ha ha thanks Jenwa that made me laugh and feel a lot better about the spontaneous burping!

cantsleepwontsleep - yes this is my first baby and we didn't find out what flavour it is, agreed with dh that we wouldn't but then had to admit we were both secretly trying to spot if it had any bits and bobs at the 20 week scan!

twinklytoes - you are amazing being so well organised! I have a big to do list with all those things on, have made some progress with the nursery but haven't yet been brave enough to go out for the disposable knicks and the giant maternity pants - anyone else in denial??

are most of you still managing to fit in the bed with your dh?

bethoo · 15/08/2008 11:24

i am ok as slee palone in king size bed! thug hhave been co-sleeping with ds! i know slap my hand! so basically i slee phangin of the bed, never thought a person under one foot could take up a whole bed!
i have not organised anything, baby will be in moses basket on my bed like ds was then prob co sleep if bf til 9 months when i can no longer bare it. then dd will move int ocot nad ds will get a junior bed! they will be sharingin the box room! then see what happens from there! may move out or move in with some hunky guy who loves other peoples kids!

bethoo · 15/08/2008 11:25

i cant burp! if i do i feel sick, on the occasions i have i usually have followed through with vomiting so it is farting all the way with me! no wonder i live alone!

BabyNubie · 15/08/2008 11:31

king size bed sounds like bliss! i got so sick of waking up a million times a night to move various cushions (and inevitable loo trip once awake!) that last night got my dh to sleep on futon matress on our bedroom floor as wanted him to be in the same room! selfish???

bethoo · 15/08/2008 11:34

even though it is king size i always slee phanging of the end as if i wa in a single! bizarre!

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 15/08/2008 11:49

we're still ok - DH has adjusted well to the fact that I need room to toss and turn as well as extra room for my 5foot maternity pillow...we have a king size too though which helps

BabyNubie · 15/08/2008 11:56

yes you see my dh is still taking up half of the bed despite me explaining that now there are three of us in the bed he can only have a 1/3!!!

it doesn't help that i can't roll on my belly at all so to turn over have to first get on all fours and then try and drag pillows into position under my belly! 5 foot maternity pillow sounds heavenly too! you ladies have this sussed!

star6 · 15/08/2008 12:14

i just want to be left alone in my bed. I love to cuddle on the sofa, but when sleeping it is much too uncomfortable to entertain the idea of dh too close, especially if I need to change position!

bethoo · 15/08/2008 12:31

when i sleep on my side i actually lie on my belly iyswim? oh to have a maternity pillow but then i would be constatnly adjusting it since i am fidgety enough!

DH still taking up too much room like yours babynubie. Got up 6 times last night for a pee. Sometimes I think I just wake up and automatically think 'i must need a wee'then I go and sit on the loo and nothing happens. Must be the way dooley is laid on my bladder.
Jenwa - that story didnt help my peeing situation, how funny!!

twinklytoes · 15/08/2008 13:28

nubie - I might seem organised but you haven't seen the rest of the house !! Though, I'vebeen signed off sick since 26wks and the dds are still in childcare as couldn't get a refund so most days I get bored and looking for things to do.

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 15/08/2008 14:53

maternity pillow is my new best friend - had it since about 16 weeks but it's only really come into its own in the last month...find that I only wake once or twice in the night to reshuffle myself now

BabyNubie · 15/08/2008 16:21

You are so right dooleymum, once i wake up i just have to go to the loo regardless! by kicking dh out last night i managed to reduce loo trips from 5/6 to just 2!! hoorah for small victories

Hi everyone. Been away most of the week working and loads of posts to catch up on. I'm sleeping alright but waking up early and then not able to get back to sleep which is a bit of a pain. I have had massive ankles for 3 days now so lying with my feet up on the back of the sofa. Hoping they will go down in time for Sunday as I'm off to a wedding and they will look like trotters under my dress

Apart from that I'm on count down to my maternity leave, only 5 more weeks at work

Block your ears ladies - this may be loud...
AAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHH.
That's better, thank you .

