Hello

I have just found out that I am pregnant and calculate that the baby is due on 1 May. It's a bit early for me to be getting excited but I can't help it!

Is anyone else due in May?

Thanks Jools1. I think that's it - I needed a few days to keep it to myself, just let it sink in. And to be honest, I knew that the GP wouldn't do anything about it except make a note. I remember last time it all seems like a bit of an anitclimax - I went into the GP saying I'd done a pregnancy test, and she didn't even retest because she said they were accurate. Obviously we need to get into the system though, but that doesn't need to be done immed.

Hi Ladies
Detsy - I'm STILL suffering the Ryder cup - it's just so tedious but at least today is the last day, thank god! Why do they have to wear such horrid clothes? Fabulous to hear about your little bean at the scan - bet you were over the moon!

Sorry to hear your bad newsslightlycrumpled
Welcome newcomers and congrats.
Am feeling less nauseous today than yesterday but expect that it will just come and go - am thinking about maybe trying accupuncture - any suggestions/experiences would be interesting? Taking ginger capsules and Vit B6 already.

Have been SO tired today, had to go to bed at 4pm and slept till 6pm! DH looked after the DD's - didn't get much golf-watching done poor thing! He wasn't very pleased.
Need to start thinking about preparing for DD2's 2nd birthday on Tues - haven't even started making her cake yet. No energy but will need to find some from somewhere......
Baby glue to all and take care

carol7 · 21/09/2008 20:29

Hi everyone have found something which helps nausea its Gaviscon takes away acid feeling so feeling slightly better today. Take care everyone.

swottybetty · 21/09/2008 21:06

hiya all. slightlycrumpled, v sorry to hear your news.

halfmum - when i was preg with dd, for the first three months i only felt preg in my lower legs. really heavy, tender, sometimes itchy too. also i would have a strange feet claustrophobia if i wore anything other than flipflops. feelings went by second trimester - thank goodness as commuting was hell with all the standing waitng on platforms.

to all you ryder cup sufferers... i confess i am . i never watch golf but i love the ryder cup. we've been cutting costs so recently gave up sky. ah well, at least i dont have to sit thru hours and hours of football!

cote - i too am kind of symptomless, but know that by having written that i have just welcomed every type of pregnancy symptom gremlin to my door .

dandelioness - i too remember the first gp visit as being an anticlimax last time. specifically i remember coming out of the surgery and sobbing .

anyone else considering a homebirth? when dd was born six months ago (induced and epidural), i remember being so angry at the people who'd taken my money for the yogabirth weekend and so happy at the people who'd given me drugs. i've only known i'm pregnant less than a week, and already i've started to convince myself i can breathe this one out, and whatsmore it'll be nice

nauseous · 21/09/2008 21:37

Hello all, swottybetty, not given the birth a lot of thought yet. Ideally I guess I would love to have a homebirth, but realistically I'm too much of a wuss and would be happy to accept a more pain free route. Actually quite LIKE the idea of a yogabirth weekend. Do they suggest you get into any very difficult positions for birth?!

Seems everyone's feeling ropey, Carol7 glad you've found a solution! I've been wearing the nausea bands but can't get them to stay in the right place?! Plus can't wear them to work or I'll arouse suspicion... Going to be hard enough not to look green and sleepy as it is... I've spent today mostly horizontal and unproductive, bit frustrating but what can you do. As I've said before, very impressed at anyone who manages MS AND toddlers/babies.

Frazzled I'm taking Nux Vom tabs and Milk Thistle in water, seems to make me feel better - for an hour or two anyway, as does fresh ginger tea, and the B6. And cheese and onion crisps... Anything starchy basically. I'm also carrying lots of snacks around with me so I can nibble if I get hungry. Hope you start to feel better soon.

Dandelionness the GPs even find it hard to say congratulations, they're so blase to pregnancy.

detsy · 21/09/2008 21:49

Frazzled so it's nearly over!! wOO HOO - it's the trousers I hate the most!!

Had an excellent snooze today with my DD all snuggled up for 2.5 hours - she must have caught some of my pg tiredness.

