Oh Buckets, that wandering stitch sounds so uncomfortable
Shazza - I had a sweep with DD2 on my EDD and was told this was quite unusual as I wasn't 'overdue'. However, when we had hoapital apt last week the midwife there told me to ask my midwife for a sweep at my next apt (which is tomorrow), I said I'd only be 39+3 so midwife would be reluctant to do it but apparently not, they will happily do after 39 weeks her for susequent babies.
Cavey Absolutely gorgeous
Dixie Great name choices, loving Dylan to be used as first name

DH just at the gym, I'm doing a spot of cleaning then taking the girls out to the forest to burnoff some energy and get in a good long bumpy walk

oopsacoconut · 06/08/2008 10:55

Okay gotta get moving now - nursing bra's won't buy themselves! chocolate topping on tiffin needs time to set so may as well hit the wonderful world of Cribbs Causeway (for those of you not in the Bristol/South West - read as SHOPPING HELL) to see a lady at John Lewis about super hoists for my norks!

CaptainCaveman · 06/08/2008 10:56

And just for you and your auditing brain sazz, I have updated my details too .

Right, am off to get dressed and make my self presentable. I might even venture out to Tesco today

So cats is the way to go is it. If they come sniffing around it means I'm in labour?? Nothing to do with lack of pelvic floor exercises . Is anybody else wearing a sanitary towel as just finding it's constantly damp down there?

So it seems if I ask for a sweep as I'll be 40+4 I may get one?

Shazza2002 · 06/08/2008 11:08

Very at all these baby pictures? They are all so cute and adorable.

bealcain · 06/08/2008 11:17

possibly Shazza...there's hope yet!

miamla · 06/08/2008 11:29

morning all
oops would you like my postal address for sending any excess cakes? i'll be more than happy to help you out!

i hate to disprove the theory but my cat is just the same pre and post delivery.

we had a particularly fun night... we had every bodily function/action in about half an hour. Everything from sneezing, hiccuping, crying (but only because he wanted a cuddle), poo leakage onto bed and clothes, sick (on clean bed, hair and carpet!) and milk leaking. And that was just DP! Seriously though, its amazing the amount of mess one like tyke can cause in such a short period of time!

have we had any news from Ilana recently? is little Saul home yet?

buckets you mentioned stitches and piles. i'm assuming you're referring to the piles of hand-knitted cardigans (with lots of stitches in, gettit?!) you've been given.
on a serious note, I've found that having a saline bath (1tbsp salt per litre of as cold as you can manage it water) really helps the stitches and piles. also, i've found that wearing bricks mat pads from sainsburys really help. they seem alot thicker than the other types i had and they help to cushion things whilst sitting down. ooh and pop to your gps to get some scheriproct (not sure about spelling). you can only use it for a few days at a time because its strong stuff but it really does work. have you worked out how to sneeze or cough with stitches yet?!

i reckon we should have some more babies on here today. who wants to go first? form a nice orderly queue!

miamla · 06/08/2008 11:59

oops just been trying to have a catch up and read your naked in the garden tale! hilarious but why did it upset the neighbour's wife so much? bizarre! as for your DH promising you won't do it again, classic!
tummy's rumbling so off to get some breakfast/lunch? not sure what meal i'm on, feel a bit jet lagged with the all night feeding campaign!

miamla · 06/08/2008 12:11

oh dear, i'm talking to myself here! what are you all up to without me?!

forgot to say..DP proposed again last night and i'm wearing my engagement ring again I'm so pleased to have it back on my finger, i felt quite naked without it (but nowhere near oops's levels of nakedness!)

cyteen · 06/08/2008 12:31

I'm here miamla Congrats on your re-engagement, what's the story there then?

bealcain you win the prize for best guess re. my prescription, it was indeed the pessary and cream. They couldn't have given me that four bloody weeks ago, then? Am annoyed at all that potential shagging time gone to waste.

Still, all was fine with the midwife - baby is still head down but not engaged yet, so looks like I'll be here a while longer. Feeling pretty rubbish today - blasted croissants have given me the worst heartburn EVER - therefore I am going to get in a nice warm bath and chill out.

TwilightSurfer · 06/08/2008 12:33

I WANT TO BE FIRST
I WANT TO BE FIRST
ME ME ME ME ME ME
{{{twilight jumps and down with arms up high}}}}

Only sleep since my last post which I can't complain about. I'm all achey again though. Belly isn't holding food for long...put it in and watch it come right on out. Makes me feel like one of those crazy baby dolls parent's pay top dollar for.

Captain, you've got a little cutie there!!! Sorry about the toe curling action but I know you'll manage.

....have more to say but DD just woke and needs assistance with her Cinderella dress before she can start her day.

bealcain · 06/08/2008 12:35

oooo cyteen what have i won??

congrats miamla that's so cute, i'm guesing he propsed again as you've had chubby fingers? does that mean i have to pay for a whole wedding again....aaahhh!

i've just had a major panic because i've realised IM GOING TO HAVE A BABY IN LESS THAN 48 HOURS

why has it taken me this long to realise? think i need to pack that dreaded hosp bag tonight

LadyOfWaffle · 06/08/2008 13:01

Wow, so many babies already! Congratulations everyone!!!!! I can't believe i'm only 2 days away for EDD, although the MW said I have (well, she asked if I was ok with it - but what can you say?!) to book in for a 'stretch and sweep' for the 15th Aug., maybe it's a sign she doesn't think baby will come? And discussed induction. Baby is still 4/5 (with an arrow pointing upwards next to it?) engaged, still the same painful twinges but nothing really consistent yet... I was so convinced I would have baby early! The MW I had on Monday confirmed I had severe SPD, but said there isn't much they can do now - she is trying to rush me a physio appointment but doubts i'll get it in time. I am glad I asked the new MW, so miffed the other one shrugged it off three times. That's about it for an update from me... all getting abit tedious now! x

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 06/08/2008 13:17

Hi everyone everytime I try to catch up with thread something calls me away.
Bloody real life interfering
Hope everyone is well, Had a trip to Ikea yesterday and had Braxton hicks all day and some very bizzare twinges.
Nothing today though, just been to local Apothecary for oils/advice etc...
Booked in for my 1st reflexology treatment on monday, looking forward to it.
She says she done two pregnant ladies recently who went into labour next day.

Scared to use any of the things I bought before saturday as need to get past then for HB.
Got a mw app in half hour, will be interesting to see if I am still measuring bigger.
