unreal. No nausea symptoms (but none really with ds either, just some minor queasiness), feel very bloated, with lots of fluttering in tummy (perhaps pyschological?) and have a definite thirst thing going on. Oh and am exceptionally tired all the time!

Congrats to all others, here's to happy and healthy pgs for all.

x

Jaamy · 01/09/2008 21:10

Ses - aha, so my DB has indeed been telling me the truth!

Jaamy · 01/09/2008 21:11

Welcome Brownie. Congrats on BFP!

BrownieBells · 01/09/2008 21:18

Thanks Jaamy - not sure I'll be able to keep up with you guys - the thread has been moving at a rapid pace! Only manage to get on a few nights a week.

My GP also doesn't see you in early pregnancy - so have been to surgery, filled in form, and now have to wait for midwife to phone me to arrange first appointment (usually around 8-10 weeks apparently) then take it from there.

Still all a bit weird tbh!

Jaamy · 01/09/2008 21:33

I think we're all in a bit of a daze on here, wondering whether it's really true. I know what you mean about the fast moving thread. I forgot how fast ANthreads were. The only reason I'm keeping up is becasue I work form home and am constantly hopping on and off the PC whenever I can grab a moment. Usually more surfing and MN-ing than work, if I'm honest . You'll know when I've got a lot of work on because I'll be absent from the thread for more than a couple of days

Still can't keep up with everyone, though!

Overtiredmum · 01/09/2008 22:06

DH and I decided to start trying at Chrimbo for LO No. 2 as DS is now 3. So anyway, last week, got to that time of month, nothing. Just thought was late, nothing to worry about. So my DH said why not try that new Clearblue test you've got, just to check. Low and behold I'm pregnant!!!!!!!!!!!! Its still very very early days, but we are thrilled, although I am feeling extremely crap in myself, but just wanted to share with you all......... wahhhhhhh heyyyyyyyy!!

Am due 5 May 2009!

Sorry for my ramblings and apologies if I am being insensitive at all........ but

detsy · 01/09/2008 22:29

Hi All

Tired again and on sofa having done the 100th knicker check (in the hour )

My doc won't see pregnancies either we just book straight in with MW at 6 weeks plus. Made my appt today for a couple of weeks time - seems like an age away. I reckon I'll be 7 weeks then but with my mush brain from my last pregnancy I could be wrong...

I have a really embarassing issue and seeing as unlikely to meet you girls I think I'll share it on here. Its prob way TMI!! Have a really bad cough at mo and in night when I am coughing for England to the point of heaving I find that I leak - quite a lot... I put this down to a knackered pelvic floor tho I do the exercises all the time (honest guv) Have started having to wear knickers and a pad its that bad!! Even found myself looking at tena lady today....OMG Anyway hopefully the cough will stop soon as will the leakage - I do so hope so. DP is very confused as to the pants at nighttime

Momino - I love coffee and go off tea when pregnant. I allowed myself one cup a day with DD and she is fine! Also well into diet coke so caffeine all round I suppose.

Right then one night time bottle for the little and then off to bed for me

llareggub · 01/09/2008 22:49

Detsy, I think it is quite common in pregnancy, at least, that's what I'm putting it down to!

Jennster · 01/09/2008 22:50

Detsy - make friends with Tena (or depend) now you will feel so much more comfortable

detsy · 01/09/2008 23:09

OMG I just can't!!! Didn't have this prob first time round...

detsy · 01/09/2008 23:11

I put it down to my double (triple... lol) pneumonia without any help from drugs. If it carries on once my lungs are helthy again then I will be worried. Don't want to smell like a little old lady for 9 months..

Jennster · 01/09/2008 23:16

Neither did I I can tell you I went to postnatal classes after no2 and while I was doing the kegels, had a pelvic floor of steel. Unfortunately that only lasts if you keep them up.

Jennster · 01/09/2008 23:17

Tena keeps you clean and dry and smell free.

justgotbfp · 02/09/2008 07:51

Hello everyone and welcome to yet more newcomers. Am thinking of all those with worry symptoms especially displacementactivity...the waiting is torture.
Morning sickness hit with a vengence today (at work) with waves of dry wretching and several large errmmm removal of food products. Not sure how I am going to cope with work if this is what it will be like and concealing it will be hopeless..oh well guess it is a good sign...BFP tucks self up with hottie, sips on horrid ginger tea and feels sorry for her poor abused tummy muscles.

justgotbfp · 02/09/2008 07:52

hmmm may have given away that I am not in UK with that post as it is just and only morning for you lot

inni · 02/09/2008 08:03

morning everyone. Congrats to browniebells and overtiredmum and welcome. I'm still having some mild bleeding so getting scared every hour. Thanks for the advice Jaamy but I'm really scared and want o take my chances with the tables as I don't want to MC and they worked on me last pregnancy. Displacement are you still bleeding?went to see dr?
I'm glad to hear it's normal to check your knickers so often I though I had become a nut case. Starting to have less symptoms though what scares me more. Still feeling sick sometimes and the metallic taste but I'm less bloated and not sore bbs yet although I didn't feel them on my previous pgs til week 7 or 8. The leaking problem, pretty normal. I have it since my first childbirth and think it will always happen if I don't do pelvic floor for the rest of my life, so I guess it'll last forever.
somebody starting to lose symptoms?
I drink in the morning and infusion of fruits from HIPP and it's pretty good. I stopped drinking coffee and black tea When I started to try for DS around 4 years ago. Try to find alternative kind of infusions, they are not that bad.

inni · 02/09/2008 08:05

Hey justgotbfp where are at? Or you don't want to tell what I completely respect.

justgotbfp · 02/09/2008 08:16

Hi INNI you are one of the posters I have been concerned about with the bleeding etc, I hope your pills work for you. Even though I am not a well known poster I would out myself to the few who know me if I said where I was, will reveal if wee bean makes it to 12 weeks. It is a good sign that you still feel sick and have metalic taste. With ds my symptoms came and went on a daily basis (back then I didn't know enough to be paranoid as he was a first try, fine pregnancy baby) It is only since I have lost a couple I now overanalyse everything my body does. Whats are infusiion of fruits from HIPP is it a herbal tea of some kind, gotta beat the ginger which is just making no impact on sickness whatsoever. Not a tea or coffee drinker so that is not an issue.

inni · 02/09/2008 08:26

Completely understand your reasons. As nobody know me on this forum I don't care to give up the information.I don't know if you can have it where you live but is especially for pregnant with vitamins, zinc, magnesio,... with mango, banana, orange and red berry. It's not for sickness but It's nice to have in the morning or drink it cold during the day. You should check on the baby stuff in supermarkets or pharmacies.
I wasn't really scared when happened to me in my last pg but this time around and after reading how many women have suffered from mc I'm really scared and worried sick.
I can't wait until the 12w arrives. I'm 5w+1 how far are you?

justgotbfp · 02/09/2008 08:35

5wk+5 so very close to you. The worry is truely dreadful isn't it, I was just so take it for granted with ds and actually enjoyed his time indoors. Not even able to really admit to myself I am pregnant again yet just in case...every twinge is a cramp, every wipe looks pink, I even worried that the violence of my errrm food removals today could have dislodged the bean if it has burrowed in well enough which I know is just not possible. I will say that I know countless people that have had brown and red bleeds and been absolutely fine (know a lovely 6 month old whose mum bleed on and off throughout her pregnancy)

llareggub · 02/09/2008 08:37

Something shocking happened to me last night.

I was breastfeeding DS when I realised the bed was wet around me. I was leaking milk from the other boob! This has happened to me for a long , long time!
