Hello

I have just found out that I am pregnant and calculate that the baby is due on 1 May. It's a bit early for me to be getting excited but I can't help it!

Is anyone else due in May?

I'm going for a blood test today at the hospital - then they will give me an early scan at 7 weeks as I had a mmc last time.

Momino how did you manage to have a 2 hour nap with two young children? DS has just dropped his nap so there's no rest for me unless I stick him in front of the tv for a bit...

nauseous · 08/09/2008 08:36

Congrats flippineck.Gordon the gopher - I love your name!!! No symptoms, though I'm due the same day as you. (Harrumph, still shouldn't be complaining.) Good luck with blood test and sorry to hear about the MMC I know they're sh*te.

Momino where did you get the nausea wristbands from please? I was told Boots don't sell them and want to get some just in case - in advance this time... thanks in advance

Cies · 08/09/2008 09:15

Hi all. I am following this thread but have nothing new to add.

I'm just impatient for my doc's appt tomorrow afternoon. I don't really know what they'll offer me, but I'm pretty sure it'll be a battery of blood tests - I'm in Spain and the medical profession here LOVE blood tests .

I'm not complaining (yet).

GordonTheGopher · 08/09/2008 09:18

Nauseous you can probably get them from Lloyds pharmacies or local independent ones. TBH they didn't do anything for me last time, but I guess anything's worth a go.

Cies hope you get an EDD today!

inni · 08/09/2008 09:25

Hello and morning everyone!!!
Very happy to give you some good news. I had my scan this morning and The embryo is 6w exactly, heartbeat and growing perfectly. The bleeding and spotting is due to a hematoma on the uterus wall and my body is trying to get rid of it by the discharges. It happened exactly the same when I was 10 pg in my 2nd pg. But last time I have to be hospitalized for three days cos the bleeding was really bad. I hope this time is less and don´t need the hospital. So just rest as much as I can keep having the tablets to stop it and the hormones to prevent mc and next scan in 9 days. So I´m relieved that there is a cause of the spotting and is nothing to do with the baby or the sack.
Hey bigtree congratulations, I know you from the TTC thread. Very happy to see you around here.
Congrats to and febes and flippineck and welcome.
Sorry detsy you got the illness too. Try to rest as much as you can to get your strength back.
Ellsbellzie Hope you get the scan and get some reassurance that everything is ok

inni · 08/09/2008 09:27

Hey CIES I´m Spanish but living in Czech Republic. Are you Spanish or just living there?
If you don´t have much to add is cos you are feeling ok and this is good.

SpangleMaker · 08/09/2008 10:46

Just a quick one as I'm supposed to be working!

inni very pleased to hear your scan went well and the bleeding is nothing to worry about. You must be so relieved!

Congrats to Febes bigtree and flippineck

aquababe · 08/09/2008 10:59

hey inni thats good news about then bean. Hope youe bleeding stops soon

congratualations to everyone else whose just joined.

Still feeling sick as a dog here. Thinking of making docs appointments soon, but trying to drag on for as long as possible. Though my new doc is really nice, I'm supposed to go and see the midwife, who I'm not that keen on.

Anyone know much about Pembury maternity ward in tunbridge wells?

frazzledoldbag34 · 08/09/2008 11:33

Morning and Congrats to the new additions!
Have just been to docs as used my fancy free Clearblue test this am to confirm that I AM pg - it immediately flashed up PREGNANT within seconds. Then waited a bit before saying 1-2 weeks (since conception) making me 3-4 wks preg. I reckoned I was about 4 wks but not really sure.
HOWEVER
just went to see the doc who calculated from my LMP of 21 July that I conceived around 5 August making me 7 weeks pregnant already!! I think she's wrong, but she said it didn't matter that my coil was only taken out on 1 August and I had bleeding for a couple of weeks after - apparently the bleeding was coil related not baby related and wouldn't have stopped implantation.
So am now very confused. Am going to be sent to the hosp for a scan in a couple of wks so will find out then (although suspect that I'm right and the doc is wrong). If the doc is right I'll have to leave this thread and find an April one - boo as would be due 27 April.........
Hope everyone else well. No morning sickness for me yet either - reinforcing my theory about 4 wks not 7!!!!

Gateau · 08/09/2008 11:41

Am a bit scard about tempting fate by posting on here
How do you calculate exact due date? Si ti 40 wks from date of last AF?

Gateau · 08/09/2008 12:05

Have calculated due date according to what one website has said. Am apparently due around 14 May.

GordonTheGopher · 08/09/2008 12:14

Ooh hello gateau! Recognise you from other threads! Congrats.

