Thanks PF - that is one of the funniest things I have read in a long time. I couldn't bring myself to answer to it though!

Can anyone tell I'm putting off a rainy trip to Currys?

oopsacoconut · 05/08/2008 11:15

PetitFilou1 · 05/08/2008 12:15

bealcain · 05/08/2008 12:19

PetitFilou1 · 05/08/2008 12:22

No and she was already thinking about vaginoplasty

I couldn't live with a husband who was that concerned about the state of my lady bits - I'm all for looking after yourself but I think that is going a tad too far...

bealcain · 05/08/2008 12:28

she'll buy him enlargement as his present!!

AnnVan · 05/08/2008 12:29

Hmm I wander what that DH would do if she started making him have plastic surgery cos his bits aren't 'perfect' enough?

AnnVan · 05/08/2008 12:30

Oops - x post bealcain

PetitFilou1 · 05/08/2008 12:37

BabiesEverywhere · 05/08/2008 12:48

Here is the thread PF mentioned earlier Bleach in pregnancy

Off to read it now

TwilightSurfer · 05/08/2008 12:57

Oh oh oh oh I know the answer Oops....
The whole pelvic floor thing and the opening of the lotus....

It has to do with the action and the breathing. At this point you are suppose to be working in the opposite direction with your breath while doing the pelvic floor exercise. Let me see if I can explain this correctly......

Squeeze slowly in while breathing in \ Release even slower (letting down or opening the flower) while breathing out like you would during a pushing contraction. It's all very slow and controlled at this point BUT the "punch" is more on the let down than the pull up.

Geez I hope I remembered that correctly.

Will go and try and find the MW remarks where I learned it......

FYI this is the lady, Shari Daniels, who best explained the technique. I'm trying to see if it's described on her website somewhere.

Congrats Vg and skytv.

Lcy · 05/08/2008 13:06

Just have to vent: my father in law and his wife have just told us that they have booked into a cottage near our house for a long weekend starting this Thursday! I just feel it is so intrusive - they don't know i am having a home birth but even if i have had a hospital birth i may want a few days without visitors. I told them that it is likely that i wont have had the baby by then (will only be 40.4 weeks) and they said "of course you will of" - no pressure then!

The sad thing is that this is just a big part of a bitter competition between FIL and MIL who are divorced (but both remarried) about who will see the baby first.

Am i being hormonal and unreasonable?

Lcy · 05/08/2008 13:11

Sorry i meant next thursday!

Hello everyone by the way

bohemianbint · 05/08/2008 13:18

Hey Lcy - sounds like my inlaws who told me I had to pop by my due date last time or SIL would miss seeing the baby and would be very disappointed.

Are they only staying for the weekend? If so make sure you keep it in until they've buggered off!

bealcain · 05/08/2008 13:25

lcy i reckon you should do it at home and not tell anyone for days!! i'm a spiteful cow though!!

bohemianbint · 05/08/2008 13:28

Bealcain - sounds quite reasonable. I'm not telling anyone for a whole week this time.

Shazza2002 · 05/08/2008 13:30

Afternoon all

Just popping on to say congratulations to all the new arrivals. The boys really are taking over.

Well no baby here yet, few tightenings on and off to get me all excited then they stop.

Trying to keep busy to pass the time but as soon as I get any twinge then that's it.

At hospital tomorrow so will see what they say xx

Sorry to those that have been labouring for days, must be so tiring.

PetitFilou1 · 05/08/2008 13:37

Lcy YANBU but one good thing is that at least they are staying in their own space and not in your house! Much much easier. I would just try not to let it bother you too much - easier said than done I know but not worth getting stressed about. Not good for you or the baby!

Sibh · 05/08/2008 13:39

An abiding memory of my first, marathon, labour was FIL bawling at DH down the phone that we weren't keeping them updated, while I was flailing on the bed having a contraction and trying to get DH to notice that I wanted him to hold my hand.

Not quite up there in the violence-provoking stakes with MIL repeatedly saying, 'I know exactly how you feel' when I had a third degree tear, but not all that far off.

Legs crossed, Lcy, just to be awkward!

FoghornLeghorn · 05/08/2008 14:14

Oh Lcy that'd really get on my nerves !

I feel absolutely exhausted today, I think the lack of sleep, what little sleep is broken, DD's chicken pox has all just caught up with me. Sorry for tmi but I can't stop going to the toilet, I've eaten very little but I just keep going and going. I took refuge upstairs for a while and nodded off then DH had to wake me up cos he'd been called off on a job and now he wont be back til gone 9 tonight. Can you tell I'm feeling sorry for myself

sarahnh · 05/08/2008 14:29

huge hugs to you icy...

sorry you are feeling so rough fhlh.. i find that that if i haven't really eaten much i cannot stop going to the loo but it stops somewhat when i have eaten if that helps hugs xxx
