Hello

I have just found out that I am pregnant and calculate that the baby is due on 1 May. It's a bit early for me to be getting excited but I can't help it!

Is anyone else due in May?

Cies so sorry to hear your news. Take care of yourself x

Gordon good luck for your test. Spotting is really worrying but it is often nothing serious

Sarah very glad your instincts were wrong! you must be elated.

I was convinced it was all over last night as I had more spotting which I'm sure was redder than before, and no symptoms. But it stopped in the night again. In the morning I did yet another HPT which came up immediately with a nice strong line so I guess I am still in the game for the time being.

I rang the midwife advice line today and I thought she was actually quite dismissive - I thought she'd at least ask about ectopic symptoms. She just said, 'Well there's nothing you can do about it, you will have to sit it out until your scan. Oh you could try resting'...... oh well, an excuse for a lazy weekend I guess!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend - anyone got anything exciting planned?

divedaisy · 12/09/2008 22:00

Oh I've just had a morning from Hell... I posted important documents Last Friday with Royal Mail using their special delivery next day service. They were guaranteed to be delivered by Monday... they can't be found. I am importing goods in from China which are due in next week... Now I must be pregnant cos I was a complete mess! Hubby phoned me at the office and told me 'You should've used DHL' - Yes I know that... he wasn't being all that supportive or helpful - he told me to phone Royal MAil back and give off. It's hard to give off to an automatated voice when in a queue listening to sh*te music.

OK sorry too much of a rant! Appologies xx

Anyway I'm now at home feeling totally exhausted. My tits are overflowing from my bra - I need JCBs to support me at the moment... My belly is getting uncomfortable and swollen... I'm feeling fat and frumpy at this early stage... Any ideas girls - I've a 'Do' to attend on Wed night and I've to wear a cocktail dress... Does anyone know where sell elegant tents... I don't feel very glamorous... xxx

I am also due in May (14th but will be an elective CS probably a week or so earlier - soooo looking forward to having my stomach sliced open for the 3rd time and this time having to book in for the pleasure ).

Quick question - can someone tell me what AF and BFP mean please??? (blame pregnancy brain but can't work it out)

missEdith · 12/09/2008 22:36

Cies I am so sorry take care

loonywoman · 12/09/2008 22:42

chubbymummy · 12/09/2008 23:06

BFP this morning, woohoo!!!!

If all goes well I'll be due on 15th May (although I had a lot of complicationd with ds so I'll be having a section - hopefully a week or 2 early).

DS is 3 now and dh and I have been trying for a brother or sister for him for nearly a year. I know it's early days but I'm so excited! Already thinking about names and mentally re-decorating the nursery - get some self control woman!!!!!!!

Congratulations to everyone on here!

chubbymummy · 12/09/2008 23:08

Sorry Cies, didn't read through this properly before posting. Didn't mean to be insensitive!
My thoughts are with you

inni · 13/09/2008 06:42

congrats loonywoman and chubbymummy and welcome. Spangle and Gordon we are in the same boat with the spotting problem tho I've been already 2w. I'm sick of it, and wonder when will finish. Not many symptoms just a bit sick sometimes throughout the day and veryyyyyy bloated belly. I think I'm starting to use pg jeans by next week or so cos my normal ones feel so uncomfy. Hope everyone is feeling ok and have a lovely weekend.

inni · 13/09/2008 06:45

sorry I forgot to congrat sarah76 for her good outcome. I bit more relieved, eh?

Jennster · 13/09/2008 07:00

Sorry to hear your news cies.

Just had a dishwasher delivered - at 6.30am! Brilliant though because now I don't have to wait in for it and I can sort out getting my glasses fixed (involved in a tug of war) and get to a meet up with my friends and their toddlers.

Still no symptoms here, apart from waking for good between 3 and 4 in the morning and being ravenous. My boobs feel deflated and ds is getting less milk I'm sure. Got my first appointment on October 3rd. I gave in and made it earlier than I wanted to let on, but at least they can't give me an early scan now and I will have something decent to look at. For dc2 I had no idea of my dates, so when I got my scan I was only 8w and so you could just see a blob. It's amazing what 4w can do.

Have a good weekend everybody.

llareggub · 13/09/2008 10:16

This thread is getting so long now.

I stumbled out of bed this morning and did another pg test just for reassurance. It was such a relief to see such a solid pink line appear so quickly.

I'm going to try and relax now and wait for my next scan. Worrying can't help, can it? The lovely blue sky outside is helping too. Just wish my kitchen fitters would hurry up and get here so I can take DS out for a good long run in the park. I really want to make the most of the sunshine!

We're having a new kitchen fitted and have been without services all week. I am heartily fed-up of paper plates and washing dishes in the bathroom. Hopefully if the men ever turn up I might even get to cook in my new oven tomorrow, hurrah!

justgotbfp · 13/09/2008 11:15

home again tonight. Cies, am so sorry for your news, it is so unfair. To all those with spotting and worrying symptoms I have you in my thoughts a lot. Getting very bruised from IV now and so very very exhausted. It is nice being able to go and spend nights with my boy though. Will find out on Monday what we are going to do about an early scan. Did anyone know anything about molar pregnancy and what this would mean as this is one thing they are suspicious of with how sick I am...I have been pushing out the early scan as some of you have found it cna be less reassuring than not having one a times. LLareggub, I haven't taken more tests but do keep checking my original one to make sure it is all real and that is with all the sickness, I still can't really believe it is true and that it might be ok (another reason I am too scared for the scan)

ellsbellzie · 13/09/2008 11:56

Cies So sorry for your news, hope to see youn about soon!!

