bethoo · 24/08/2008 22:32

bigmouth get yourself on a big bouncy exercise ball.

bigmouthstrikesagain · 24/08/2008 22:43

Excellent suggestion Bethoo - I have just blown it up actually

bethoo · 24/08/2008 22:47

i am also sure iv read it somewhere going down the stairs head first on your hands and knees helps move the baby around though maybe perhaps just diong it in the living room on all floors raising your back legs up may be just as good.

i am constantly pushing bits of body back in ads they protrude out of the side of my tummy or under my rib cage!

bigmouthstrikesagain · 24/08/2008 22:50

Just had a look on 'baby centre' and they suggest kneeling on all fours with bum waggling in air for 15 mins every 2 waking hours! Might cause a sensation at the car boot sale we are meant to be doing tomorrow though

BlueJellie · 24/08/2008 23:03

anyone else feeling really fed up? I've got 2 weeks left at work and it feels like the longest 2 weeks of my life, dealt just want to sit on my settee in my pj's until my baby is born. This is the first time since those first 3 months where I've felt really tired and down, annoyed my DP has gone out tonight - feeling like I expect him to stay in every evening with me & not drink because I have to! Just generally miserable & not enjoying the pregnancy at the mo :-(

BlueJellie · 24/08/2008 23:06

oh & I know all about the rib pain! Had two days off sick a few weeks back cuz baby was digging in my ribs and couldn't sit up straight! The all fours bum in the air method worked for me

Emmsy1 · 25/08/2008 05:42

hello girls, a bit early I know, but DH too noisy when he got up, and I couldn't go back to sleep. 07mtw I am a bit odd too, I have finished washing and ironing all the baby's stuff. set up the new moses basket yesterday and cleaned the mattress with dettol before I put the new covers on. Infact everything new has been either washed with fairy soap powder or cleaned with dettol My hospital bag and baby bag all packed, and I started on my xmas presents in july! I ordered 2 nintendo DS's off catalogue. Have 2 start early with having 4 children already or wouldn't be able to afford to get it all at once, thats my excuse, and I'm sticking to it!

star6 · 25/08/2008 06:10

Emmsy1 I'm up at 4 each day! Almost finished packing my hospital bag, but not quite - where do you buy those maternity pads
Just in a normal shop or do you have to go to mothercare or similar?
Watching Discovery Home and Healthy baby programmes now...

star6 · 25/08/2008 06:10

Ha ha! Meant Home and Health
not home and healthy!

Emmsy1 · 25/08/2008 08:09

sure I got my maternity towels from Tescos star

jenwa · 25/08/2008 09:44

pistachio Mine is very thick and wavy so will see what happens, will have to straighten in though. Looking abit like a mushroom this am!!!! Jusy needed a change, makes you feel good. I would love curly hair though, how fab.

jenwa · 25/08/2008 09:46

BlueJellie HOpe you feel better soon. Prob just you have done loads and now geting too much? Sometimes the last few weeks are tiring as you have to carry a weight around, cant sleep very well and still carry on doing what everyone else does. Stay on the sofa in your PJ's today, its a bank Holiday so REST

bethoo I hope my baby is not breech, the thought of walking down my stairs on my hands and knees would scare me! They are bloody steep!!!!

star6 · 25/08/2008 09:48

LOL at the image of a pregnant woman walking down stairs on hands and knees... ohhhh sorry, that shouldn't be funny at all. I should really feel ashamed of myself for laughing at something so potentially dangerous.... but Come on... how hilarious!!! ROFL

star6 · 25/08/2008 10:22

I'm still laughing about this... just told DH, he even thinks I'm a bit strange for thinking it's so funny.

bethoo · 25/08/2008 18:37

so far my labour bag consists of a box of breast pads and 8 pairs of disposable briefs!

baileysrtg · 25/08/2008 18:46

tried it - walking on hands and knees at my best mates house

she thinks i need to be put in the nuthouse.

won't be doing that again anytime soon. still 7 weeks to go so who knows!!!

bored in croydon

partner banned me from going to carnival cos of the crowds....what does he expect me to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lozza70 · 25/08/2008 19:18

This nesting instinct is not all it's cracked up to be! Had the living room replastered this week and in DH's absence on Saturday morning decided that I would have a tidy up as the dust has now settled. Unfortunately did not account for my rapidly softening ligaments when I decided to move the furniture and I think it was the large solid oak dining table that did for me. So have spent the rest of the weekend lying in bed or on the sofa, very boring DH is not happy with me at all, but the living room is tidy Even more unfortunate I think I am going to be fully recovered in time to go back to work tomorrow

star6 · 25/08/2008 19:44

Be careful Lozza70!! My mw said NOT to move heavy furniture (I was moving bookcases in my classroom... and she said this was a bad idea).

