"ache in ache" meant to say ache in back!!!!

bealcain · 05/08/2008 07:49

morning all.

congrats to everyone who's delivered......i'm not in the slightest (not!!)

we're still in latent phase, it;s ridiculous, getting about 2hours of fretful sleep at night, and that's it. Been going since thursday so am shattered.

They won't induce me before friday as there's no reason to....wtf?? i'm gona be far to tired to push and end up with a c-section.....aren't i?

It;'s the same beginning of labour i had with ds2 so hopefully it'll be just as quick (15mins) when i get going.

So all in all i;m not in the grumpy corner, more the 'let's me optimistic and drown our troubles with tea and cake' corner....anyone want to join?
On a positve note, some money came through today so am busy buying ds2 a new pushachair and stocking up on some new slings

TS can't beleive we're both still here, what's happening to our little madams??

ataraxis · 05/08/2008 07:49

morning sarah, I have had bad back ache (or even ache ache, which is what it feels like), since yesterday... am hoping baby hasn't turned to be back to back as lower back pain was a major sign of it last time. Still, seeing MW today so we shall see..

Mmm scrambled eggs - can I have mine on marimite toast please? Oh, you are getting real eggs sazzles ...

ataraxis · 05/08/2008 07:51

oh bealcain, how boring for you... fingers crossed for today - here's some tea to start the corner off. We'll have to wait for someone who is up for home baking - or otherwise I could give you some carrot cake that MIL brought round the other day?

bealcain · 05/08/2008 08:03

i'm quite happy to wait until friday coz of the date actually lol

ataraxis · 05/08/2008 08:04

yes, definitely a good date to be born on!

Morning all. Sorry you're still here sarah and bealcain (in the nicest possible way!)

This morning I WILL finish off my final work report. Can't believe I've left it this long and tempted to just leave it, but equally after it's hung over me this much, I not going to just leave it. I WON'T spend the morning on MN....

oopsacoconut · 05/08/2008 08:58

Morning Ladies - Sazzles if you pop down the road you could always help yourselves to eggs from my parents garden they are away on holiday an no-one will know.

ATARAXIS I am back on the baking front today - have orders for 3 victoria sponges and one for DH as he can't possibly be left out. (he has eaten a whole one since sunday!)

PetitFilou1 · 05/08/2008 09:05

Hello all and congratulations to skytvaddict

Not sure I like being on this thread anymore (harrumph) - everyone popping and me being right at the end of August!

Had a lovely day yesterday - went shopping with dh, bought the dcs some clothes and me some bras etc then had lunch in a pub. Wore me out completely but it was great to spend time with dh alone as it is so rare.

Now have to do some work in the house to catch up on things I didn't do yesterday - bah humbug!

Sarah not sure it was VG's reflexology that worked or the fact that her lo broke out because there was just no more room in there for one that size!!

Aaaaahhhh Sazzles will join you on the rain front - i just went to get DH his paper from shop across the road [angelic wife icon] and now am cold and wet and need a nice warm shower! Was going to walk into town but i might just stay in and watch telly instead - to wet to do cleaning

poppysocks · 05/08/2008 09:25

Well, I managed 20 mins before my attention wandered... Amazing how quickly I've forgotten what job I do . Thankfully we don't seem to have your rain (yet), so DD and I are off to a PYO/farm in a while so don't have much time for the work. Then on to midwife who doesn't want to see me (local midwife who told me at 22 weeks she didn't want to see me again until after LO born, so didn't make any more appointments. Was then bollocked by hospital for incomplete notes, so went back, made extra appointments and was told I was wasting her time since it's my 2nd. I offered to cancel and she said "Well, come back if you must" . Bloody mindedness made me keep the appointment.

Bit worried about DH who never gets headaches, but has had one since Friday and its getting worse. Refused to stay at home today and instead drove over an hour to get in and sounds even worse now. Painkillers aren't denting it. Hmmm.

Rather tired today after I failed to go to bed until late last night and the cat woke me up miaowing outside the window at 6am. Sadly DD next door to us so she also heard.... Oh well, more time for work. Speaking of which...

cyteen · 05/08/2008 09:25

Morning all, cheers for the hot tea. Turns out DP completely forgot about our birth centre appt last night as he'd been so busy at work, so we're going on Saturday now. He got all anxious that I'd go into labour before then, but somehow I think this little one is in it for the long haul...I'll be surprised if we get to meet him before 40 weeks. Have had no contractions, no cramps, no back ache (any more than usual anyway), no show, no nothing! Just the occasional foot poking out of my side or kicking me in the ribs.

He does seem to be shifting about less, so maybe he's engaging and getting settled in ready for delivery Here's hoping.

Good luck to all in Contractors' Corner today (I'm looking at you sarahnh, bealcain and of course our threadmaster TS). Say it with me: my cervix is opening like a lotus blossom...

ataraxis · 05/08/2008 09:36

poppy - Midwives... grrrr

oops - any cake will be just lovely

sazzles - just dropped DS2 off at nursery (thank goodness, he is going to be horrible after only sleeping 9.30-5.30 - mind you, so am I...) and got some eggs on the way so here you go

oopsacoconut · 05/08/2008 09:39

Here's a question for all of you - How can I imagine my cervix opening like a lotus blossom but at the same time doing pelvic floors to tighten the rest of the area up, so i stop wetting myself when I sneeze!

LOL oops - I had wondered the same thing... surely pelvic floors work against us at this point? but a bit concerned that I might mistake a bit of splillage for waters breaking

oopsacoconut · 05/08/2008 10:03

Okay, off with my opening lotus flower and tightening pelvic floor to buy a dishwasher as mine thinks that he will be too busy when bubs arrives to do dishes regularly . Now just have to go and discover what's what with them. So if you see a dazed woman walking around electrical shops on the South West shaking and muttering about place settings, adjustable racks and cutlery trays just point me towards the nearest tea place and i'm sure i will recover!

poppysocks · 05/08/2008 10:16

Oh God... Despite my having asked her 5 mins beforehand if she needed the loo, DD has weed on the sofa. So much that it's gone straight through the cushion and out the other side. If she's feeling a bit neglected because I'm trying to crack on with a bit of work we're going to be in for some real fun...

PetitFilou1 · 05/08/2008 10:50

oops Your dh is right!

poppysocks Are you planning to b/f? If so I'd suggest a breastfeeding box full of things dd gets to play with just when you are feeding. My friend's ds used to wee on the floor just out of arms reach when she was bf no2 - they know how to get your attention Here's hoping that my dd doesn't regress as she did when we moved house.... Fingers crossed.

PetitFilou1 · 05/08/2008 11:01

Oh. My. God. If anyone is up for a laugh, please look at the bleach in pregnancy thread in pregnancy (sorry don't know how to link to it)

I have been ROFL at some of the posts - it is not about what you might first think, much funnier.
