hedgepig · 05/08/2008 21:13

Not as good as the boots clearance store but bots.com have a 20% sale on at the moment off pretty much everything baby orientated. well done Yummum on your bargains.

bethboo - poor you , this is not the time you need extra stress i your life ((( hugs)))).

I am so tired, my sleep is so poor now that I wake up more worn out than I go to bed. I'm going to try a early night.

I don't think a stone is that much. I have put on about 3/4 but I was 14st to start off with and I eat less when pg cos I tend to loose my appitite. I think CSWS posted a nice little break down of placenta, fluid etc early on I'll see if I can find something.

bethoo · 05/08/2008 21:31

myjobismum feel like a fat bloater next to you skinny ladies with little neat bumps!

someone mentioned before about raspberry leaf tea and there was a thread about it a few days ago. you can start taking it at about 32 weeks, i am getting some capsules this week!

bethoo · 05/08/2008 21:32

i have gained stone and 10 pounds........

hedgepig · 05/08/2008 21:36

Baby: 3.4kg (7.5lb)
Placenta: 0.68kg (1.5lb)
Extra fluid: 1.36kg (3lb)
Increased blood: 1.25kg (2.5lb)
Amniotic fluid: 0.8kg (1.5lb
Uterus: 0.9kg (2lb)
Fat deposits: 3.18kg (7lb)
Breasts: 0.5kg (1lb)
TOTAL GAIN: 12.02kg (26.5lb)*

I got that from here (could be total nonsense but looks reasonable)

bigmouthstrikesagain · 05/08/2008 22:29

V kind to say I have a neat bump Bethoo must be a flattering cmera angle (note to self: must take all future pics balancing camera on the microwave)it don't feel that neat

I am also sorry that you are having to deal with all that shite from your 'd'p - not good anytime least of all heavily pg. Eat all the pringles you need

I have been chopping bits off ds b'day cake this evening - but I don't feel too bad about it as he only wanted to eat the icing anyway. I spent ages making and icing the cake this am - then he licks off the sprinkles/ choc buttons etc. and leaves the rest! (still his birthday his rules). I have found Tesco's own brand indigestion tabs are far more effective than gaviscon for me, so i have a side order of peppermint tablets with my cake - tasty!

CantSleepWontSleep · 05/08/2008 22:35

Oh yes, very well. I was sort of like a BOGOF version of you to start with .

bigmouthstrikesagain · 05/08/2008 22:35

I never weigh myself so gawd knows how much I have gained - I imagine it will amount to a stone or so by the end - I go by dress size generally which is not much use when pg.

I reckon I will be about 14 stone now but I just can't work up much interest in my exact weight as a rule. Though strangely I always obsessed about knowing how much dd and ds weighed/ gained during their 1st years.

star6 · 06/08/2008 07:35

I was 8.2stone (115 lbs) prepregnancy and at 30 weeks I'm 8.9stone (124 lbs). Looking down at bump I FEEL like it's a lot more! I don't think weight measures accurately... I'm convinced that I've just lost a bunch of muscle from not having as vigorous of workouts.

07mumstheword · 06/08/2008 09:17

Thanks for the dolls house website CSWS it looks lovely.

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 06/08/2008 10:39

my latest bump pic taken yesterday at 29weeks is on my profile...how much bigger do we all look when underclothed? have to admit now to loving walking around my house with t-shirt riding up to my boobs...all under the pretence that the baby needs air and light

i started at 10st 2lbs and weighed myself the 1st time last week - now at 11st 4lbs so guessing a lb a week will bring total weight gain to 27lbs...eeeeeeeeeek!!!

ugh bethoo for you...there seems to be an influx of DH's and P's being generally rubbish, I agree that pringles are only way forward

ronshar · 06/08/2008 11:41

Bethoo at least you are having a girl, no more boy rubbish to have to deal with!. Your DP sounds like he needs to grow up a bit.

I dont ever weigh myself so have no idea what actual gian is. My bump has completely changed shape now. My 'friend' pointed out that until recently I looked a bit portly, now I really look pregnant!! Not sure whether that was a complement or not.

All I know is that I have veins that look like a road map!

I thought that we shouldnt take raspberry leaf tea, to early, as it is supposed to bring on labour? I know nothing about it so am bit confused.
Also Arnica is the best thing to help reduce the swelling that will occur and also will help will wound healing for C-Section.

Wee in the shower.
Sit the wrong way round on the loo for at least the first week.
Have cold water in jug ready to pour over yourself when doing a wee, co-ordination is key. (As already mentioned).
Your first poo will feel like you are giving birth to another baby. I didnt know that before DD1 and scared the living daylights out of myself. Not nice sat on the loo in hospital thinking the world is falling out of you.
You might do a little poo while pushing. Midwives never comment but be aware your birth partner may not expect it. Luckily I havent so far but number 3 might be the one.
Water births are messy. You will be sat in a pool of floating stuff & blood. Not for the squemish.
Tens machines are a brilliant distraction. I used one for both DDs. DD2 it was more effective but I was at home and it was much better all round.

I hope those are not too scary for the firsttimers. I have tried to remember a few of the things that I wish I had known but didnt.

Breast pads I can not stress enough. How ever many you think you need double it! That may be just me though. I could feed the five thousand the amount that gushes outa me!

SmudgeyDoodle · 06/08/2008 11:55

My goodness girls. I'm away from the computer for a few days and come back to 7 pages of new messages! Glad everyone is chatty despite the aches, pains etc. I'm getting a bit of pelvic pain but that's cos DS still wants to be carried lots. He's 18 months today and is in a big boy bed and doing great. He sits up in teh morning and shouts for us to go and get him (Some people were wondering about 18 months being too young) I haven't bought anything for LO although do have most of stuff from DS. Just started to think about hospital bag but haven't got enough brain space to plan what I need to buy. I got raspberry leaf tea capsules (from a health food shop) last time and they hardly had any taste - which is a good thing!
We are going to get DS some kind of present but not sure what yet. I think maybe a train set as he loves them whenever we go to other people's houses. I think I need to start looking on ebay as I bet people sell loads off for quite cheap.
