Evening All,

Charley, I am so impressed with you. Replacing a radiator? I refuse to do so much as change the kitchen bin now. DIY is not my forte, I've got to leave something for DH to be much better than me at

Scraggy, what a fantastic DP! You're DP is the sort that all the other DP/DH's are going to be thinking, "great, thanks mate!", when we all start giving them earbashings at what a perfect partner you have. Still can't complain. Mine made me a beautiful risotto (bless him, he was in the kitchen for an hour and a half), fed me ice-cream AND washed up. Although he wrote the card at about 7pm after I had asked him for it about 3 times. No idea of romance....

Uwila, I got into such trouble after my last general. Someone came round to offer me + DH some toast. When it came, we shared and wolfed. In walked a nurse and looked at me in utter horror. What did she expect? I hadn't eaten in about 10 hours and general or not, I was starving!! Thanks for the advice though, I will take in my own food.

Uki, I really understand. I was pgt again after 2 months and I struggled for WEEKS to believe everything was okay. Really, it was only at about 16 weeks I calmed down at all. I was a paranoid mess until then, as was DH. Big big hugs for the 23rd. I'll be thinking of you. Like you say, we are the lucky ones...

Mrs Wed, thanks for the recipe. Looks lovely. Have you tried the peanut butter cookies as well?

Did anyone else hear Scraggy saying she was looking forward to the birth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

charleypops · 15/02/2005 17:40

he he I know Tea - I'm really revelling in the last of my "lady of leisure" days

Jonah - there's no way I could do that now with my bump! though I was particularly impressed with myself when I did it - I drained the whole central heating system down, lifted the floorboards and soldered redundant pipework all on my own. Saved a fortune on a plumber! Sadly I daren't let dp anywhere near even screwdriver. He's been threatening to put up a stairs handrail recently for me to "hold onto" when I get (even) bigger which is frankly worrying.... The coat hooks I let him put put up a couple of years ago fell down under the weight of ONE jacket! I had to replaster about a metre of wall before I could fix that one!

Lua · 15/02/2005 17:50

Back frommy mw visit and everything is Ok.
Apparently I have an uterous of 28 week pregnant woman.... apparently nothing to worry about yet, hopefully this guy is just stretching a lot and not really this big!

Jonah considering how unconfortable I am, I am definetely lookingforward to birth!

LipstickMum · 15/02/2005 17:53

Man, you all got verbal diarrhoea while I was away!! AND you talked about sex !!!! I am never going away again

Have picked up on the main bit of news.... Congratulations Tessie on you little boy. It's you and Posh then eh? 3 boys

I'm going out for a slap-up Italian tonight, pasta cooked properly 'al dente' and just delicious, cannot wait!

LipstickMum · 15/02/2005 17:55

Oh, I also picked up from something Charley said, that Pink is royalty and is bezzy mates with Camilla and helping her choose the wedding frock ??!! Hehe!

Tessiebear · 15/02/2005 18:29

Lipstick - i figure that if it is good enough for posh and the queen then its good enough for me!

Tessiebear · 15/02/2005 18:32

Charley - i am just about used to the hair except the friendly trolley pusher in Sainsbury totally blanked me today - as did a vague aquaintance i saw in the line at the Cinema!!!! I fell like i am in disguise!!!!!

Scraggyaggy · 15/02/2005 18:37

When did the October thread start???? Surely they can?t have finished conceiving yet???

Uwila ? I know what you mean about not being able to breathe. I could set up my own ?dirty? hotline I sound so breathless most of the time!!

KVG ? Oh, I miss my runs too. I feel so unfit and tubby and totally helpless!

I am glad to see that everyone else has adopted the afternoon tea tradition. I would never have even contemplated it before, but nowadays if I don?t eat in the afternoon I turn into a M-O-N-S-T-E-R!!

I think you should all know that DP can be a complete pain in the proverbial as well. He?s not all sweetness and light. He?s an absolute demon for making me tidy up, wash up, clean up, get up and many other compound-verbs up!! I spend most of my weekends sulking about not wanting to do dreaded chores, doing Kevin impressions, as he tries to re-train me!!

Jonah ? Am only looking forward to the birth as it means a temporary end to feeling physically uncomfortable in the belly area for a while. Although I?m sure that after a few days of cracked nipples I?ll be looking back with fondness at the good old pg days!

LipstickMum · 15/02/2005 18:49

Apparantly you guys are all eating for England, so I am not going to feel too bad about my extra teacake in the afternoon. Time to let myself loose on the pasta tonight Am bloody starving!!!!

PinkArjuna · 15/02/2005 19:59

Oh but lippy she sure needs help with a frock that Camilla. Oh well. Leave the old sods to it if you ask me.

I'm under orders from my consultant to go for gentle walks. I must say the last few days of going walking again properly have been most beneficial. I think I have finally got rid of my throat infection so feel better today. I think coughing off the puss balls that were clogging my tonsils is a definate turn around

Thanks for the offers of cheering up. I find if I feel sorry for myself long enough I start to get bored and pick up a bit. I think it is just having the flu then a throat infection that knocked me out a bit.

After spending the morning sleeping and waking up for neighbours I feel quite refreshed. Not to mention I had an indulging time imagining getting whisked off my feet - much better than the reality of smelly socks and football if you ask me

It seems so many people have had problem pregnancies in the past. I guess you take it forgranted at times. Bubba was decidedly still today and I found I was very glad when he started playing football with my insides again.

thelollipoplady · 15/02/2005 21:47

Hi everyone - just taking advantage of the advert break in the OC to update you on everything. Had my scan today and found out I'm expecting a girl! I've also got a placenta that's a bit low but it's expected to move out of the way before baby arrives.

