bethoo · 12/08/2008 12:39

yes feeling better today as not heard from him today1 he did try calling all night but i jsut ignored the phone as the one time i did pick up he was ranting down the phone!

am tired all the time!!

KSal · 12/08/2008 13:46

Hi all, had another MW appt yesterday and for the first time the baby has been head down... almost as soon as i left its head was back up under my ribs, so i have decided its just a crowd pleaser. Just goes to show how much they still move around at this stage (31.5 wks).

on the down side, my blood pressure was pretty high (156/96) so i am having a home visit on thursday to take it again. Funny thing was they told me to make another appointment for monday but the soonest they could actually fit me in was 3 weeks away. I guess i will wait to see what happens on Thursday.

I've always been a bit borderline for blood pressure, so i'm not too worried, but don't want induction to be raised as a option - does anyone else have experience of this? I don't have any other issues such as swelling/protein in urine...

twinklytoes · 12/08/2008 14:51

bethoo - I've got mail! haven't opened it as its sat between loads of freecycle messages asking for the stuff I've offered. I'm thinking I might get confused and delete it without realising.

its busy here today. the nursery has new carpet and the wardrobe and cot have been put up. I've been washing the fabric on the carseat, pushchair and bouncy chairs. The DDs are now going to help sort the clothes into age piles and put into drawers - thought it would be a good lesson in numbers for them

star6 · 12/08/2008 16:00

Good for you, bethoo!!!

07mumstheword · 12/08/2008 17:57

GWTMH and others who were interested.

I got Raspberry leaf tablets from health shop the very helpful man (yes man) said to start taking them at 32 wks. 1 a day for 2 wks, 2 a day for 2 wks then 3 a day for the rest of the time then for a long as breastfeeding (can apparently help with this too).

The perenium oil (this was odd talking to a man about this!!) start massaging in about 3 wks before due date twice a day.

Arnica 30c tablets - 2 a day 10 days before due date and 7-10 after the birth.

Lets hope it all works for me

rosebury · 12/08/2008 18:50

Hello everyone all very busy here as well snap twinklytoes the cot has just been put up and the painting finished it is all feeling quite exciting and scary. Went to ikea yesterday and bought yet more storage sheves and bookcases which dh is now putting together what a lot of work to be done just to welcome one little baby into the family. Dh says it was much easier and more fun making the baby in the first place.

Mw appt tomorrow i hope that there will be no sugar in my water need to stay off the sweets tonight, and starting to hope that the baby will get itself the into the head down position as room is getting tighter my bump is massive and I keep getting comments about giving birth any day now.

see you all later.

myjob yes, I get full quickly. I try not to eat too late or I suffer in the evening. I remember during the last couple of months of my last PG DH and I would go out every saturday night for a meal to make the most of being able to do so but I'd be so ill that night we decided it was a waste of money and stopped doing it.

star6 · 12/08/2008 19:57

I have the same... I think it's because the baby is squishing the stomach
I try to eat a little but eat often.

myjob I think about food all the time I wish I could fotget to eat

tedmundo · 12/08/2008 20:19

Hi everyone. KSal - try not to worry too much about the bp reading for now. You could just have been having a bad day! See what the reading is on Thursday. I had pre-eclampsia with ds and your reading is similar to what mine were at about 32 weeks. The urine protein level is what landed me in hospital so if you had no protein in the urine then you should stay positive and try not to think about the evil "i" word for now"!

Bethoo - that is one tricky setup with the dp. It sounds like you are out the other side of it by now (I have been catching up from the past few days) so huge respect for being so strong and capable. You will be a good role model for the little miss coming your way (although she may not thank you for the pink frillies in later years!).

