Evenin' All

Just back from lovely refexology lady [sigh relaxed sigh] she poked my endochrine system and side it's feeling ripe and ready for labour, she also poked my digestive system as apparently a good clearout can help get things on the go. She won't do any proper encouraging labour poking yet as she says I feel ready and won't need any encouragement. So made another appointment for next Friday and then she said she would do a little labour poking but will save that for the following week when i'm 39 weeks so hopefully I won't go too far overdue. I felt like saying just poke the place FFS I want bubs out!!! but I know it's for her own good to let her cook until the end.

Bealcain - how do you do the relaxed thing so well??

PetitFilou1 · 01/08/2008 21:23

Right I'm off to bed - in preparation for weekend of trying to stay out of the house so that dh can sleep in the day (aarrgh)

Hope you all have a good night

FoghornLeghorn · 01/08/2008 21:24

Sensible Sazzles advise taken. DH came home at 8 bearing gifts of Fish & Chips, Coke and Chocolate ..... perfect ! DD's fast asleep, will tackle Tesco in the morning.

Good Luck Bealcain. Fingers crossed things aren't too drawn out for you

ALBS Hope you are feeling a bit better this evening

Sazzles How odd about the flowers but a lovely unexpected gift to receive

congrats gg isn't it ace!!

good luck Bealcain

TwilightSurfer · 01/08/2008 22:16

YA'LL are TOO Funny!!

Feeling like I could properly give birth tonight. Just a gut feeling though. Oops I could have used some of your reflex work but I did manage some yoga. Bowel systems totally fixed [tmi i know]. Planning to have a nice burger and fries for dinner to properly fuel my engines. I've been quietly contracting all day but no niggley feelings down low as Sarah describes them. Who knows this may be my lucky weekend.

Where are you Bealcain?!?

Sazzles the flowers were from me. NOT!

hello all! Congrats to the new mums! gosh. Went for maternity tour at the hospital, and then MIL and her DD stayed around until DP got back. Definitely wanta waterbirth methinks.

stillhere · 02/08/2008 00:01

Okay, so I've missed the end of the last thread and ?4? babies... Goodness me! Congratulations to all the new mummies, and I'm delighted that Saul is back home now with IlanaK. Good luck to Bealcain and everyone else due on the other side soon.

PF we picked up our homebirth kit on Wednesday and had a quick peek inside before quickly closing it. Full of lovely stuff like suture packs, vom buckets and needles. Hooray. Having just finished reading a book about homebirth I still feel it's the right choice for us, as my first birth was pretty straightforward and relatively quick for no.1 (4.5 hours all up). I've had the odd wobble thinking about it, particularly as we've still no kitchen/heating blah blah, but I'm getting my head around managing in this tiny space we do have....

Will try to check in more regularly this week as I don't want to miss out on any more births! Wishing everyone contented sleep-filled nights...

stillhere · 02/08/2008 00:02

Make that 6 babies... must check in here more regularly...

TwilightSurfer · 02/08/2008 01:55

Stillhere...that would be 8 babies so far

FoghornLeghorn · 02/08/2008 06:51

I'm up again ! DD1 still asleep so just me and DD2 atm. I feel like I could just sleep for England.

Something quite sad dawned on me yesterday. Although I am excited about having this baby, I'm actually more excited about us all just getting back to normal and being settled again. We've been pretty unsettled for a while, we lived with MIL then moved here then I fell pregnant pretty much sraight away. I really can't wait for the 5 of us to just settle and click and start leading a normal life. And now I can't even wish my last 9 days away because of the dreaded CP

Twilight Hope you have a brand spanking new baby for us this morning

Explain the reflexology to me, does it really work ?

FoghornLeghorn · 02/08/2008 06:52

The itchy spotty one has just risen too

AnnVan · 02/08/2008 06:58

Here Foghorn - have a cup of tea. I have not slept at all (again). First kept awake by heartburn, then just couldn't nod of, and then the rstless legs kicked in grrr.

AnnVan · 02/08/2008 07:03

Am off to bed to try (yet again) to get some sleep. See y'all later

sarahnh · 02/08/2008 07:42

Morning everyone...

big congratulations to gg and cc, very envious that you have your beautiful babies..

heart goes out to you fhlh, its bad enough when your lo's are under the weather but when you are this pregnant it must be so tough {hugs}...

hope you are at the hospital TS having your baby...