Is anyone else just huge at the moment? I keep looking at my maternity clothes thinking they just won't last till the end. I'm thinking of buying a family sized tent for the last few weeks...

JonahB · 16/02/2005 08:08

Congrats to you on your girl!! Glad we have one more to add to the vast numbers of boys we seem to be generating.

Am I the first one on today? Where have you all gone?

As for eating, I had a massive tea last night, followed by ice-cream. I then went to my local pub quiz, where they kindly provided chips and minstrals. Which i ate most of. My DH at one point tried to give me a joking "do you really need all that food" look. My returned facial expression soon shut him up

Scraggyaggy · 16/02/2005 08:10

Morning all!

Who's gone under cover as thelollipoplady then?

Uwila - Where are you this morning? Thought you'd have beaten me to it by now!

Pink - You just got to wait for the right man that's all. And from my experience, it WILL happen. There are so many good blokes out there who have similar feelings about women, and just don't think it's going to happen. My DP is an angel, I don't give him credit really. We had both been hurt badly in the past and had both been single for 2 years before we met AND neither of us wanted a relationship or were looking for it. To be honest it was a mixed bag of emotions at the start as we knew we loved each other but were just waiting for the other to shatter the illusion, which then resulted in the old "I'll make sure you don't hurt me, by hurting you first" routine. Luckily, we straightened this out and I can honestly say we are so wonderfully happy now. After my previous experiences, I just didn't think that was possible. I hope you don't find my comments annoying, I just wanted to share my story with you. x

Scraggyaggy · 16/02/2005 08:14

Hello Jonah! I'm here!

I've now decided that part of the flab attaching itself to my waist and derriere is not in fact baby fat at all and genuinely belongs to me!!! OMG! So, am going to try to have a smaller dinner and not eat so much cr*p during the day. (Saying that I'm sat on the train eating a bacon buttie at the moment... )

tribpot · 16/02/2005 08:16

Congrats on your girl, lollipop!

I don't seem to be consuming vast quantities of food (yet) but I have noticed I've been feeling decidedly hungry when I wake up in the morning, so I fear it could only be a matter of time. Today I am finally bowing to the inevitable and going to buy some maternity trousers.

I had a similar thing Pink - the bean was v quiet all morning yesterday and I started getting nervous, til I went and had a bath and it looked (and indeed felt) like an alien was about to come bursting out of my tummy. The kicks are definitely getting stronger, dh can feel them now, which keeps him happy.

morning all!!

i have one night off to have a curry with FIL from hell and you all gas for england!!!

As a second timer my bump is no bigger but i wasn't big with DD, but i do this losing weight thing whilst pregnant it would appear so all my lovely fat which keeps my size 14 jeans up disappears whilst PG and is replaced by baby!! but low and behold it was all back not long after DD was born and i'm sure the same will be true this time!!!

OP posts:
teabelly · 16/02/2005 09:13

Morning girls,

Lollipop yeah another girl...almost have our 5 aside now!

Pink glad you're feeling better...sounded delightful ...it's a funny old thing being pg - we moan when they don't stop kicking us black and blue, then fret when we haven't felt them move for 1/2 and hour!

As a second timer and weight watchers maniac (still weighing and measuring myself furiously ) I can tell you that I've been a little over 1/2 an inch bigger this time compared with the same stages last time and there's only about 2lb's in it...on the down side last time I thought it was all baby and was mortified on leaving hospital to discover that far from being able to do up my old jeans they were nowhere near getting over my knees for a good few months so not quite a Liz/Posh figure recovery for me!!

Lua · 16/02/2005 09:14

mORNING ALL!

I am home agian with DD...what a weird cold she has...no fever or any bad symptoms... she is just knackered all the time so can't keep up at the nursery...

KVG... I wish it was true... I am definetely much biggere the second time around! It is to be expected since your muscles in the bump are not as strong to keep it in. But everybody carries differently and stores fat in different place.
Some of the fat we acumulate on our behind will be used (hopefully!) later to feed and care for the baby!

As long as you not in your way to put more than 3 stones I wouldn't worry!

Uwila · 16/02/2005 09:22

What? You lose weight when you are pregnant?! That's disgusting. I've always hated women like you....

MrsWednesday · 16/02/2005 09:28

Morning ladies,

Big congratulations on the girl Lollipoplady! Tessiebear was also told she had a low placenta - are you going back for another scan later on?

JonahB, your DH is a brave man to question a pregnant woman's food intake. Brave or foolhardy! I had my usual early tea with DS, proper tea for me after he'd gone to bed, then a chocolate brownie last night, and woke up feeling very hungry this morning.

As a second timer I'd say my bump is a completely different shape than last time, it's much higher for starters. It's probably difficult to believe going by what I've just written but I am trying not to give in to every food indulgence (just 90% of them) and I'm still going to the gym 2 or 3 times a week. This is primarily vanity on my part as my sister is getting married in September and I really don't want to be a fat wobbly bridesmaid, but it's also an attempt to stay a bit fitter so I can still keep up with DS. We'll see how much longer it lasts...

So where's everyone feeling kicks these days? Do they vary? I'm getting some really high up near my ribs and some very low down - baby must be rolling around all over the place.

tribpot · 16/02/2005 09:28

KVG - don't feel bad I was already - shall we say - fuller-figured, so already had a tummy, plus as I'm not working I've just been mooching around the house in the only pair of trousers that still fit (with occasional changes to my joggers for when those trousers are in the wash!).

It's quite good cos it means I can still buy wine in the supermarket without thinking anyone's going to report me to Social Services Although I feel I should buy some maternity tops since now I am allowed to show off my tummy, rather than keep it under wraps!
