Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
ronshar · 22/08/2008 21:47

It is grumpy corner here tonight! I made the mistake of saying to DH it was unusual for him to be in on a Friday night. Well within 15 mins he had ironed a shirt and buggered off down the pub. Nice! Be careful what you say me thinks.

On the sex front, I still want it but find it increasingly difficult to do so with out causing myself trouble. Tryed on top and couldnt walk properly for most of last week. Well it was my birthday. I could'nt have a bottle of the nice wine everyone else was drinking so had to do something.

Bethoo, try Ann Summers website. They all come with batteries so you dont even have to leave the house. (ever again)
Dont give in to your DP just for sex. It would be a shame as you have been so strong.

Rosebury have you looked on the Verbaudet website they have a great range of brightly coloured stuff and I think they also still have a sale on. It is French but that is probably where you will have to search for coloured stuff because we are quite boring here with the Winnie the Pooh or Humphreys corner rubbish! They also do brilliant toddler clothes which wash and wash and dont loose colour. I have some bits which have lasted from DD1.
Sambrads, it could be that baby has decide no more messing around and she is head down ready for action. Once the baby drops into the pelvic cavity it makes a massive difference to the shape of your bump. Be happy that she is doing all the right things. She could also be having a few practice runs if you are getting alot of pressure in your lady bits.
Dont go too far from home without your notes. 37 weeks is considered term now

bethoo · 22/08/2008 22:27

ronshar yes i will be looking in the anne summers shop as there is one in town. the only thing with vibrators is that you still have to do all the work! and ot be honest xdp is a fantstic lover if i say so myself and i have had a few!

sambrads yes baby sounds as though baby has dropped into the pelvis like ronshar says

ronshar · 22/08/2008 22:56

Maybe you should ask the chap at work who was so interested in your breasts. No strings sex! Could be what you need..
Lets face it post baby is not the time to be looking for a new sex partner. All those baggy bits to contend with.
I remember after DD1 all those years ago it took DH ages to summon the courage to get down there again. He was particularly traumatised by the whole birth bit. It didnt take nearly as long after DD2.
I wonder if it was because he was out in the kitchen eating bacon sandwiches and reading the paper. Only pausing to look up and stare at me like I was from another planet as I staggered by breathing heavy, I wonder.

bethoo · 22/08/2008 23:20

ronshar he is older than my dad! bit of a sleazy perv too! yuck
that is why i would never let dp see the birth or any man for that matter! the trauma of seeing you in pain and potentially emptying your bowels etc! tbh i do not think i will ever let a man go down there for cunnilingus purposes as i swear i am swollen there already! very engorged!

jenwa · 23/08/2008 09:22

wombfor1more
Oh dear, I hope things get sorted. IS he still there? Did you tell him you did not really want him to leave, you just actually need some help/support?

As for the sex thing, My DH saw what a traumatic time I had had but still was asking when I would be up for it (had 3rd degree tear)!!! I did say that when his foreskin was stiched to his bum hole then would he fancy it . He did sort of get the point!
Not really interested in the sex part at the mo. We have tried but its all weird and uncomfy, just more trying to please each other in other ways but its hard when you are tired and swollen down there and everything aches and baby is thrusting about!!!!!

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 23/08/2008 12:56

god you're all scaring me - maybe a homebirth isn't such a good idea! DH is taking pregnancy massage classes though so at least he should be right away from the business end...well, made the most of it this morning...man i love a bank holiday weekend (though my thigh muscles are in agony now!)

twinkly got your stuff today. i got there to the post office with small buggy and dog, so i walked back with a postal bag full of boxes. blimey, i thought you were sending me a carrier bags worth! thanks, i dont think i need to get anything though i bought a soft woolly type pram suit today. i have literally a wardrobe worth of baby girl clothes considering i had none yesterday! once again many thanks, i have had a good browse and am really pleased. they are all very nice.

jenwa · 23/08/2008 17:18

I have just posted pic of bump and also had all my hair chopped of today!!!

Feel massive with bump and light with loss of hair!!!

twinklytoes · 23/08/2008 17:34

glad they arrived bethoo. sorry should have warned you about the amount! if theres too much then it on freecycle.

star6 · 23/08/2008 18:55

lovely haircut, jenwa!! And beautiful bump

We went to the "country affair" at hampton court today... DH LOVES that sort of thing but I just think it will be so much better when we have a child to bring along! A lot of standing and walking, not enough sitting... feeling really sore in my right side ribs now...
and HORRIBLE cramps, like worse than when you have your period. Does this happen to anyone else when they move around a bit more than usual during the day?

I'm used to a brisk walk for an hour every morning... but maybe this was just too much.

star6 · 24/08/2008 11:16

I dreamt last night that I gave birth to a DOG. I was SO annoyed that I spent 10 months carrying a dog in my body. DH was SO excited. Everyone in the hospital was joining him in games of catch and chase in the hospital corridor. Midwife seemed very pleased with how healthy the puppy seemed to be. DH did skin-to-skin as I refused....
still can't shake that dream!!

07mumstheword · 24/08/2008 11:21

Jenwa Very nice hair cut it really suits you

Star I'm getting terrible cramps/pain/ache in my groin area not sure if that's the same but MW told me that it is just everything stretching and getting ready for labour.