A secret admirer Sazzle you lucky devil!!!...

Quick update from me.. i have been up all night with pains, loads of plug leaving me, hoping it ramps today as two days with little or no sleep has made me so incredibly tired!!!!

Got the coffee and a vat of tea on the go xxx

sarahnh · 02/08/2008 07:43

forgot to wish all the best to Bealcain.. know where you are coming from hon, hope you managed to get some sleep and your lo makes an apppearance today xxxx

bealcain · 02/08/2008 08:03

morning all, still no baby....getting a bit narked off with this little madam! at lest she's giving me grief now, she'll be an angel through her teens!! took some codein last night and managed a full hours sleep dh gone to work this morning said if i have the baby this morning je can't get away

still lots of contractions, will probably take myself into hospital this afternoon, beg to see my consultant and get him to intervene in some way, shape or form! (always the optimist)

MW said it;'s a very wierd way to labour with your third, but since i had such a long latent stage with ds2 it's likely that it;s just how my body works. on the up side though, i went into labour with both boys on a saturday and they were born sunday morning so who knows??

anyway good luck TS hopefully you're not too far behind

oops glad you enjoyed your foot session....

AnnVan · 02/08/2008 08:08

Bealcain - Your LO really is being a little madam isnt she??can't really think straight enough to make coherent conversation. I just want to sleeeeeeeep! Waaah.

oopsacoconut · 02/08/2008 08:26

Morning All

WOW there are 8 babies already and it's only the 2nd August

Well the reflexology if nothing else gave my the full first night's sleep in forever.

Bealcain - Sending you BIG labour {{{VIBES}}} you need to tell her that her eviction notice has been served and she must leave your body!

TS - {{Labour Vibes}}for you too - She has made it to 38 weeks she too needs to be evicted!

Has anyone noticed the pattern??? It seems to be the girls causing trouble with the on, off, maybe, maybe not labours.

Off to buy DH a coffee from Costa then beware anything living under the sofa! I'm cleaning again.

PetitFilou1 · 02/08/2008 09:19

oops dd came out in 2.5 hours flat so I'm afraid that ruins your theory! Mw was saying 'don't push' and I said 'she's coming whether I push or not!'

sazzles Thanks - I don't need persuading though! I am very comfortable with the decision. dh says ds2 can come after 13 august when he's finished all his on call for a while but not before

TS Maybe dd is staying in because of all the chips (I mean fries) - if you go healthy she might get the hump and come out!

Bealcain You are the opposite of me with the latent stage - I really really feel for you (and TS) I'd be going mad by now.

Got to go now and fetch kit and wait for friends to turn up..... will check to see if anymore babies have arrived later....

pregnancy1 · 02/08/2008 09:45

Morning everyone.
Hope everyone had a half decent nights sleep - esp those who look like they are about to pop today.

Albs - hope you are feeling better today. Hugs x

Tea & a slice of lemon drizzle cake anyone? It is magnificent even if I do say so myself - so easy: www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/4942/lemon-drizzle-cake

Oh, 2 of my neighbours had reflexology and nice easy labours, so I'm trying to hunt down the details so I can start.

K x

Ouch, I have been having BH's all evening and then all night, everytime I woke up to wee/turn over I still had a rock hard uncomfortable tummy and still onward to this morning.

On the plus side DH got up with DD and took her out of the house, so I got a kinda lie in and woke up to an empty house...very strange feeling.

IlanaK · 02/08/2008 12:22

Good morning everyone.

Beclain and TS - hope you go into proper labour today and get those babies out!

I had a bad night last night with little Saul. He fed pretty much constantly from 7pm until around 2am when he finally settled a little. After that he woke around 2 hourly. He is in bed with us so I don't mind feeding him lots in the night as long as he settles back to sleep after (which he was doing the previous two nights). But last night he was unsettled the whole time which meant no sleep for me And yes, I am a breastfeeding counsellor and know its all normal, but that doesn't make sleep deprivation fun!

He is much more settled this morning so here's hoping for a better day.
