I go to bed and you all start posting - shall I get in the 'pf has no friends' corner?!

dizzy You could also try LaLeche League helpine on 0845 120 2918. And if I were you I'd post on MN under bf/bottlefeeding. Mears and Tiktok are bf counsellors with a fairly fearsome reputation (although don't know if tiktok is still about) - there will be others though I'm sure who can help. Is it the latch that's the problem?

TS at full intestinal flush

FHLH Hope things have moved on for you

sazzles Glad you managed to force down a small glass - phew

Hello to everyone else. I'm very tired today - dh kept waking up and then waking me up saying 'what is it? are you ok?' I was ASLEEP. He is obviously fairly anxious about me going into labour this time!

FoghornLeghorn · 06/08/2008 08:49

Sorry to dissappoint but still here with no baby !
Decided to go to bed and get some rest and after an uncomfortable hour or so next thing I knew it was 8.30am.
Absolutely zilcho now

PetitFilou1 · 06/08/2008 08:50

btw dizzy I like the names - glad she has one at last!

ataraxis · 06/08/2008 08:58

Morning all.

I am officially a bad parent... after putting DS2 in front of the TV at 7.45, DH and I had a bit of intimacy(before coming downstairs and giving the boys angel delight for breakfast .
There is some context to that - they had wanted it for pudding last night, but there was no way i was giving it to them at 7pm by the time we remembered... so had to promise it them this morning - and DH has them for the day so I won't suffer the consequences . Remorse?

ataraxis · 06/08/2008 09:06

Congrats on the name dizzy, it is gorgeous.

sazzles, was particularly worried about you and the lack of wine, glad to hear you recovered..empathising as the dominoes pizza for dinner last night spent the rest of the evening haunting me. Oh my goodness we have turned into the junk food family

TS interesting info there...

FHLH - watching your space...

oopsacoconut · 06/08/2008 09:19

Ataraxis - What a fab holiday treat for breakfst!!! I often did that with the kids at work when we had them overnight - the thought at sugar before bed was a no-no. So we would have a treat breakfast mostly something covered in golden syrup or chocolate! As for the 'sleepless nap' GO GIRL you need to get it when you can - or at least that is my current theory!

Morning all, hot tea and warm croissants on the go here so help yourselves

dizzy you've done your little dd3 proud - those are some seriously gorgeous names

VS great to hear that things are improving with your little one, sending him lots of strength vibes so he can come home with you soon

LOL at TS and her hiccuping butt

We both had a terrible night's sleep last night, for no particular reason. DP woke up at 3am thinking about Dragon's Den bingo ??? and I was of course awake many times for toilet trips, so we ended up just lying in bed laughing and being silly. Then just as we'd fallen back to sleep some guys from the council waste dept turned up to put a new lid on our wheelie bin...at 7 in the morning! It's not even bin day today, yet they still had the full massive lorry with megawatt beepers going down our tiny little road. Madness.

Anyway, he's gone off to work now and I've got a mw appointment in an hour or so. Also got a call from the surgery yesterday to say there's a prescription waiting for me as a result of my vaginal swab. Any guesses on what it will be? My money's on yet more completely useless thrush cream

Sympathies to those hosting less than welcome visitors today. I shall count myself lucky that my favourite aunt is visiting! She's lovely

bealcain · 06/08/2008 10:10

cyteen i would bet it's the dreaded pessary and cream!!

am so bored this morning, waiting in for my bits i ordered, why oh why haven't i even been given a delivery window more precise than between 7am and 9pm??

at least it;s a bit sunny here so kids in garden

ts how are you managing to get so much sleep? i thought MIL had gone?

Buckets · 06/08/2008 10:14

Morning all, first night of all 5 of us in the house! Very little sleep as Kurt was a PITA but given the stench of his many many eggy farts all night I think he was probably in some discomfort so can be forgiven. My milk is in this am so DH and DD have gone to buy me a pump, some paracetamol, gel-pads and sterilising tabs.
Finally got DH to look at my bum last night! It appears the source of my discomfort is a pile and a stitch competing for the same space so have requested an extra MW visit today to inspect and advise. Can't face getting dressed and going to BF clinic today, feeling too sorry for myself.

