Hello

I have just found out that I am pregnant and calculate that the baby is due on 1 May. It's a bit early for me to be getting excited but I can't help it!

Is anyone else due in May?

sarah76 - Your HCG has still gone up so there is definitely hope there I reckon. Keep everything crossed and I hope you get good news in the morning. Take care x

llareggub · 11/09/2008 20:04

sarah76 they may not have doubled but they have gone up. Surely the HCG levels doubling guide is an average, some might increase more or less but increasing is a good sign, I think.

I'll be thinking of you tomorrow. I've also booked in for an early scan privately for peace of mind. My scan is at 9am so fingers crossed.

Hi Gals!
I've added myself here. According to some preg site calculator I'm due 17 May.
Really hovering here at the mo. I don't wantto get too involved yet... I had a ERCP back in April and I analysed every niggle i had until I was stressed with the whole thing! At present I'l exhausted, have huge swollen heavy boobs, don't really feel ill or haev had bad ms, but have low cramps. I'm just taking things one day at a time. I've my GP appointment on 22 Sept. I wish I could get an earlier one, but unfortunatlely that's the earliest I can get to see my GP of choice.

I'll be watching in the back ground! Loads on here - too many nearly to keep up with! Good luck to us all and our wee pods.

Hallo peeps, Sorry not been on for a few days as been away on business - how tiring was that..??! Missed my LO like crazy tho it wasn't particularly mutual as she was with her hero daddy who doesn't do nasty things like cutting her nails, washing her hair etc etc

I've booked a private early scan - can't stand the waiting anymore but its not till a week on saturday (7+2). Feel the same as everyone else re doubting, worrying but trying to be pragmatic (yeah right..) Got MW appt the Tuesday before that as well so will see what she says as well.

Re NT scans - we had one with my DD - was well worth the money and the staff were so lovely - we went to the fetal medicine centre in Harley Street where the guy who pioneered the scan has a clinic - def rec this to anyone before any invasive tests.

Ok off to paint toenails for big wedding tomo - how organised is that :O

Good luck and hugs to everyone going for scans and tests - fingers crossed for the baby bean pods xx

detsy · 11/09/2008 22:10

Oh whoever was asking about being in the north west - I'm in Sandbach, Cheshire with Leighton Hospital as push central!!

Jaamy · 11/09/2008 22:31

Sarah - hope you get a good scan tomorrow. At least your hormone levels are going up. Thinking of you.

llaregrub - my dating scan is on 20th Oct as well. Seems an age away!

Detsy - enjoy the wedding! We were at a wedding at the weekend and it was ever so hard to keep our little secret. Make the most of your toenail painting while you can still reach your toes!

I still have very few symptoms. Boobs are a bit tender and getting bigger. But then they would be like that before AF anyway. I hate this waiting.

llareggub · 11/09/2008 22:58

Is anyone else looking decidedly huge?

GordonTheGopher · 11/09/2008 23:11

Hi all - well I've had my first scare. Had really bad tummy and lower back pains that got increasingly worse during the day, with lots of diarrhoea. No bleeding but I got myself into a state and ended up at the out-of-hours doctor.

She said it wasn't eptopic - too early and my tummy felt ok. Didn't really mention miscarriage - I guess because of the lack of bleeding. She thinks it's just food poisoning / tummy bug.

It was pretty frightening as I was all on my own with ds asleep and dh still in London. I had a full-on panic attack with pins and needles in my hands! Friend came round so I could go to doctors.

I'm going to try and get some sleep now and not worry.

inni · 12/09/2008 06:37

Morning all. My DCs like every morning decided to get up 6 am (thanks a lot). Still having spotting but not too worried as it won't stop until the hematoma is completely gone, Glad that is not bleeding. Not feeling as sick as last week what is really good. I just see my family through the webcam and telling me every week how big I look hope I don't put on much weight this time. The belly is huge tho, guess I haven't got any muscles there after two pgs.
Olderbutnot happy to hear that everything went relatively well and you finally got it out of your chest. Sorry to hear about sickness. Get well.
Good luck on your scan sarah76, some woman get lower amount of hcg and their babies are completely fine. Your levels are still going up and if something was going wrong I guess they would be going down. Don't worry too much.
Slippers don't worry about the date you are welcome to stay, you are one of us already. Happy to hear everything is going ok.
llareggub good luck on your scan today.
Divedaisy congrats and welcome. Fingers crossed for everything to go well for you.
GordontheG sorry to hear about you feeling so bad but great that is nothing to do with the baby. Get some extra rest.