I don't stop eating at the moment. I think I am sitting on a lardass timebomb though as I don't seem to be putting too much weight on yet - surely it will catch me up??

sambrads · 12/08/2008 21:06

bethoo i was induced with ds i found the labour very painful but the birth he just slid out and i had no stitches or anything and he was 8lb 4oz !!

my womb did go back very quick and i only had a bleed for 2 weeks as i remember me and dh were back to bed rocking at 3 weeks .

so maybe it does work but i dont want to find ut this time . think i will bounce on the bouncy castle at the end of my ds party and see if that works

i too cant eat very uch its bad when you have to leave some of your onion rings of your burger king

does anyone watch the baby whisper on discovery home and health?????

i love it

07mumstheword · 13/08/2008 09:04

Yes Sambrads I watched the baby whisperer Tracey Hogg is so good! I've got her book and found it really useful when DD was a baby, I need to get it out to refresh my memory

sambrads · 13/08/2008 09:04

a tip for drinking rapberry tea make up a jug of it cool it in the fridge and put it in a drinks bottle and take it out with you i found it waalot easier to drink while on the go and cold as to actually sitting with a cup

going away for a few days to the sea side the weather is crap but looking forward to spending time with dh and ds as will be the last holiday just the 3 of us .

i am starting to feel really depressed i am waking every hour as back and pelvis is so sore i feel like i have not slept in years and never get a break during the day as ds is mad !!
cried all morning feeling sorry for myself fel so drained.

my ds is starting to get such a temper and he is definately hard work i dread the terrible twos already although i am hoping he is there already

hope everyone else is ok

star6 · 13/08/2008 10:44

sambrads - do you just make it like you would normally make tea and then pop it in the fridge or is there a different "recipe" for making it cool (i.e. using ice?). I wasn't sure if heating the tea leaves made them work or something, maybe?

Hats off to all of you with other children... I can barely handle myself and DH at the moment with the pregnancy!!
My dh is very supportive... just can't seem to get his laundry from next to the bed ALL THE WAY to the laundry basket - in the closet just 2 metres away and hasn't figured out that if he eats something after I've gone to bed and doesn't wash his dishes, they will still be there in the morning!!
Forget the baby's first year books... I need "how to train your husband to be tidy" books!!

bethoo · 13/08/2008 11:01

star6 you are fighting a losing battle there though i like to think there are a few domesticated men out htere! do you think it has something to do with the facr their mothers cleaned up after them so subconsciously we are replacement mothers to some degree and deep down they are all little boys needing looking after? that is the thought for the day!

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 13/08/2008 11:03

star6 i would like one of those too please....

my baby isn't moving as much, not worried yet but it's not as fun when it's being lazy!

bethoo · 13/08/2008 11:05

gwtms suggest drinking cold fresh prange juice as that certainlywakes my little madam up. good if you are worried.

bethoo · 13/08/2008 11:05

and remember that as lo is getting bigger now there is less room to move.

Ekka · 13/08/2008 11:20

Hi all, I'm taking the time while dd naps to catch up on emails and mn! Should really be sleeping myself as she has started to wake up at about 12.30am and stay awake for 2-3 hrs in the night. Dh is being great at getting up and helping out, but we're both absolutely shattered at the moment....

Can you get the raspberry leaf tea capsules at Holland and Barrett? Must do something to prepare for the lo! I did get down dd's clothes from the roof yesterday and sorted out the neutral ones (the rest are sitting in a suitcase in lo's room, to be unpacked if its a girl). Can't believe she was so tiny, only 14 months ago! Now all I have to do is wash the darn things.....

myjob I'm struggling with food as well, though I always seem to feel hungry, just can't eat very much in one go.

bethoo · 13/08/2008 11:31

yes you can get them from H&B

star6 · 13/08/2008 12:38

yes, bethoo... probably that their mums cleaned up after them, then either they just lived in s pigsty or girlfriends did it and now here I am... I must say, he was much more conscientious about tidiness before we got married

Two of my friends' dp/dh's are actually tidier than they are and do ALL of the household cleaning... I just can't believe they are real. It's a good thing I love my dh so much or I'd trade him in for one of those!

Not sure why I'm so hung up on everything being clean/put away right now - it's all I can think about!

gwmh - I think I read that the baby slows down or doesn't move as much as you get closer to 40 weeks because, as mentioned, there's not as much room to wiggle around in.