VG Yay for getting some feeds! You can glam up the SCBU with your Hotmilk bra.

CaptainCaveman · 06/08/2008 10:22

lol cyteen I read your post re. 'thrush' and 'hosting unwelcome visitors' and thought you were talking about your visitors as if they were akin to thrush . Perhaps they are?

DD superb name choices, love dylan as the first name too. Am with you on some toe curling feeding sessions. I seem to get awful irritable legs at the same time as feeding. Cue some very odd feeding positions! Oliver feeding whilst I wiggle my feet and legs around like some crazy dancer . Engorgement is also causing him a few probs latching on so am trying to keep on top of that for both of our sakes.

Also liking gravy elvis as this has a particular ring to it. Ds1 can't get out of the habit of calling ds2 Jerry but it is kind of cute.

I'm beginning to think that 08/08/08 will be a busy day for Aug thread babies....

TS how you doing? Am loving the new thread title you suggested btw.

Right, those of you in waiting - I am praying that today is your day. Prayers for happy, swift and memorable labours and lovely cuddly babies to arrive safely.
For those of us in the post-natal period - laugh, cry, cuddle, take pain killers and go with the flow. I kept crying yesterday just thinking about ds1 and how big he seems to be next to ds2. Crazy lady hormones .

Hehe, Sazz I'm experiencing a similar (though obviously more stupid) thing with my cats Over the last few days they've both been desperate to be near me ALL THE TIME. Maybe they can sense what's about to happen, like with earthquakes

Shazza2002 · 06/08/2008 10:35

Morning ladies

So no babies yesterday, will there be any today??? Please, please let it be me and all the others that are going mad waiting.

Been having pains on and off since weekend, but as soon as they get started they stop again.

Have midwife this afternoon, does anybody know how overdue you have to be before they even consider a sweep?

CaptainCaveman · 06/08/2008 10:36

I think you are right cyteen - my cat(s) have always been very sensitive. For most of my pg Hobbes (cat) would sit on my lap at any given opportunity, almost like he was cuddling up to the baby . And now he sits 'watch' as near to the babies crib/chair as he can safely get. Also, whenever he comes in from outdoors, the first thing he does is sniff Oliver's chair/crib.

sazz make the most of your precious days wtih dd. She won't even have to try to make you feel guilty afterwards, your hormones will do that for you!!

Piccies of Oliver on my profile!

shazza i'm pretty sure it varies around the country. they won't do one here till term +10. but then i had one last week 38+6, it was by a cons though not mw

oopsacoconut · 06/08/2008 10:46

Cyteen I'mwith you on the cat front - ours have never really been cuddley with me but now I can't sit for longer than 25 seconds before I have them on me (under my boobs on top of the bump) it is most uncomfortalbe but I have given in as it's not too long before they can't snuggle there at all or they will hate me for bringing a screaming thing into their house!

Sazzles enjoy your cuddles.

Buckets LALALALALALALALA I can't hear you what stiches/piles????

TS Liking the new title as I have been worried you would all bog off to a new post natal thread and leave me here waiting in September - then who would I feed may cakes too/ where would I get my early morning tea??

CC I'm with everyone else on the Jerry front - Who's Oliver??

Shazza ours will sweep at 40+2 and then book you for another 3 days later then book an indution for 42 weeks.

Who have I missed??? HElloooo to you if I have.

bealcain · 06/08/2008 10:48

oops - what you cooking today....i'm starving....been really peckish since i woke and it's shopping day tomorrow so sod all in house

oopsacoconut · 06/08/2008 10:48

CC just peeked at him - He's lovelydorable as some small child described his baby sister to me yesterday.

oopsacoconut · 06/08/2008 10:51

Bealcain today is quick stuff - chocolate tiffin, flapjacks and toad in the hole later for dinner. Tiffin and flapjacks for coffee shop but always make extra as there is always someone here who will test it. Any testing volunteers?