aquababe · 12/09/2008 09:20

Sarh I'm not sure if this will help but its a guide to hcg docs use that someone posted when i needed it last

Accordingly, the key to interpreting the true value of HCG measurements is to look at their progression. In general, the HCG level will double every two to three days in early pregnancy. Approximately 85 percent of normal pregnancies will have the HCG level double every 72 hours. However, as you get further along in your pregnancy and the HCG levels get higher, the expected doubling time increases.

For HCG levels 6000 mIU/ml, the expected doubling time is >96 hours.

HCG levels peak at about eight to 10 weeks of pregnancy and then decline, remaining at lower levels for the rest of the pregnancy. Here is a sample listing of expected HCG levels based on time after conception:

0-1 week: 0-50 mIU/ml
1-2 weeks: 40-300 mIU/ml
3-4 weeks: 500-6,000 mIU/ml
1-2 months: 5,000-200,000 mIU/ml
2-3 months: 10,000-100,000 mIU/ml
2nd trimester: 3,000-50,000 mIU/ml
3rd trimester: 1,000-50,000 mIU/ml
Non-pregnant females:

justgotbfp · 12/09/2008 09:37

hello, just a quick stop in from me, can hardly keep up with it all. at the moment, I am going in daily for hydration and allowed home at night...have never felt this sick in my life before, they are pushing for a scan but am a bit terrified of doing this as this is how I found out we lost the others...would rather keep on in hope for a while. they said it could be a molar pregnancy to cause such bad sickness, does anyone know much about this and what the symptoms would be other than the sickness??? Welcome to all new comers, I hope no one else is getting hyperemisis to this degree it is grim!! (have lost sooo much weight!!!)

llareggub · 12/09/2008 11:30

Had my scan today and was hoping to see a heartbeat.

We saw the sac and the yolk and was told that it was probably too early for a heartbeat Of course, despite seeing the things they'd expect to see at this point I burst into tears. I'm clearly not 7 weeks pregnant and they were very reassuring but I couldn't help think the worst.

I suspect an early scan wasn't such a bright idea because now I can't help thinking that this one is going to fail. Darn it. I wish I hadn't gone.

THey advised me to go back in 2 weeks because then tehy'd expect to see a heartbeat. I'm still really tired, and yesterday even felt a bit sick.

Can't help look on the negative side after 2 miscarriages this year already.

SesHasapinkline · 12/09/2008 11:39

llareggub - really sorry you've had such a stressful morning. I'm in a similar situation to you regarding history and phoned for an early scan. The EPU said they wouldn't scan me until past 8 weeks to guarantee seeing a hb so it is v possible that it's just too early to see it.
I'm only 5+3 at the moment and have been driving myself crazy with worry to the point where I've (almost) been having mild panic attacks. Someone recommended a book to me which is helping. I'm learning to stay focussed on day tight compartments and that is useful.

Febes · 12/09/2008 12:29

LG- You sound like your progressing nicely with the tears and the tirness definately a pregnant lady. Try not to worry .
I went for my booking in appointment this morning and meet my new GP as we have move recently and he seems very nice. I should have my scan at the end of October so that will be exciting. I still feel really well and energised which is weird cause with DD I was sick and so tired. My tummy has bloated out though and I can feel slight cramps and tenderness so there's definately a baby there. I remember all the knicker checking when pregnant with DD as I didn't realise that you feel period type cramps alot in the first few months. I feel much more relaxed this time and I guess DD distracts me and makes the days go quick. I have thrown up once but nothing like with DD. Maybe a boy this time???

Cies · 12/09/2008 12:45

I´m taking myself off the list. Had another scan today and m/c confirmed. I haven´t had any pg symptoms for a week now, and bleeding had increased, so it wasn´t a shock. DH is being great - a huge bag of m&ms was waiting for me at home after the scan.

