Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
star6 · 11/08/2008 17:58

hey no worries mumstheword I can be sent into a panic very easily about childbirth
I'm clutching with all of my might to the idea of an epidural and that gets me through the day/night when the idea of childbirth passes through my mind...

Bethoo - what are you planning to do with dp? Sounds like his mum needs to get on board with teaching him responsibility as well. I hope I'm not like that with my own son (like your dp's mum is with him at age 36!). She's raised a baby.

Having wicked cramps again today. I thought this was supposed to be 9 months off of periods... that should include cramps until the actual birth!!

bethoo · 11/08/2008 18:41

have no idea what i am going to do with dp tbh. ideally i want to move on but sadly am stuck with him, he can be quite nasty so do not want to get on the wrong side really. catch 22.

little man woke up in a whingey mood this afternoon and has not stopped! driving me crazy. he is currently eating a yoghurt at the mo bless him.

07mumstheword · 11/08/2008 20:12

Bethoo Sorry to hear DP can be nasty but please don't feel you are stuck with him there is always a way if you really want it, of course you have to be ready. Take care.

My baby is using my tummy as a trampoline at the moment very funny sensations

Jambers I've just had Glucose Tolerance Tests as my DD was biggish (9lb 2oz) and this one is measuring big too, been told mine is "impaired" I'm waiting to see the consultant next Tuesday. In the meantime CSWS has pointed me in the direction of a thread relating to diabities, I'm no good at links but if you're interested go to my profile page and click on the threads I'm on. It's very informative about diet.

Star It's easy to panic I've bought my raspbery leaf tea tablets, perenium oil and Arnica tablets all in preperation. I'm going to try EVERYTHING including epidural if I'm allowed this time

star6 · 11/08/2008 20:22

Oh, I keep meaning to get those tablets, mumstheword!! I must remember to pick them up tomorrow! I think I'll start them at 32 weeks (that's Sunday).
mtw - I hope you're enjoying the trampoline session

CantSleepWontSleep · 11/08/2008 20:43

Sorry to disillusion you again Jambers, but they won't confirm whether or not it's diabetes just from a random blood test, although they will follow up with a proper test if the results show high blood sugar.

Feeling very tired and achey today. Took dd to meet EachPeachPearMum and her dd for lunch and a trip to the Sea Life Centre, but unfortunately there was a dinosaur in her room at 5:30 this morning so we were all up early and she was overtired as a result, and utterly uncontrollable. Seemed to spend most of the afternoon either running after her, or lifting her up and carrying her whilst she was screaming her head off and writhing trying to get free.

Bethoo - I think you need to decide what it is that you really want, work towards it and stick with it. I'm not one to suffer fools gladly, and although dh can be a lazy shit sometimes, there's no way I would put up with the sort of stuff that your dp does.

Knickers - I would look at getting yourself a better sling this time for the early months, and then you can decide as and when whether you need a double buggy or not.

I'm such an immature child at the moment... I just laughed and laughed that knickersonmahead's name is shortened to "knickers"

moodywren · 11/08/2008 20:50

Feeling much better today, think the stars in front of my eyes may have been where I was so stressed.

Bought some rasberry leaf tea but can't remember when its okay to start taking it, and it doesn't say on the packet. Does anyone know?

star6 · 11/08/2008 20:57

moodywren - there was a thread on the pregnancy area - I think consensus was after 28/30 weeks I'm going to do it at 32 weeks.

moodywren · 11/08/2008 21:02

Thanks star, will start soon then. Dd was 13 days late, ds1 was 3 days late, I took rasberry leaf tea with ds2 and he was 2 wks 5 days early so I think it works. And I really don't want this one to be late, its horrible when people keep saying 'oh you haven't had it yet then' when you can't wait for it to be over.

star6 · 11/08/2008 21:23

The clueless GP told me today that she didn't think I'd last 40 weeks. How does she know? But if going overdue is as awful as everyone makes it seem, then hooray!

bethoo · 11/08/2008 22:17

i got some raspberry leaf capsules and can start taking them at 30 weeks.
just done an hour on my cross trainers to try and tone my flabby thighs so off to bed as up at 6 curtesy of ds

star6 · 12/08/2008 09:16

Do you buy raspberry leaf tea tablets at the chemist? Or does it have to be a health food shop or herbologist?

bethoo · 12/08/2008 09:35

i got mine from a health shop. though you can buy them from the supplements section at chemists.

i feel movement right by my side, and can see little bits poking out. if it was any further to the side it would be on my back! could she be lying transverse?

sambrads · 12/08/2008 10:08

i drank 3lts of raspberry tea a day from 37 weeks and ds was induced at 10days over my date !!

ont think i will bother this time as i dont want the baby coming early as i want to get ds birthday over me first

my bump seems to have dropped i must have ran to the toilet about 30 times yesterdy its really strange as i have a big space between my boobs and belly now and i used to have my boos sitting on my bump???

anyone else like this ??

mum2jakeyroo · 12/08/2008 10:16

Sambrads I nooticed yesterday that my bump had dropped. But tbh baby has been pressing against bladder for about 3 weeks. horrible feeling. What a dozy idiot I am - slipped down the stairs this morning with 22 month old but am now getting a lot of achey type pains

bethoo · 12/08/2008 10:34

mum2 maybe you should see a mw or gp if you slipped? jsut to be on the safe side?

i have a gap between my bump and my fanjo! but i tend to carry high. though i am sure she is lying sideways!

sambrads did you find your uterus recovered better than before and was labour easier/less painful when you drank all that raspberry leaf tea? you must h ave been on the loo constantly!

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 12/08/2008 11:01

really need to get my arse into gear with RLT and arnica - when should you start taking arnica though? I know you ought to have been taking it a few days before labour but obviously you don't know when that'll be - what's everyone else doing?

mum2jakeyroo · 12/08/2008 11:06

Will give labour ward a ring I think just to make sure

twinklytoes · 12/08/2008 11:30

bethoo - the clothes are sitting here ready to sort. anything in particular you are after or shall I put together a surprise box?

bethoo · 12/08/2008 11:33

oooh twinkly how exciting, tbh i have got nothing so a surprise would be good if that is ok? am hoping that finally holding pink frilly things will start the enthusiam off!

twinklytoes · 12/08/2008 11:49

oh, I don't know if theres anything frilly but its certianly pink! do you want to email an addy and I'll get it sorted use: rebs 23 29atyahoocouk

bethoo · 12/08/2008 12:16

twinkly just sent you an email so let me know if you got it ok.

bethoo · 12/08/2008 12:17
