Anyone else out there? Just got faint, but definitely there, BFP.

Due 1st April, according to those dodgy due date calculators.

Hi, can you fit in another 3rd Apriler?!
Its my second pregnancy, have got a nearly 21 month old little boy. Am feeling seasick all the time and trying not to feel sorry for myself but still slipping into it quite frequently! Soooo can't wait until the feelings of nausea have gone. Last time it was 12 weeks so I really hope its the same or less.
My ds is quite exhausting but I guess that's normal! He got more clingy interestingly the day I found out I was preggers. Just hope I am doing all the right things so that it won't be tooo hard when the newborn arrives
Well, thanks for existing! It is comforting to read about other people's nausea etc! And to share the lovely journey!

Hi all,

I haven't posted for a while as I've had a stinking cold this week and have really suffered with it. Also I'm at 7 weeks now and still don't have any symptoms apart from continuously sore boobs, so I'm feeling like a bit of a fraud. I know I should be grateful - but I want something to happen!

Have booked my 1st midwife appt for a couple of weeks' time so maybe that will make it feel more real.

chloemegjess · 23/08/2008 12:01

Sorry to those who have dropped off the list.

Can I ask, what should you do if you have a bit of a bleed? I just want to be prepared as although i am constantly checking, I dont think I would know what to do if it did happen. Do you phone Gp, hospital? Do you go for a scan straight away? Sorry just no idea!

OddEyes · 23/08/2008 12:32

chloe - put a pad on so you can monitor how much and what colour. if bleeding continues make an appointment with gp and they may book you in for epu scan. that is what i did anyway back in march. think bleeding started tuesday, gp on thursdday and epu on friday

finikin · 23/08/2008 12:34

Hello ladies - I feel like I'm late arriving at the party! Got my BFP this morning, a bit of a shock 'cos it took us 9 months to concieve dd and we have only just started trying for no 2 - didn't expect it to happen straight away. The calculator thingy says I'm due 30th April. Looking forward to getting to know you all.

tristaleejac · 23/08/2008 14:22

minouminou and salbysea we're due date buddies!
how are you both feeling?
I had a serious tantrum with myself this morning cos I couldn't find a single bra in my house that fit me. Of course I'm delighted with these new huge boobs but when you don't have any bra to comfortably stick them in it gets a bit crazy!!
So, off to the shops to get measured.
Apart from that i've got slight nausea every day and seem to be able to smell EVERYTHING within 100 metres!!
I'm happy though, I'm trying to put all negative thoughts, worries, fears to the back of my mind so that I can relax and enjoy being pregnant.

hopeful1 - how are you, just wondered after you were having same weird pains as me. Mine have gone now, hopefully yours have too.

SalBySea · 23/08/2008 15:00

tristaleejac

I'm with ya on the smells thing - had a little lavender thing in the top of my wardrobe(under a pile of clothes) which I could smell from my bed till I had to ask DP to get rid of it

Denny185 · 23/08/2008 15:32

It was around this time last when I got an unexpected BFP, DD2 is now 20 weeks old is fab. Wishing you all happy uneventful pregnancies and births.

chloemegjess · 23/08/2008 15:58

I don't know why, but I just have an overwelming feeling that something is wrong. To the point of tears! I know its silly as I have no proof but I just don't feel like it is ok. Maybe just all the hormones going a bit funny!

mm1509 · 23/08/2008 16:34

chloemegjess - It's sometimes difficult to stay positive I know with me one day I'm up the the next I'm down. I've had 2 mc before and keep feeling the same thing will happen again although really I have no reason to think so.

I do think hormones and also our mothering instinct kicks in combined it can take over if we let it.

I also don't believe that we "just know" when something is wrong, when I was pregnant with my DD I was convinced that something was wrong up right until I could feel her move and she is a now happy, cheeky 4 year old.

If you can relax and try to enjoy this time (believe me I'm one to talk) and in a few months we can all laugh about our paranoia.

Take care xx

SalBySea · 23/08/2008 17:04

chloe, in the run up to my scan yesterday I "felt" that it would be bad news (no heartbeat or ectopic or something) - I was absolutely sure - and it was fine - good strong heart beat in the right place

SalBySea · 23/08/2008 17:10

p.s. I was convinced to the point of tears in the taxi on the way there - saying things to DP like "best get it over with sooner than later" and stuff

All my instincts told me that there was no-longer a life in there.