Good luck to all of you.

Jaamy · 12/09/2008 13:45

Cies - sorry to see you off the list. Good old DH's they know how to look after us when we really need them. Hope he pampers you a bit more. Hope you get a little one to cuddle in the not too distant future. Take care.

inni · 12/09/2008 13:58

sorry to hear your sad news Cies but sure you will be pg again soon and this time will be the one. Good luck.
Dont worry llaregrub you'll see next time you can hear the hb. I think you do between the 6 and the 8 w so there is still time. Try to relax and dont think about too much (I know this is a hard task)

GordonTheGopher · 12/09/2008 14:41

Sorry Cies to hear your news. Your dh sounds lovely.

I had some spotting this morning, and coupled with what happened last night got me really scared so went to see doc. She's done a blood test which I'll get after 4pm this afternoon.

Will post later!

sarah76 · 12/09/2008 15:19

Okay, I hold my hands up. My instincts were completely wrong. I went for the scan this morning and not only was the sac NOT empty, they were able to see a heartbeat (and I saw it flickering too). She said the sac wasn't as big as it should have been, but that the baby was about the right size.

I completely lost it and burst into tears, and she said 'you weren't expecting that, were you?'. Afterward, DP and I were in a little room waiting for the paperwork and we were both crying like idiots. I was so SURE it was all over.

Before the scan I was holding it together sooooo well. . . .then as I was getting ready, an empty suitcase fell on me from the top of the wardrobe. So, being the ball of anxiety/hormones that I am, I kicked the shit out of it (and shouted at it a bit). DP came in with a look of astonishment and gave me a hug. Later on, I was able to laugh about it. . .'I beat up a suitcase!'

They asked me to come back in ten days just to check that the sac is growing properly and baby is still growing. I am still a bundle of nerves but feel utterly exhausted and just want a nap now.

Thanks to all for encouraging words. . .normally I'm an optimist, but just couldn't be positive about this at all until today.

aquababe · 12/09/2008 15:47

cies Sorry about your sad news. I found the mc avengers thread very useful and informative not to mention v supportive. Glad your dh is there to support you and with m&ms

llareggub I know how you feel 2 mcs really knocks the optimism and happiness out of everything. hopefully your dates are just a little amiss, but finger crossed for you

sarah congrats hope you can relax now a bit. babys do growth rates are different. they are just going by the average.

Docs agreed to a reassurance scan(not sure when yet)I've been hanging on to ask so I could be 100% certain there should be heart beat(have fairly erratic periods). So hopefully I'll be able to relax a bit next week, particularily as it's the anniversary of my 1st mc at the end of september

GordonTheGopher · 12/09/2008 16:40

Sarah76 - fab news!

I got blood tests back - BHCG level was 675 compared with 310 last Mon - doesn't seem to be rising as much as it should but doc said it was ok. Seems very low to me.

Oh well, am getting another blood test on Monday to see if it's gone up again.

llareggub · 12/09/2008 17:40

I don't know whether I posted this earlier but I used one of the mumsnet freebie digital clearblue, which told me I was 1-2 weeks on 30th August. That equated to 3-4 weeks back then so by that I guess I am really only 4-5 weeks pregnant now, probably just coming to 5 plus weeks. I guess that is good news then, isn't it?

I stupidly went by the doctor's calculation by `LMP which makes me 7 weeks, but I've always had stupidly erratic cycles.

So, I'm keeping up my hopes. Next scan is a week Monday, 22 September. Fingers crossed. I'm sure I'll do a test before then, too.

SesHasapinkline · 12/09/2008 17:48

That is V good news llareggub

That will put you at about 7 weeks on 22nd won't it?

I have to confess I've just done another hpt. Still feeling paranoid. The line came up good and solid immediately though so that's as good as I can hope for at the moment! I have a scan booked for 1st October.

Cies - really for your news. I'm glad your DH is being so great.

Gordon - I'll keep everything crossed for your blood test on Monday.

Sarah - you must feel v relieved. Congrats!
