Anyone else out there? Just got faint, but definitely there, BFP.

Due 1st April, according to those dodgy due date calculators.

Littlelady123 - Sorry to hear about your scan, we all just hope for some reassurance when we get our scans and when we don't get it we are left in limbo. Hopefully the dates are out and everything will turn out fine.

Take it easy and hope you have plenty support aroung you for some much needed TLC.

Take care xx

kittyDug · 24/08/2008 15:14

Hi littlelady how many weeks pg are you? What are your cycle length? I'm waiting to go back for a scan because it was too early to see a sac for me at 5 weeks.I have no bleeding either.

OhDearyDear · 24/08/2008 19:13

Hello!

I have added myself into the list. I'm due on the 28th. Bit of a shocker as we weren't trying but had a little 'accident'... (it's that damn preg test that MNHQ sent out I tell ya!! ) but we're very happy about it!

I'm not outing myself quite yet though...

bethdivine · 24/08/2008 20:39

hello ladies, hope you are all feeling ok. I'm not managing to get on here much and can't believe how quickly the thread has moved on everytime i return!

been feeling rotten all day every day, don't remember it being this bad with DS at all. i can't face the thought of food, but need to force something down me regularly as feel 10x worse if I don't eat. I loved every minute of being pregnant last time and am feeling worried as am just not enjoying this pregnancy at all so far, which has shocked me as was over the moon to get my BFP.
hopefully this will pass soon.

bethdivine · 24/08/2008 20:42

sorry, meant to say welcome ohdearydear and congratulations

kizkoz · 24/08/2008 20:54

Chloemegjess - hope everything is ok and you are feling better. My DD was born in Jan and her name is Meg! Is that a bit spooky!!

StorkExpectedInApril · 24/08/2008 21:00

Evening all and welcome ohdearydear!

It seems that there are quite a few on this thread whose appetites are poor but is there anybody whose appetite is still the same? My appetite is still the same!

I seem to be slightly more aware of my pregnancy on a morning as time passes - queasiness is increaing but luckily, still no vomit!

Not long now until the early April mums-to-be will be having their 12wk scans (I'm assuming here that most will be having one?).

MegBusset · 24/08/2008 22:25

I have been eating like a horse, it was the same last time round -- I have to keep eating as when my stomach's empty the nausea's much worse!

JemimaPuddleduck07 · 24/08/2008 22:52

Welcome ohdearydear.

Have been reading about everyone's symptoms and am getting worried as I have absolutely none at all. I did another two pregnancy tests today and they were both positive so I guess everythings ok. Normally I get really bad ms so I should be really relieved to be nausea free but all I am doing is worrying!

mizzannie · 25/08/2008 09:36

hello everyone welcome to all the new bfps and sad to see some have left .
since wondering how i managed to avoid ms, i seem now to have developed nausea that attacks at odd moments. i also have bloodhound sense of smell and sniff round the house trying to find whatevers making me feel poorly (washing left too long in the machine, puppy's breath etc).
loving all your tales of hormonal ups and downs. feel weirdly guilty that am not on a big high all of the time, terrified of labour (went on a hospital tour- stirrups - arrghh) and moody/clingy/asleep with dh who is a SAINT for not telling me to b*gger off.
now have to travel abroad for work and DREADING it, but scan next week so looking forward (but fearful too, nothings simple is it?)

conkertree · 25/08/2008 09:44

thanks oddeyes for pointing out my stupidity - my nickname changed from aprilitisthen back to conkertree.

stork and jemima - we are all due on the same day, and seem to be fine so far with regards to symptoms. But - I checked my diary for when pg with ds, and my ms only kicked in between the 6th and 7th week, so I am trying to enjoy this spell with no ms just now as am pretty sure it will kick in with a vengeance in a week or so's time.

StorkExpectedInApril · 25/08/2008 10:14

conkertree - yep, my ms kicked in during pg#2 after week 8, so I know that I'm not out of the woods yet!!

There are four of us due on 24th (yourself, jemima, flirty and myself) but I wonder how many of us will actually give birth on that date?

In fact, it'll be interesting to see how many ladies on our list actually do give birth on their due date....we could start a book, let's see now...there are 57 ladies on the list and I've read that only 5% of women give birth on their expected due date which would mean that only

2.85%

on our list will do so!!!