Was it Carol saying grey hair coming through - thats been the norm for me for years! Oh and thread veins to die for in my delightful legs - will have to get them zapped somehow after this pg as def look like an old lady in the leg region, lol! I have decided that I'm going to invent a flattering changing room mirror. Went to M & S today for temp new bras and was shocked at the wobble factor - look so much better with clothes on these days!!

fluffer · 21/09/2008 21:54

ugh. I've had some heavy bleeding in the last 24 hours, going to hospital in the morning for a scan, so I'll know either way by lunchtime. Doc ruled out an ectopic pregnancy earlier this afternoon. Teary times...

detsy · 21/09/2008 21:56

Oh loula was tyhinking about you last night before I fell asleep! I used the natal hypnotherapy cds for my last pg - excellent to chill out and get a positive pg vibe going - there are a series of 4 cds - one for now, one for nearing birth, one for after and one which is just the accompanying music - really relaxing and full of good thoughts messages - may be worth a try. Have lent mine out to various friends and all had great results. You can get them from NCT website x

detsy · 21/09/2008 21:57

HI 33 and welcome to May babies - how old is your LO?

Can't help about the MS as fortunately don'thave any nausea but lots of people on here do - if you scroll back you'll see lots of tips/remedies that are working for the MS (or AS in your case!)

oh fluffer, i'll be thinking of you in the morning. Good luck. x

frazzledoldbag34 · 21/09/2008 23:18

nauseous what dose of b6 are you taking? I've been taking 25mg per day but it seems in america they recommend up to 75g. But my doc here seems to think there is no research to show safe levels and didn't recommend it. Confused!

frazzledoldbag34 · 21/09/2008 23:20

fluffer will be thinking of you in the morning - fingers crossed all is well.

llareggub · 21/09/2008 23:23

fluffer I had very heavy bleeding with DS, with clots and bright red in colour. I was about 8 weeks at the time and completely convinced that it was all over. He is now 23 months old and a real handful. It can happen in pregnancy and it can work out OK. I'll be thinking of you.

Febes · 22/09/2008 10:12

Thinking of you Fluffer

I went to bed so early -7pm last night. Which was lucky as DD was up feeding 3 times last night. Felt a bit ropey this morning so maybe MS is starting now but I'm ok again now.
I had a nice birth last time was in the birthing pool for lots but it was long so I had an epidural for the last 3 hours which didn't fully work. I am convinced that if the MW didn't try to break my waters I would have been able to cope longer with out an epidural. I don't think I could go home birth but want to have less intervention this time if I can.

fluffer · 22/09/2008 10:48

Hello ladies,

Not good news, I'm afraid - I miscarried this morning, so I'm off the list. Just had it confirmed at the hospital too.

Thanks for all the kind words and support - I'm now going to sit up, watch rubbish tv with my husband, and eat a nice big choux bun and have a crisp sandwich...

Good luck to all you other ladies, and I hope you have a peaceful and trouble free next few months!

frazzledoldbag34 · 22/09/2008 11:16

Hello Fluffer - so sorry to hear this. Take care of yourself x

CoteDAzur · 22/09/2008 11:58

Sorry to hear your news fluffer. Best wishes for next time.

Dandelioness · 22/09/2008 12:15

So sorry fluffer.

Dandelioness · 22/09/2008 12:18

By the way, I'm getting cramps in the right side of my stomach today. This could jsut be perfectly normal, right?

swottybetty · 22/09/2008 12:58

sorry to hear your news fluffler... enjoy rubbish tv, rubbishy food and good luck for next time

aquababe · 22/09/2008 13:31

slightlycrumpled & fluffer I'm really sorry to hear your news.

dandelioness I've had lots of wierd aches and pains most are just harmless, but if you're worried it's always worht mentioning to your doc

Had my scan today (had 2 mcs before so just needed some sanity)
Thank god for sonographers.
They were so nice and I didn't have to have vaginal (had too frigging many of those)
Saw heartbeat and babys growing well. unlike my 1st mc where the baby was showing up with a heart beat, but a little small, this one was actually a little big (I've given dates 3 days out so don't feel pressured for an induction again)
Can't stop crying though I think it just the relief. Though as my sis says I'm still not putting all the dates in my diary just yet.

Jools1 · 22/09/2008 13:56

Really sorry Fluffer Enjoy your crisp sandwich.

I phoned my surgery today, as DP keeps nagging me to " see someone " - turns out I have to see the GP first, so am booked in for tomorrow evening.

Promptly went out and bought some more sticks to wee on, so I can do one just before the appt and make sure I'm not making it all up
