She is gorgeous Dizzy. Fits right in with your other lovely girls. How are they getting on with DD3? Can't wait to hear what you decide to call her.

Sorry the pain meds are causing your probs CC. Can they offer you an alternatives?

Reality starting to dawn here. All this talk of sleep deprivation, cluster feeds and sore nipples is scary. Still can't wait to meet LO though.

DH and I have just had a lovely evening out. Bite to eat and a lovely wander round town as it got dark and then final drink overlooking the sea just at sunset. Hoping to have another night out this week and then on Sunday night before our early morning appointment at the hospital a week on Monday. Eek! This is a countdown now. 9 days...

MrsMagooo · 03/08/2008 01:22

Awwwwwwwwww Dizzy she is gorgeous!!

CC Sorry to hear the pain med is making you feel like poo Hope you feel better soon!

Am well & truly pee'd off - had been getting regular contractions, 7-8 mins apart lasting just over a minute each for a good few hours, decided to go to bed for some sleep as they're weren't overly painful - woken up starving but no contractions - bum!!

TS How are you doing hun??

Xx

longwayfromhome · 03/08/2008 01:58

beautiful baby photos ... dizzy, albs, miamla (I think that these are the ones that I have seen so far ... but all very beautiful if I have missed anyone else) - congratulations for all the new babies, really lovely news - I love logging on to hear the latest news.

No baby news from here, but a very nice day with swimming this morning and this afternoon a concert at the university. The orchestra weren't great, but still quite good, and the programme nice, with a viola concerto and some tchaikovsky - I guess that this will be the last time that I get to go to this kind of concert for a while!

Celery soup this evening for supper and on the coffee rota for church tomorrow, which means getting up early, so off to bed now.

TwilightSurfer · 03/08/2008 02:07

Evening. Party was absolute disaster. SIL pissed that we didn't make the "important" part. DF all guilt talking. DH told me before we left that we shouldn't even bother because I was feeling rough. I should have listened. Came home and cried loads. Made issue with MIL seem trival. FIL drove back to hang out with MIL this weekend. I put them up in a hotel down the street in an attempt to smooth things over. The break will do us good I'm sure. She called to check on us a moment ago. Also came home to gifts left by a dear friend. She left so much stuff I feel slightly embarrassed: a boppy pillow, a pillow cover, a mommy bag, two baby sleep suits, a blanket, and some diapers....for me PLUS a whole bag of goodies for DD. Made me cry even more but for a good reason.

MrsM, the baby is giving me trouble and I think I've figured out why. She's facing front now. I think that's why I'm in so much pain in my back and butt area. She's knocking the crap out of my fango and lower belly. Before I go to bed I'm going to google to see what I can do to get her to turn around.

So very happy for Dizzy and Captain with their beautiful little ones. How AMAZING!!!

TS sorry that it was such a tough evening, but I am glad that things are hopefully getting smoothed over with your PIL this weekend - it sounds like it will be a positive time for you all, with a bit of a break.

Sending lots of positive thoughts across the continent.

Buckets · 03/08/2008 05:19

Anyone up yet? I've been contracting every 15mins all night, basically since having sex! This baby has never approved, always gives me hassle afterwards! For that reason I don't think it's actual labour but just taken some paracetamol and decided to get up rather than lie and clockwatch. Actually a bacon sandwich would go down a treat...

Lcy · 03/08/2008 05:58

Hello Buckets - how are you doing?

I have major pregnancy insomnia so am drinking hot chocolate and eating toast.

Buckets · 03/08/2008 06:11

Morning, we'd better put the kettle on for everyone else then . Bacon butties all round too (cheese toasties for the veggies?)
Last 3 contractions have been 10minutely eeek. No sign of a show though.

Lcy · 03/08/2008 06:16

Totally out of touch with thread - are you booked in for a cs? Could this be the real thing?

Buckets · 03/08/2008 06:23

Booked in for CS Tuesday (39wks.) It's possible I guess, been going on for about 10hrs now but not getting particularly worse. Will just wait and see if it continues, and maybe phone hosp at a more civilised hour to see if they'll give me an exam.

Lcy · 03/08/2008 06:26

I know i will regret saying this but i am 39 weeks and there is no sign that this baby is going to come out. Only 4/5 engaged and no braxton hicks - i am so uncomfortable - i would love a sign that things are getting started.

TwilightSurfer · 03/08/2008 07:13

Hey LCY good to see you.

Buckets {{{hugs}}} I'll trade you.