As I am always OCD about cleaning, it has been my DH who has had the nesting instinct... it's really, really, really weird. Last week, he reorganized our entire closet and drawers and told me all about his new "system" for where we were going to put our clothes...etc. I had to put all clothes that I cannot wear at the moment in suitcases and he took them to the loft. Well, this arrangement works well now, because I don't have a lot of clothes I can wear... but when the others come down... it will be a different story!
Anyway, then he has rearranged the living room and ALL of cupboards in the kitchen (where pots/pans go, plates, bowls, mugs... food... everything!) and if I put something in the wrong place (who knew that rice and pasta should not go on the same shelf??) then he's upset about it.

star6 · 25/08/2008 19:46

Mind you... although we have a concrete "system" for where to put all of our clothes and dishes.... he is upset if they are not put where they belong....
However....
he still cannot seem to figure out how his clothes get from the drying rack or even top of chest of drawers and into the closet/drawers or laundry basket and cannot seem to manage the time to wash/put dishes away.

sambrads · 25/08/2008 20:18

hi ladies oh i have had he worst night ever!!

early hours of the morning ds was very sick so i changed him and his bed and brought him in with us then he was sick twice more in our bed luckliy had towels down but still needed changing.

when i was put on his clean pjs i noticed a pin prick rash on his heeks i panicked and phoned out of hours doctor!

he told us to bring him over and he was admitted with suspected meningitus!!!!!

the rash he has is the same as meningitus but luckily its not as he did not develop any other sysmtems!!

it was so scary we got out at tea time today i am wrecked and now am being sick myself thank god i have a doctor appointment tomorrow to get myself checked out

jenwa · 25/08/2008 20:19

star was about to say "oh my god what a turn around" and it must have been the post notes! But hey never mind, at least he is making a start!!!! At least if you put something in the wrong place and he moans you can say "well thats exactly how I feel when you dont put things away!"
ALso found it very funny to imagine walking about on hands and knees, would think DH would lock me away!!!!

jenwa · 25/08/2008 20:22

sambrads Oh no, what an awful day. Glad DS is ok and its not serious, was it just a bug? Prob why you too picked it up then if you being sick.
Hope Drs goes well tomorrow.

CantSleepWontSleep · 25/08/2008 20:22

Who is baileysrtg - a newbie or namechanger?

Made a start on packing my labour bag today. Still more to do, but at least it's a start.
Also had a bit of a sort out in the bedroom with dh. We now have 2 small shelves to put ds's clothes on, and as close as we are ever going to get to room to fit the crib (we have to put the dressing table partially blocking the door opening in order to fit it in). Should be getting a parcel of newborn/0-3 clothes from another MNer in the next day or two, so then I can sort some stuff to pack for ds too.

Hair does look lovely Jenwa.

Went to see Joseph on Sat night (my birthday treat from dh). Has anyone else seen it? Lee Mead def looked like he'd been working out since he was on TV - v fit bod!

CantSleepWontSleep · 25/08/2008 20:25

Oh sympathies sambrads. Did they have any idea what it is then?

rowanmac · 25/08/2008 20:34

Hmm rowan mac on mumsnet again, what is she avoiding this time, have now done tax return (never trust a government form that opens with the words'this year we have made it easier for you to complete' they are lying) but unfortunatly still have to go to annual appraisal in october as v. official, maternity leave cuts no ice so have to do all the paperwork for that. Have already told them I will be bringing a baby, heaven forbid I haven't had it by 30th October!

I'm with 07mumstheword on the cleaning front. We moved into this house 6 weeks before I had DS 3 yrs ago, so things just got flung in corners. I thought i'd do a bit of light cupboard tidying today, made the mistake of wiping a smear off tiled wall in utility room and realised how filthy they were so have now gutted room but I have realised that means everywhere else will be almost as bad, Still if I do it now thats it sorted for another 3 years.