Returned home today, to find that I have no conservatory and only 3/4 of a living room as expected, but I also couldn't get on the drive for wood/skips/tiles, there was dust and dirt everywhere (also somewhat expected), but there were no builders working on the house, dust sheets all over the floor, the loft ladders were down (making it hard to get to my bedroom), there were 3 saws lying around, electrical cables dangling over the stairs etc etc. And then to cap it all off the range no longer works, and this does all of our hot water, heating and cooking!
After a few phone calls and a visit from the main builder (who only got off a plane from his holiday this afternoon) we have got the immersion working for water, I've had a toaster and microwave dinner, and the builders/plumbers will try to fix things properly on Monday. We thought we'd lost £700 of oil from the tank, but it seems that they did realise at some point that they'd nicked the oil pipe whilst digging foundations, so turned off the supply from the tank. Means we've lost some, but apparently not the whole lot. May mean an air blockage that will require a specialist to fix it next week, but we won't know until they've fixed the pipe.
Had to deal with all this whilst also entertaining dd and trying to unpack (car is still half full!), so asked a friend round to keep me sane, with a dd to occupy dd. Friend's dd managed to wee over living room within minutes of arriving, and then dd had a wee and a poo on her bedroom floor! First poo accident since potty training began, so a bit frustrating when we thought we had it all sussed.

Sorry for self-indulgent and very boring rant!

Oh the builder boss was very good and accepted that he'd have to cover the £700 when we thought the whole tank had gone, and still accepts that if we need a range specialist in to get it working again then it will be at his expense. He's a very nice and reasonable man really.

csws what a total nightmare!! You poor thing! I hope you get a good night's sleep tonight at least after all of that.

jenwa · 16/08/2008 08:21

CSWS thats awful, what a load of stress for you, fingers crossed things get sorted soon. Not what you need at the moment!

Glad my belching story made you happy, it still makes me smile now. I have not had that yet this pregnancy. Laughing at bethoo about the farting though, is that pregnancy related???!!!! We appear to be a windy family here (sorry TMI), dd always trumping and thinks its funny, at least she owns up at the moment, can see her blaming us when we in public as she gets older and more embarrased about it {blush}.

star6 · 16/08/2008 09:35

First weekend - feels GREAT and i've only had a 3 day week... and just meetings and paperwork, no students yet!
DH's bday is next week (over bank holiday weekend). He's suggested paintball and thorpe park I think sarcastically... I hope... not sure what to do. I was going to have people over, but doubt diy will be finished by then.

star6 · 16/08/2008 10:45

please tell me if i'm being unreasonable here... but I got so annoyed this week when I'd be talking with someone I haven't seen all summer back at school, who has no children and was not 31 weeks pregnant with a big belly sticking out to carry around all day and the other person would have the audacity to say "you just can't believe how exhausted i am!"
I would say nothing... but... in my mind I'm thinking ummmmm, put yourself in my shoes!
I know, I know, that sounds selfish and unreasonable... but I WAS thinking it!!

bethoo · 16/08/2008 14:39

yesterday i went to a bbq and met a girl who is due in november telling me how she was 7 months preggers! but i am surely? anyway she was chatting as if she was the only woman to have ever been pregnant . i guess certain people just bug you! then she was gong on about how hard her dog was! a staffie as it had attacked someones dog and it was the owners fault because he should have walked the dog somewhere else! hers was out the garden and the other dog was on a lead! people like that piss me off, people with that attitude should not have dogs like that! then she said how their jaw locks etc, er i think you wll find that is the bulldog! then her husband was bragging how they fight to the death! i was getting more pissed off and had to correct them by saying only trained fighting dogs would and it is the pit bull! sorry for ranting, sound a bitch but was really annoyed last night as thought i would look on baby names thread as they were discussing my ds name and 90% were saying how horrid the name is! so was a bit upset! .
did not get much sleep last night as poor ds and me have hacking cough so he was restless all night!
i sond petty today! hey hum