Right now I'm in so much discomfort. I've been on a body rotation since 8pm. Baby is all squirrelled up inside of me. Can't figure out what way is up, honestly. And it hurts. I just want some SLEEP!!!!!! Would trade a day of 24 hour BH for this anytime. I think my hips have also slip completely. No regular contractions. No blood. No waters. WTF!!!

Read a lot about Posterior Babies on the Spinning Babies Website. Makes sense that that might be my problem. Especially since I had lots of good contractions week before last but with no cervix change.

This is all so crazy. DD1's birth was so straight forward. CS thoughts are plaguing me now. Lack of sleep is making me nutzo. What on earth is my body doing!?!?!?!?!

Morning all
Buckets You might not be in labour but carry on with the sex and you will be! All those prostaglandins!

I'm finding it very odd all these actual babies appearing. Still feels a long time off for me! Picked up homebirth kit yesterday though.

Off for a day out with my friend and her two dcs today - hope I am still awake at the end of it. It is great to have other children round to entertain mine while dh is working though.

See you later!

Buckets · 03/08/2008 07:59

TS Hope you get some sleep soon, have you got a support belt for your hips? A posterior baby will come out without CS, it'll just hurt like hell vaginally without an epidural. Your weeks of misery do sound like my first baby (posterior), I think the position causes the Pelvic Girdle Pain.)

Sazzles, big hands sounds horrid, don't be afraid to defrost a bag of frozen peas with them if it does the job.

Well I declare myself not-in-labour - still contracting but have had some 20minute gaps and just breathed through one without DD even noticing. Ohh here comes one!

sarahnh · 03/08/2008 08:10

Morning Everyone..

Hope you are doing ok Buckets... i have been like that for days.. cheers for the bacon buttie, srummy..

Dizzy you new daughter is gorgeous, hope you decide on a name soon..

I have very forgetful head this am and suddenly cannot remember what anyone else has said so really sorry... oh TS i do remember that you are struggling again so hopefully you are asleep..

Well after a rotten day of pain and being very grumpy managed to sleep last night which was great.. but the first thing i woke up with this am was a period pain arghhhhh.. this lo will be the death of me...

anyway hope everyone has a good day today.. need to think of something to do with dd as she was like a caged animal yesterday xxx

Jennylee · 03/08/2008 08:18

congratulatiions to those who have given birth. I had my girl on tuesday the 29th at 8 in the evening after a 5 hr labour induced with prostin gel as my waters had already broken the day before. it went fine I am lucky and feel quite well.
we are still not agreeing on a name so none yet.
she was 6 pounds and 2 ounces
she is a terrible feeder so my feeding plans are a bit derailed. but all is well.

this thread really was nice to be on, hope everyone has the best of luck when their babies come.

sarahnh · 03/08/2008 08:22

congratulations jennylee!!!! xxxx

VintageGardenia · 03/08/2008 08:36

dizzy how's your little girl doing?

albs hope things are still going well on the feeding / sleeping front with Henry.

jenny congratulations on your daughter!

Buckets yikes you must be knackered by this stage, hope it either steps up a gear or gives you a break, if you know what I mean. Bacon butty, yum.

TS sorry to hear your party was tough going, put it out of your head, least of your worries at the moment should be whatever your SIL is giving you grief about, she sounds selfish.

lwfh what a lovely civilised life you have! We spent yesterday at an aquarium and then a funfair (I went on nothing but would have hated all the rides even if not so zeppelin-like). Absolutely shattered! But desperately trying to think up a last few ents for DS. Like you, sarah. Hope you have an easy day today.

CC looking forward to more news of Oliver if you manage it. Is Tom thrilled skinny with him?

Buckets · 03/08/2008 08:37

Ooh congrats Jennylee! Do ask the good ladies of Mumsnet for help re feeding, there are some experts around.

I'm pretty ambivalent about whether this baby comes before Tuesday, everything's ready, inc emergency childcare, so it doesn't make a difference to us. Just need a couple of thin square blankets for swaddling (discovered I only have cot blankets which are too big.)

oopsacoconut · 03/08/2008 08:51

Congratulations JennyLee.

TS sending {{{{{hugs}}}}} hope you have managed a little painfree sleep.

Brain no longer functioning - Not alot of sleep and a few painful contractions during the night not sitting on the deck eating ice cold tinned peaches and a cuppa.

HAve promised DH a proper fry up before I head for church so had better make a start - anyone else want one?