Hi everyone sorry haven't been on here for several days, just got out of hospital, it unfortunately ended in Eptopic. The waiting around was the worst time ever though it did give me time to prepare myself for the worse. My HG level was 225 then 48 hrs later it had gone down to 80 so they confirmed it as eptopic and said I could go home. I feel a little uninformed, I thought they would at least scan me again to see if the mass they found on my left side had cleared, as it wasn't in my tube though between my ovary and something else?? They didnt really tell me what would happen next, I started bleeding yesterday and have really bad period like pains I'm asuming this is normal they also didnt tell me how long I should wait before trying again, Im hoping to get more information on Monday when I hopefully have my last blood test.

I just want to thank everyone who has given me there kind words and support, and wish you all the very best. Would someone mind taking me off the list as im not sure how to do it. I really wish I was carrying on this journey with you all but I guess it just wasn't ment to be, hopefully I'll see you around sometime soon!!! God Bless xxx

flippineck · 13/09/2008 12:06

cies and ellsbellzie - sorry to hear your news. Thinking of you.

fluffer · 13/09/2008 12:52

Hello ladies!

I'm due around the 2nd or 5th May, first baby at age 38. Taurus baby! (so that's two of us in the family, me and he/she (or maybe they)).

It's all quite scary, I'm not sure what I should or shouldn't be doing, just waiting to hear when my 12 week scan will be.. my docs seem to think I wont see a midwife yet? (see, I'm confused!) I was sent to hospital for urine and blood tests, which both came back fine, so now I apparently just have to wait!

I've not had much sickness, but have felt queasy a little bit when I've had an empty stomach.

Anyway, just wanted to join and say a big hello!

SpangleMaker · 13/09/2008 13:25

ellsbellzie I was wondering what had happened. I'm so, so sorry to hear it wasn't good news Take care of yourself, and hopefully you will be back on an antenatal thread soon.

justgotbfp I'm glad things have stabilized. It must be awful to keep having to go back for injections though. Good luck for the scan, when you have one. I would have thought you'd be far on enough now to see something, but I guess the longer you wait the more you will see.

Welcome to loonywoman chubbymummy and fluffer

fluffer I'm having my first at an "advanced" age Am 37 now but just turned 38 by my due date, so that'd be two (or more!) Taureans in this house too. I would have thought you'd see a midwife before your 12 week scan, but then where I am virtually everything is through the midwives - in fact my GP admitted he knew very little about ante-natal care indeed!

fluffer · 13/09/2008 13:33

spangle - thanks! (btw, a Cocteau Twins fan? Good taste!) - and thanks for the midwives info - I think I'll phone my doctors again on Monday, they seemed to indicate I'd hear nothing until my scan!

I get worried I'll be seen as a pain.. I went into the docs on Friday to pick up all the forms I'd need for free prescriptions and so on (so I'm ready when I can apply, which seems to be after the 12 weeks?), and the Practice Manager didn't know much about them at all, telling me my Midwife would help!

Jennster · 13/09/2008 14:35

Think the midwife needs to sign the form fluffer, and the certificate is valid from the first day of the month they receive the certificate in Newcastle.

aquababe · 13/09/2008 14:51

last time my midwife made me do the free prescription forms at 8 weeks so she could get free urine tester sticks.

ellsbellzie so sorry it wasn't a positive outcome. I hope you get all the support you need

justgotbfp wow that sounds like your having a pretty tough time. Sorry don't know much about molar pregnancies other than it not being good, but i hope it's not.
It makes my constant nausea and gagging sound positively mild.

hello and congrats to fluffer, chubbymummy and loonywoman

I've had to hide my dds potty and make sure all toilet business is in the loo after a horrid puking/cleaning incident It's so much tougher with a lo i don't know who those with younger ones are managing

7 weeks today!

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 13/09/2008 20:19

Hello,

I got a BFP this morning 1-2 weeks pg it says. I have a 2yr old DS and a husband who has just had a hip resurfacing operation (too much running!). Was supposed to go to Houston this week with work but glad I don't have to now as pgt and it has been trashed by a Hurricane.

Terrible indigestion under my ribs, don't remember this being bad last time.

Best wishes to all.

SpangleMaker · 13/09/2008 20:25

fluffer yes, a Cocteau Twins fan in my more feminine moments

Welcome & congratulations HalfMumHalfBiscuit (now that brings back memories of another 80's band!) Lucky escape not going to Houston!

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 13/09/2008 20:31

Thanks SpangleMaker.

Soooo glad to meet up with you girls in the same boat. I had good pregnancy last time with not so good birth (Emergency C section) followed by Post Natal Depression. So fingers crossed for this time - currently in denial. Better get myself down to see a GP/Midwife soon and work out a due date...

Wishing all of us luck. XX

p.s. I'll be 35 by the time the baby comes.

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 13/09/2008 20:41

Just done pregnancy calendar and am due 23rd May.

Momino · 13/09/2008 21:12
