Hello and congratulations to Detsy, seshasapinkline, DarrellRivers (whose MN name I have long coveted), wobblypig and Mamakim. Also welcome to anyone who I have accidentally missed - this thread is growing so fast now it's hard to keep track.
It's interesting to see when other people think they might tell their older children about their pregnancies. My DD is probably a bit young to understand but in many ways I would love to tell her now, if only because I would love to see her reaction (she is utterly hard to predict so I just want to know what she thinks). The problem is that I know for sure she would tell all of her little friends and (worse) her nanny and I am not ready for the entire world to know yet.
MissEdith LOL (and ouch) at the thought of giving birth to Thomas the Tank Engine. Let's hope these babies are more ergonomically designed!
JustgotBFP I hope the cold is better. I don't think I would get a smear. I would just be worried that it might irritate my cervix somehow. Maybe I am being paranoid though (quite possible).
Jaamy Lucky you getting a lie-in. Mine still hasn't materialised and like lots of you when I am not drinking gallons of water, feeling faintly queasy or having alarmingly vivid dreams I am sleeping. Am just soooo tired.
InnI I am really glad your scan went well and that the Doctor is taking good care of you.
Displacementactivity have you tried re-testing? There are lots and lots of stories of women spotting and being fine (and I don't believe that red blood is automatically bad, it is just that brown blood is often not bad IYSWIM). Anyway, no advice from me but I am sending positive, sticky thoughts to you.