So come on ladies, who are you???!!!

tristaleejac · 25/08/2008 10:35

stork - that's pretty good maths for this time on a monday morning, well done, I'm still in a daze even though I've been up since 7.30!

It is a very interesting subject though, cant wait til we're all on here sharing tips on how to get these babies out. It'll soon come around.

conkertree · 25/08/2008 10:49

i doubt it'll be me stork - i'm very rarely punctual.

tristaleejac - i'm in a bit of a daze too - ds decided he didnt need much sleep last night so was up every few hours, and by 4am i had had enough so took him into bed with us. he then sat up and sang to us for about half an hour and then spent the next half an hour trying to get into a comfy position - arms and legs flailing out in all directions - knees in my eye etc etc - was really funny but had to subdue laughter so he didnt think it was a game.

he woke up this morning, happy as anything - dh and i were groaning when the alarm went off.

SnoozyVic · 25/08/2008 12:57

Happy Bank Holiday everyone!

Please may I join you? Was so pleased to find your thread and spent the last week reading the whole thing to catch up. Phew! It's my first time so reading all your posts is doing me the world of good.

I should be due 26th April.

Gemzooks · 25/08/2008 13:01

hi all,

just back from a week visiting family in the UK, so will need to catch up. Saw local (Dutch) midwives today and was able to hear baby's heartbeat on the doppler, very fast, so that's reassuring. Still very scared about the whole Dutch no-pain-relief childbirth culture. Maybe I can bear it without an epi second time round! Hope everyone is not feeling too sick!

shellbaby · 25/08/2008 13:48

Hi,

found out on wednesday that I was PG - so now 4 weeks and due on the 24th April 2009.

Only tried twice so major surprise!!!

conkertree · 25/08/2008 13:50

hi snoozyvic -congratulations. It is a very long thread already isnt it? Looks like we will be onto a second very soon.

Gemzooks - when they say no pain relief, so they give you gas and air, or absolutely nothing? I had ds with gas & air, but was very reassuring to know that if I needed anything else, it was there.

OhDearyDear · 25/08/2008 15:35

hello!

I'm in the same boat as Jemima. I haven't been feeling very 'pregnant' yet. not really sick. (had horrible ms last time) but my boobs are getting sore, which is a PITA as DS is still pretty obsessed. I have done half a dozen tests (all pos) but i'm afraid to lose this little one as it was a (welcome) accident and I don't know if I'll get the chance to have another. just being stupid and hormonal i guess. oh the joys!!

conkertree · 25/08/2008 16:06

congrats shellbaby - another 24th april girl - we're getting quite a collection.

ohdearydear - how old is your ds? I'm the same with the no symptoms - keep meaning to buy another test just to check that the line is getting thicker etc as the first one was very faint and second a bit stronger, so wanted to check but have stopped myself as I would just end up spending lots.

I think we should think of something else to talk about to take our minds off symptoms (or lack thereof). Would be nice to find out a bit more about people since hopefully this is the start of a long journey together (is that too sickly sweet - sorry to those of you who already have ms if I've cause it to flare up there).

Ok I'll start - I'm 26, have one ds aged 12 months. Live in Scotland. Am a solicitor (part time now) but also did a kilt making course while on mat leave, and am in the process of setting up a wee business.

I am fairly laid back about most things, but occasionally things get my goat (like very opinionated mners who make others feel bad for choices they make). Like outdoorsy things, films, travelling, and spend lots of time with my sister and her wee boys (one aged 3, one 9 days younger than my ds).

Ok who's next?

Gemzooks: please tell us more about the Dutch system! If you want pain relief, what is actually available? Are the take-up rates of pain relief really low as a result of cultural pressures for none? Why is pain relief sneered upon, what is the thinking behind it?

And do they give pain relief for c-sections???

FRAGGLE06 · 25/08/2008 16:17

Hi Conkertree

A few headaches and slightly emotionally unstable but no other symptoms here.
I am 30, have a 16 month old daughter and live in Surrey with my husband.
I run my own consultancy from home so I can work around my daughter which I am really grateful for.
I love cooking, cars and taking our daughter to the zoo.
I'm so laid back i'm horizontal. But this is a consequence of mellowing since I met my gorgeous husband. I was an agressive, hard drinking city girl horror in my twenties. It was a blast.

Who's next?
