ts wtf?? if you put your finger in you lady bits can you feel the head or something??

libbyssister · 05/08/2008 17:21

Hello, just checking in...

Congratulations to VG and Buckets and Skytv, LOVELY to hear that your boys are all out in the world.

The ECV I had today was fine, so quick I hardly noticed and only the tiniest bit uncomfortable. The doc left me on a monitor for half an hour afterwards to check that the baby's heart rate didn't dip. He came back, looked at the print out and said 'Yes, the baby's just taking the piss, you're fine to go home' which made us laugh.

So I'm getting used to the pleasure of having a head wedged in my pelvis instead of feet pounding my cervix

Quite happy for the baby to stay where it is now for a few more weeks. Plenty to do...

bealcain · 05/08/2008 17:22

LS so glad it went for you and wasn't too uncomfortable. is it quite a hig success rate of staying there?

Just to add to the displacement of myths - LO was 2/5 palpable 2 weeks ago... is still 2/5 palpable. So just because the head engages doesn't mean that after having more than 1 child things will happen quickly after that. Ho hum... apparently a 'lovely' position this LO is in - not for me . DH wants me to wait until Tuesday next week so that the nursery can be completely finished, carpets and all . We shall see...

Hi dizzy & CC - good to hear from you, glad things are blissful... dizzy - no idea on names?

TS - have you tried bealcain's suggestion? Very interested to hear if you have!!
Also, earlier on in one of the many conversations, it was mentioned that you aren't really told to sterilise stuff much in the States - what are the guidelines there then?

FoghornLeghorn · 05/08/2008 17:29

Glad it went well Libbysister Fingers crossed LO stays the right way now !

I'm losing the will to live now - we are entering bedtime meltdown mode and I'm finding it hard not to scream ! Roll on 7.30 when the girls are in bed and I can sit in peace

sarahnh · 05/08/2008 17:39

Not about to put my fingers up there and see but according to the medical site that's what zero station "measurement-wise" means. I assume that's with all the lady bits spread wide around the head as 3cm seems a bit short. But I do feel the head when I walk AND IT'S NOT SOFT!! Just for the record when the head is where it is your HIPS are MUCH wider than they should be THUS HIP PAIN.

Sex just sounds so gross at this point. It must have worked for Buckets though so Sarah keep it up.

Think I'm going back to sleep.........

TS could you please add onto the stats that we are expecting a girl to be called Brooke Olivia please. Thankyou

Shazza2002 · 05/08/2008 19:26

Evening ladies

Well hairs all nicely cut now so baby can arrive

Must say not atall happy about these queue jumpers I've tried the sex route and it's done sod all for me So my question is buckets what else were you up to that you haven't told us about?

PetitFilou1 · 05/08/2008 19:28

sazzles I stopped all that a while ago - can't be bothered with finding appropriate position etc just want to sleep! Quite concerned you are off the vino though

libbysister glad the ECV went well and lol at the doctor

bealcain will try again with the sling maybe with dh's help this time (when I next see him again that is ) I just got all hot and bothered and feeling too tired now... I guess because I have to drive a lot I need to find a way of wrapping and leaving wrapped so I can put ds2 into the sling in the boot of the car. Otherwise I can see me getting very cross with swathes of material trailing in mud!

cc Awwww re your ds's comments - am sure he felt reassured by your answer though

Not much to report here. Am grouchy, irritable and don't want to be so far down the list anymore. And it won't stop blardy raining - I'm fed up with it!

oopsacoconut · 05/08/2008 19:33

PF my friend used to tie her wrap first thing when she put baby in to walk eldest to school and leave it on all day just poping bubs in and out as necessary. Why are you planning on keeping DS2 in the sling in the boot?? surely you might like to take him in every now and then??

Shazza your hair looks lovely. I have booked myself in for a trim top and bottom on Saturday - hoping it may start things off, it's the only thing I have planned that is set in concrete.

miamla · 05/08/2008 19:36

evening ladies, no more babies today? anyone would think you're enjoying being pregnant!

all is well here, i'm loving my new boobs! they're huge! i managed to get a skirt on yesterday that i've not been able to wear for months so stomach seems to be shrinking (which is prob making my boobs look even bigger!) We had a fun shop in mothercare this afternoon so i'm now the proud owner of two more nursing bras. how long does this milk leaking lark go on for?!!

we haven't been brave enough to try DS in the wrap yet, neither of us trust our knots!

whilst pregnant Pip seemed to get hiccups about 3 times a day, and now he's DS, he's still getting hiccups 3 times a day! they dont seem to bother him and they're very amusing!

so what's the beverage of choice for tonight in the naughty corner?

Shazza2002 · 05/08/2008 19:39

Well that was my thinking oops. If I sit around doing nothing so will this baby! Although have nothing else planned for the week It is my favourite aunties 65th birthday on Friday, which would be 08/08/08 so I'm thinking that's a good day

miamla · 05/08/2008 19:50

lots of long fast walks seemed to get things moving for me

PetitFilou1 · 05/08/2008 19:53

oops lol - actually I might leave the other two dcs in the boot and just walk round pretending I am a first time mum

miamla milk leaking lark goes on for quite a while... those breast shells are good if you leak off one side while feeding from the other

Shazza2002 · 05/08/2008 19:54

So far have tried walking, pinapple, curry, sex and cleaning the floor on all fours !!!

It's really weird but up until due date I was fed up with the feeling uncomfortable, whereas now that bit doesn't bother me, I just want to meet the LO
