Hello

I have just found out that I am pregnant and calculate that the baby is due on 1 May. It's a bit early for me to be getting excited but I can't help it!

Is anyone else due in May?

carol7 · 20/09/2008 15:02

Pretty much all day anything i eat has to be forced down how about you

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 20/09/2008 15:04

Aha, found something about legs. Its either varicous veins (nice) or back ache .... apparently during pregnancy, the release of the hormone progesterone enables ligaments around the pelvic joints to soften and stretch. Stretching helps....

carol7 · 20/09/2008 15:04

Sorry to hear about your legs hope you find some advice soon

carol7 · 20/09/2008 15:06

Thats great you found some advice i hope it helps

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 20/09/2008 15:07

Not feeling sick but not got much appetite. Felt a bit queazy after lunch. Trying to put feet up but difficult with DH on crutches and DS age 2 being 2.

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 20/09/2008 15:08

God knows what you are going to do if you feel sick all the time. Hopefully it will wear off as your hormones calm down.

carol7 · 20/09/2008 15:11

I hope so had nothing like this with my other two pregnancies quit a bit older now probably why. Sounds hard work for you with DS age 2 full of energy i bet. My partner is being great i find it hard as i am not one to sit around not doing anything. What happened to your DH to be on crutches?

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 20/09/2008 15:18

He had a hip resurface op 2 weeks ago. It going to take 6 weeks before he can go back to work and can't pick up our son until then. I really want to sort the house out a bit but have been pulled to the sofa.

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 20/09/2008 15:21

Hang on got to hand the laptop over to DH as DS insisting on looking at tractors on utube

carol7 · 20/09/2008 15:21

You need your rest the house can wait!

Hallo Ladies - what a beautiful sunny day - well it is here in Cheshire anyway!

I had a great scan this morning and we saw our little froglet for the first time - all ok and looking good so am determined to chill out now and stop worrying. My dates are also perfect so am 7+2 as I thought. Well worth the money for the peace of mind for me. Came home, freeezing cold and shattered so had a nap for an hour - blissful.

Claudia - yeah I'm up there in the old geriatric stakes with you hun - I'll actually be 41 when frog is born - OMG, lol

Very few symptons still - other than being very tired and light headed (oh yes and cold as per everyone else!!)

detsy · 20/09/2008 17:20

Oh frazzled still watching Ryder Cup? I am, it is so so interesting (NOT!)

Loulabella · 20/09/2008 17:51

Detsy, that's fantastic, you must be thrilled. Do you mind me asking how you arrived at such accurate dates? I thought I was 7w2d when I had my scan last week (going by the CB fertility monitor's 'o' date). They meaured the baby at 6w6d (CRL 8.2mm) and weren't concerned by the discrepancy. I am trying to focus on how great it was to see the little heartbeat but past experience and my natural tendency towards pessimism means I'm worrying that the baby's growth is behind and it's just a matter of time before we lose this one too.

SpangleMaker · 20/09/2008 17:52

detsy great news about your scan, you must be so pleased. Where did you get it done? Have been thinking of having one myself.

Actually not cold for once today - fab but cue paranoia about disappearing symptoms... what am I like?!

Off to see my step-sister in a play tonight so hopefully that'll take my mind of pg-related things for a while.

SpangleMaker · 20/09/2008 17:56

Loulabella try not to worry (easier said than done, I know). I'm sure there's a variation in measurements and it's always possible the fertility monitor was a day or two out - it can vary between when you measure the LH surge and when ovulation takes place. It's lovely you saw a little heartbeat!

Loulabella · 20/09/2008 18:20

Thanks Spanglemaker. I know you're right. I need to stop anticipating the next thing that could go wrong or I'll drive myself (and DH) mad. Is it just me or do any of you find as soon as you've passed one hurdle, you immediately replace it with another?

Enjoy the play Spangle. What a nice way to spend Saturday night.