I know we're told to trust our instincts but at this time we're not in our usual state of mind are we? and hormones are all over the place too. All my family members who've had kids all say that "you just know" when you're pregnant long before you take the test - well I didnt! and I'm usually quite intuitive but pregnancy seems to have turned that on its head and I can only trust hard evidence right now - my "feelings" have gone all wonkey

mathsmummy27 · 23/08/2008 20:59

Evening all. Just had a pot noodle
It was soo good but every time i hit a mushroom I retched. !

MegBusset · 23/08/2008 22:41

I am officially feeling nauseous! Reassuring but bleurgh.

Hi all the newbies

chloemegjess · 23/08/2008 22:58

Feeling a bit better now. Just sooooooooo tired! I have an Usborne book event tomorrow (my second job) so will be standing a lot of the day, but in some ways, at least I get a break from DD for a few hours.

I am off to bed in a bit, just finishing sorting out my books for tomorrow.

tristaleejac · 23/08/2008 23:20

Hi guys, just thought I'd say a quick hello.
Ha ha went to bra shop today and this poor woman had just finished fitting me with the most horrific looking maternity bra when I had to push it back into her hands and run out of the shop, thought I was going to be sick on her. It was the heat in the fitting room I think. (thankfully I'd managed to get dressed first)
Had to go back once my tummy had settled to apologise!
Was kind of glad in a way though cos really didn't have the heart to tell her the bra she thought was perfect for me was pretty awful, and far too expensive!
Anyway hope you're all feeling good today.
jac x

nzbabies · 24/08/2008 00:58

I got tears in my eyes reading your email about your worries Chloe - its so funny - I am v emotional! I really do think our hormones make us all over the place. I dreamt I had a miscarriage last night but I have never had one and I feel fine. Well I feel nauseous so that is a good sign apparently!
I am sooooo looking forward to the second trimester!

BabyBolat · 24/08/2008 07:22

I am so glad I found this site - it's so reassuring to hear all of you pretty much reading my mind!!!

Yesterday I woke up with heartburn but no nausea and was like an excited child that I didn't have that horrific feeling anymore. However by lunchtime I had convinced myself that the lack of nausea meant something was wrong and sent DH out for a test but by the time he had got back the nausea had returned in full force.

At 7 O'clock last night I was sat on the bathroom floor crying my eyes out with DH trying to reassure me that the baby doesn't hate me and the constant sickness isn't a sign that I am carrying some sort of evil spawn inside of me!

I also cried when my mum told me I am starting to show (which at almost 9 weeks I took as her calling me fat!) until she explained that it was more the fact that my boobs had doubled in size - hmmmm!!!!

Tristaleejac - how funny! - am dreading that bit - am currently the 2 bra's I have left that fit me and I know I am going to have to bite the bullet and go soon.

Chloe - I agree with mm1509 - you can't know, you just have to trust that everything is going to be OK!

mathsmummy - hmmm pot noodle - it's only 7 O'Clock in the morning - can I get away with one for breakfast???!!!

Night out in Edinb. went well although my new flat shoes were digging into me something terrible. No-one batted an eye at my excuse and I did allow myself one small glas of red wine (check me all relaxed second-timer) We were in one of those french rustic restaurants and had to ask for more bread as I tucked away @ 10 slices before the starters

DS was at Grannies overnight and I stayed in bed for 12 hours, waking at 10am, getting breakfast in bed from DH and reading the Sunday papers....bliss.

Did have some brown spotting again yesterday but nothing so far today. 12 weeks can't come soon enough.

conkertree · 24/08/2008 12:41

Have changed my nickname back to my original one, as have now told my sister (who is another mner). Also have a friend who is a mner, but will just have to hope that if she sees posts of mine, she wont tell other people till I have done.

Foxy - night out sounds good - we were out with my pil - didnt want to do the antibiotics story so dh made me a ginless g&t, then he drank my wine at the table. Mil noticed once or twice but think we got away with it - was quite funny to watch as dh got tipsy a lot faster than anyone else. Know what you mean about the second time thing - i took the odd little sip of wine to keep the cover up, and I probably wouldnt even have done that the first time!

had diarrhea last night now convinced something wrong or harmed baby by eating something bad.
also had big cry about having a downs baby as had really vivid dream, plus in it dh left me with best friends wife!
my eyes watering at slightest thing - yay pregnancy hormones!

FRAGGLE06 · 24/08/2008 13:50

In my dream my husband left me for Angelina Jolie because she bought him a bag of watches, wtf??
Yeah, like she's need to really buy anything.

I have also accused him this morning of prefering every woman on tv to me. He's actually utterly devoted and wonderful. Hormones are great.
