ask your mw for the MATB1, sometimes they need remindng!

myjobismum surely your fundal height is low as your babyhas dropped into the pelvis? i cant believe your lo is already engaged!

star6 · 20/08/2008 18:55

the mw only comes to the surgery on tuesdays and I need it this week... can any mw give this to me? If it's just a quick form that they can fill out for me, I was thinking I could just pick it up tomorrow at the hospital when I'm there for the scan... I won't be seeing the mw then.

rowanmac · 20/08/2008 18:57

hi
How do you manage to produce 2 pages of chat in less than 24hours?
star you get a Mat B1 from your usual midwife so prob try local surgery.

i'm impressed with what you all manage to do, mowing lawns and catching flying shopping trollies its definitely more sedentary here although I am still managing to swim twice a week. I'm getting lots of looks now though, I'm afraid I'm too tight to shell out for a maternity swimsuit so use an old tankini with the bump out the middle , not a good look but when I take my glasses off I can't see so continue in blissful ignorance.

Ds (age nearly3) stunned us into silence last night. We have an extra toilet which uses a saniflo (basically a very expensive mincing machine attached to toilet) so you have to be very careful what goes down it. Cost us £400 to replace last month after someone flushed a baby wipe down! So DS picked up a piece of plastic block and flushed it down! Its a sealed unit so we now have every thing crossed we can get a plumber to fish it out. £400!!

Done too much today so am sore but my mood is so much lighter as I couldn't have done anything without the brace. so really I'm the best I've been for months.

bethoo · 20/08/2008 18:57

call up your med centre explaining and they should do one for yoy that you could pick up. i thought you had to hand it in 11 weeks before due date at the latest.

rowanmac · 20/08/2008 18:59

bethoo LOL at you flashing your knickers, I seem to spend half my life hoiking my jeans back up.

twinklytoes · 20/08/2008 19:44

star - any midwife or doctor (GP / consultant) can complete the matb1. if you are going to see a doctor tomorrow, remember to ask. tbh its a bit slack of them. If not, ask at surgery. If it has to wait till tues I wouldn't worry too much. The employer needs it in order to claim back SMP from gov and as payroll is not likely going to run between now and tues, you'll be ok. the only other scenario that may cause issue is if you deliver this weekend but don't think thats very likely.

bethoo - you've had me in tears too.

had scan today and saw consultant. scan still shows low lying placenta but consultant thinks theres still scope for normal delivery. we'll make decision in 4 weeks. oh, got estimate on weight at present, I know they are sometimes out but currently the boy is measuring in at 5lb 4oz - so could be a 9lb er if we get to 40wks!

I've had my first week of feeling really, really pregnant. I know at 33 weeks I should have realised I was preg before now but I seem to have just got huge in the last 5 days or so and my feet have been swollen for 7 days!! I'm just an absolute joy to be around

Hope everyone is feeling much better than me

myjobismum that is worrying about the maternity grant! how do you know it is sat til september? are you defo getting it? at the jobcentre the guy there said i probably wasnot entitled. i am hoping i get it as need it for a double buggy, without it is cant afford one.

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 21/08/2008 10:58

morning everyone...am really starting to feel the 3rd trimester now, had an evening full of weeping and being sent to bed at 9 cos I was so knackred - nowt else to complain about, just tired and emotional at nothing!

went swimming last night too so the maternity tankini I got in the sales (yay to a fiver!) has finally been broken into - my god isn't it bliss!! although I did feel about 5 stone lighter when i hauled myself out of the pool

myjob that sucks a bit about your mat pay...ugh HR depts are just rubbish

sambrands how bloody exciting that you've got 5 weeks left!!!

Emmsy1 · 21/08/2008 11:13

myjob you need to put a complaint in if you are not going to get paid on time, one of the jobcentre's core values is to 'ensure that customers get the correct amount of benefit paid at the right time, it wouldn't hurt if you mention that. You can go to your MP if you don't get the service that they should deliver, a nice letter from him/her will soon push them into sorting it out!
bethoo Think you are on about the SSMG (maternity grant) that is a one off payment paid by the social fund section. The MA that myjob refers to is maternity allowance, that is a benefir paid by the short term benefits section every 2/4weeks etc... SMP (statutory Maternity Pay) that is usually paid by an employer, they do have an obligation to pay the 'MA' on time
The SSMG (grant) that you have claimed should be processed straight away, as it is payable straight away if you qualify!

bethoo · 21/08/2008 11:16

thanks emmsy i think i realised i had made a boo boo when i re read the thread! in that case myjob should really push that it gets sorted before she leaves. that is naughty of HR!
Getting uncomfortable sat forward and my legs are now hurting after cross trainer on monday! and i am supposed to be on it tonight!

Emmsy1 · 21/08/2008 11:17

didn't word that quite right!

MA is paid by JCP if you don't qualify for SMP(off an employer) or SMP is about to run out for some reason!
Hope thats a little clearer.

Ekka · 21/08/2008 12:13

Hi all. Sorry to hear about piles/SPD etc. Star - hope you get the MATB1 form sorted - they were really good with getting mine done first time round.

Annoyingly for all you who are suffering, I'm feeling ok at the moment, but absolutely shattered as dd decided to wake up at about 1.30 this morning and not go to sleep till 4, and then I couldn't get back to sleep .

Its our 2nd wedding anniversary today and as we couldn't really celebrate much last year (when dd was only about 1mth old) we're supposed to be going out to dinner tonight as my sister is around to babysit. Problem is we're both so shattered that I have a feeling we'd both rather just get an early night - oh the joys of parenthood .

Got our faulty double glazing fixed this morning and dd has just slept through 1hr of the noise of breaking glass/power tools and workmen. Why she can't sleep so solidly at night is beyond me!

bethoo · 21/08/2008 12:17

happy anniversary! have an early night with a bottle of wine/Schloer!

myjob 2 months! Regardless of what the woman/man is telling you, one of their core values is to pay the correct amount of money, on time! She/He would not wait for 2 months for their wages to be paid. You have the right to take it further (thats if you definately know that your payments will be late!)anyway its up to you how you handle it, I know what I would doThink it's best if you note down dates & times that you have spoke to JCP and where possible record the names of whom you have spoken to,good luck!

sambrads · 21/08/2008 16:36

hi all

does anyone know anyone selling a bebe loola footmuff or a windoo carrycot for the loola??

hope everyone is doing ok