SlippersAndPipe · 20/09/2008 18:34

Hi all. Thought I'd pop back after being awol. I am suffering badly from sickness. Curiously it mainly starts c 4pm (except the odd day where it's been all day) culminating in vomit an hour or so later. This has been goin on since week 5 (am now wk 8). Am pleased to say sspotting seems to have stopped so fingers crossed all is well.

Hope everyone's had a nice day; it's been glorious here too.

Big sympathies for all those other households with the Ryder Cup on. Yawn. It's on here too but at least means I get uninterrupted MN time.

Welcome and congrats to all the newbies, particularly Jools and Cote from my old thread.
Detsy sounds like you had a lovely day today
Loula I had date discrepancies last time but all was fine. There are huge variations in sizes to come to an average iykwim.
HalfMHB sounds like a nightmare in your house. The housework can definitely wait (or get your ds a dustpan and brush, my dd loves hers).
Carol big sympathies. Bleaughhhhh.
Spangle have a lovely evening.

Hi Gals,

It's been a few weeks since I last chatted and boy! the list has grown and so much to catch up on.

Big Hugs to all those who have had to leave us. Thinking of you all. God Bless.

Congratulations to all the new BFPs added to the list.

Mamino, I too had very bad PND and am terrified of it coming back. Already I am 'making plans and promises' to myself - to accept it, to ask for help, to speak about it and not to be afraid/paranoid, to make lists (eg of what needs to go into a baby bag for a day out etc - very difficult for me when I had PND as I coulndn't do even this task)and not to expect myself to be perfect.

Halfmum hope you are feeling better babe. And your DH too. Take things easy if you can.

divedaisy · 20/09/2008 19:13

Febes - I think the pelvic pain thing you're talking about may be symphis pubis dysfunction (SPD). I had this with my first pregnancy from about 5-6 months and it was incredibly painful. I hope I don't get it again. The pregnancy hormones naturally relax your bodies ligaments and tendons in preparation for birth, and even at this stage you may feel something. However it isn't until the baby is really putting pressure on your pubic area when it really kicks in. Now I'm not an expert in this, so maybe there are cases of it starting earlier. I know with my second preg (at the beginning of the year) I was aware of some tightening/stretching - i get similar symptoms now.

For all of you complaining of MS - can I unfortunately complain along with you. I have been violently sick last Thursday (OK it was after a cocktail night out - not too much alcohol)but I feel nauseous ALL DAY. I've tried ginger tea, biscuits etc and am turning back into a Red Head with the amount of ginger I'm digesting... and it's not helping I'm seeing my GP on Monday so will speak to her about it as it really is hampering my day. All I can do to alleviate it is to eat - and I don't want to be doing that.

The cocktail night went well - if you recall I wasn't looking forward to it at all. Any how for those of you who are attending weddings/parties etc and like me feel fat and frumpy but want something new to wear, try Wallis. I got a gorgeous black dress there for £40 that flows and covers over all bumps! Fab! I'll be wearing this one again.

divedaisy · 20/09/2008 19:21

Appologies for the two long posts - but loads to say! So I'm trying to break it up into bite size bits!

MS, huge sore boobs (I hate having to take my bra off - the freedom is painful - I'm now wearing a nighttime bra to bed!!), HUGE belly - I can still fit into my size 14 jeans etc, but I feel bloated and very uncomfortable. I can still suck my tummy in, however, it's too much like hard work!!!! I'm very moody and short tempered - poor DH and DS have been getting the sharp end of my temper. Very thirsty, tired, dizzy, warm, hungry, breathless, stuffed....

Cant think of anything else.

Haven't told anyone about this one. Would love to leave it long enough so that my 5YO DS can tell everyone that he's going to be a big brother - that's what he wants most! Bless!!XXX

Febes · 20/09/2008 19:21

Thats right SPD well I felt it all day the other day but not at all today so maybe its going to come and go. I must remember to keep my legs together. . It was so painful last time so I'm not looking forward to that.
Still feeling good and no morning sickness. DD had 2 birthday parties to go to today. A friend child was 5 and other friends twins turned 1 so we are both knackered but it was a lovely day.