It didn't help when I was sat on the floor this morning washing my defrosted freezer only to discover I couldn't get up again cos it hurt so much then I felt sorry for myself and cried DH came to find a blubbing mess yet again 8 wks to go so it's gonna get more difficult

07mumstheword · 24/08/2008 11:23

Star I've heard of women having funny/strange pregnancy dreams I've never had any but I'm enjoying yours.

It will all be fine not long now until you get to hold your real life human baby.

star6 · 24/08/2008 11:26

I've also had a snake and a rat so far. Dog was a bit of a relief tbh but still didn't want it. When I told DH he laughed but I really think he would be overjoyed if I had a puppy!!

07mumstheword · 24/08/2008 11:28

How strange you might have a whole zoo full of animals by the time this baby is born Please keep telling your dreams it does make me smile.

star6 · 24/08/2008 11:30

why were you washing your freezer by the way?? You should be sitting with your feet up!

07mumstheword · 24/08/2008 11:43

I've got this thing about getting jobs like that done before baby arrives so I'm organised.

I'm doing my own head in but I've bought birthday & Christmas presents, washed all baby stuff, sorted cupboards and the list goes on.

I just remember that I didn't feel human for about 3 months after DD's birth due to lack of sleep (and I was anemic) so I figure if I get as much done now it will make life easier later and I can enjoy new baby and lead up to Christmas with DD without stressing about those sorts of jobs.

I'm really odd I know

07mumstheword · 24/08/2008 11:46

Oh but I did have a day off yesterday I had lunch with my Mum and an afternoon showing of Mamma Mia! Had a fab time relaxing, fun and grown up

I came home to DH & DD baking gingerbread men which was lovely but it took me half an hour to clear up after them.

jenwa · 24/08/2008 16:35

mumstheword please come to my house as we have loads to sort and I am such a sorter (my DH says I am OCD) but things are not getting done quick enough for me.....HELP!!!!!

star your dreams are funny! Well not for you but for us . I dreamt I had a boy and he was a mini version of my dad and that scared the poo out of me. With DD I dreamt I had her and then she was grown up in afew days and I was upset as my parents newver got to see her as a baby. The dreams freaked me big time. I actually think my mum dreamt I had a dog too! Dreams are weird, glad they dont all come true!!!!!!

I have just hi lighted my hair as it looked dull, feeling more funky now. Did a car boot this morn and it scared me! People were trying to get in my car and push past me even when they could clearly see my bump, they were rooting through bags I had not opened and trying to open my mums stuff whilst she was unpacking it! Thankfully the inlaws were around and were telling everyone to move back, not that they really did but at least we had some support. They were all traders looking for a deal, not at all interested in baby stuff just my Grans belongings! It was not a very nice experience!!!! Some people are really rude and aggressive!

sambrads · 24/08/2008 18:56

hi ya jenwa me too did a boot sale and it is scary when they nearly climb in your car i ended up shouting at them IF YOU TOUCH ANYTHING I AM PACKING UP AND YOU WILL GET NOTHING !!!! they did stand back mustr have been scared of the pregnant lady hahaha

feeling so tired today just want to sit an do nothing til tomorrow

jenwa · 24/08/2008 20:29

Hey samrads, its horrible isn't it! People are really awful and its so scary as your trying to get suff out and protect whats in the car and your belongings and watch what people are picking up! I def know IF I ever did it again that I would pack everything in a box ready to put straight on the table and put the tables around me and the car so no one can get in!

Just picked up DD from inlaws and ended up having our tea there DD did not want to go to bed though but finally managed it and now I think I will be off to bed soon myself as shattered from not such a good sleep then an early morning and a booty sale.

DH doing loft for next 2 weeks so its going to be chaos here and I will be stressed but at least it is prgressing. He did however manage to fall through the ceiling the other day only I never saw it happen (he he would have been a sight) but luckily saved himself from completely dropping by hanging on, but now we have a whole in the landing ceiling to also plaster up More work!!!!

bethoo · 24/08/2008 21:34

my lo has not stopped kicking me all day1 anyone elses been busy laterly? thought they were not supposed to have much room to move now!

Star your dreams are great - i am glad I am not the only one having wierd vivid dreams - this weekend I have dreamt entire Zombie films - I even knew who was starring in them and the directors...

The first was horrible as the Zombies were breeding - Kevin Bacon was the star - a college prof turned vigilante driving around with his students trying to preserve the human race... Directed by George A Romero (Night of the Living Dead) - bizarre that I knew it was a film but at the same time I woke up upset thinking I can't bring a baby into this terrible world...

The second was set in a High School and a lady teacher was helpless as she watched the pupils in assembly get infected by the Zombie virus and start killing each other. It was directed by Stanley Kubrick this time - still very real and I woke up terrified again. But then dd trotted into the room and into bed for a cuddle and that helped alot

Sorry nothing more boring than other peoples dreams - but these pg hormones are really something

Had my 32 week check up and midwife said baby is in breech position - bottom below and head up - but she said not to worry unless she is still head up at 35 weeks (have booked next appt). I will have to find out how to turn her - I do not want a breech birth - I was breech and my Mum is still traumatised by that experience!