Yes I've just used internet ones - typed in due date calculator and got loads. Doc may give you a different date as I think they still base their dates on a 28 day cycle whereas lots of the internet ones adjust to different cycle lengths.

Gateau · 08/09/2008 12:25

Thanks Gordon. Congrats to you too!

GordonTheGopher · 08/09/2008 12:26

Adding you to the list gateau when you've properly worked it out .

Have you got other dcs?

Gateau · 08/09/2008 12:27

By the way my DS is 16 months old now. He'll be 2.1 when the new baby arrives- IF all goes to plan.

Gateau · 08/09/2008 12:28

Have worked it out at 14 May, Gordon.

GordonTheGopher · 08/09/2008 12:33

Yes I make you the 14th as well. Changed mine according to cycle length.

flippineck · 08/09/2008 13:58

Congrats all, it's getting to be quite a long list now!

I was just wondering - how many of you had one of the fancy pants ClearBlue tests on trial? We did, I really wasn't expecting success this month so it was very exciting to get that almost instant pregnant and then 2-3 weeks!

Momino · 08/09/2008 15:08

hi all, ok today? hope so. congrats to everyone new joining.

nauseous, got the wristbands at Boots for last pregnancy so about year and half ago - they don't sell them anymore? try a health food shop where they may sell them for seasickness.
inni, brilliant news on the scan - am so happy for you, must be a relief.
gthegopher, i was very lucky to have had a 2hour nap. my 2.5 year old is starting to skip naps but she needed one that day. it just took a while to get her down, she kept getting out of bed. but when she went down, both she and baby slept about 2 hours plus. also, DH was home in case the girls woke up before i did. can't remember when I last had a nap like that!

speaking of naps, i've got a toddler who's escaped from bed to go tackle (not literally). take care all, xxx

Febes · 08/09/2008 15:12

I also had a clearblue trial test. Great to not have to buy one.. I have a booking in appointment at the doctors on Friday. I've moved house since DD was born so will have to go to a different hospital. Wasn't overly impressed with the last one but I know what to expect there.

millionsaway · 08/09/2008 15:45

Hello everyone, may I join you?

I am new to MN and got my BFP yesterday!! Think EDD is around May 13th.

I also have a DD who is 20 months old.

ellsbellzie · 08/09/2008 16:20

THATS GREAT NEWS INNI! Hope mines is a good as yours, when I eventually find out!!

Cant believe the NHS, what do we pay our taxes for?? I have been bleeding all over the weekend, so I rang the midwife centre first thing this morning, and the stupid receptionist wouldnt let me speak to a midwife as I had not been into see them yet (my appointment isnt until 18th) I demanded I speak with someone, she ended up putting me through to the EPU, out of town. The nurse told me as I had been bleeding my doctor should of refered me over the weekend, as they are open, she explained they would see me today but could'nt do so without a referal so I should ring the midwife centre where I live, she also said that they actually have a EPU and could scan me without me having to drive to them 30miles away. So I called back my local midwife unit and managed to speak to a midwife, what good use that was!! She told me that as I was only in the early stages of my pregnancy I needed to speak to my doctor, she couldn't do anything unless he referred me! God I could of screamed!! So I rang my doctors and was told the doctor would ring me back, that was at 10am this morning, after numerous phone calls he finally rang me a minute ago. He advised me that it was now to late to have a scan as they only scan in the mornings, again I wanted to scream!!! He said if I wanted I could go down and see him this evening, not much good that will do as he cant scan me, even with me protesting he said there was nothing more he could do. So after a day of anxious waiting Im still no further on!!! Dont you just love the NHS?

ceeceeanne · 08/09/2008 16:47

Hi all! Know what you mean about the NHS, would be different if the doctors were preg - special treatment!
Anyway can I join the group?
Due 4th of May ish so only 6 weeks but feel more! Feeling fat, have throbbing boobs and heartburn oh and tired all the time!
Have a daughter who has just turned 9 so quite a gap but still young!
Where can I get a free clearblue, feel left out!

SesHasapinkline · 08/09/2008 17:38

Hi!

ceeceeanne - there's a thread about the CB freebie which tells you how to get one. Think it's in a couple of different topics - conception and site stuff I think.

inni - so glad about your scan - fantastic news

I'm still not really counting my chickens. Keep getting very teary and worried that something will go wrong again. I know I'm sounding like a stuck record at the moment. I phoned the EPU today as they said to phone and get an early scan when I got pg again but they won't scan me for another 3 weeks! Don't know whether I'll still have my sanity by then!

Welcome to all the newbies - list is looking good and long

ceeceeanne · 08/09/2008 17:59

thanks ses
