Anyone else out there? Just got faint, but definitely there, BFP.

Due 1st April, according to those dodgy due date calculators.

whatawally · 22/08/2008 15:55

congrats to ipod and kizkoz.

Babybolat. With me I had no probs with dd1 whilst pg, hardly any m/s. But she had to be delivered by forceps. She was my longest labour at 4 hours and the only one I had to have stitches with. Gas and air only.

I was very poorly with dd2, not m/s but sacroilliac joint dysfunction. Was on crutches and had to have hydrotherapy. The birth was much easier then the first tho, took 2 hours no intervention required. Gas and air again.

dd3- Really easy pg no previous symptoms, a little bit of m/s. But not enough to bother me. Was admitted into hospital and induced at just gone 37 weeks due to pre-eclampsia. Labour 2 hours again. Gas and air. No probs other then me throwing up 3o mins after the birth.

This little mite is already giving me jip. I am so sick I dont know what to do with myself. Not exactly throwing up but intense nausea all of the time. Very bad headaches and extremely tired.

I think all pg's are different tho, the first mite well be the hardest because it is all unknown. You get scared about how hard your labour mite be, how you will cope with the pain. Will there be any complications. How long will you be in labour for. Etc.

At least if you've done it a couple of times you know your body a bit better and have a better idea how you might cope with it all.

Hi Everyone,

Hope you don't mind if I join, BFP on Sun and my due date should be around 20th April.

Hope I am not jumping in too soon last two preg ended in mc and have an early scan booked at the EPU next Fri, trying to stay positive though.

We have one DD (4) and she is keeping us sane in all these exciting yet scary times.

Fingers crossed xx

lixanismapolium · 22/08/2008 15:59

Whatawally - I had sacroilliac joint dysfunction too! OUCH!!!!!!!

Really pleased to see that you didn't suffer with your 3rd - I was just assuming that I would have a problem again as I did last time.

BabyBolat · 22/08/2008 16:02

Welcome IpodMermaid and congrats!

Thanks FoxyMagoo and LMDFJ - guessing all are different and the MiL lies!!!!

lixanismapolium- I presumed the problem would raise it's head again aswell. Was so pleased when it didn't.

Hopefully you will get away with it too this pg, it dopesn't make for an easy pg.

mm1509- welcome to the thread- good luck on trying to keep up with it tho, every one talks so much on this thread

mm1509 · 22/08/2008 16:20

Thanks whatawally,

Should do ok with the thread as I seem to be reading anything I can get my hands on regarding pregnancy atm. Trying not to be obsessed second time round but not doing a very good job.

Positive thoughts and good vibes to everyone!!!!!!

mathsmummy27 · 22/08/2008 18:09

mm1509 I am the same (2nd time too) just devouring every book, even though I wore them out last time!
I love knowing what's going on in minute detail though, and easier to talk to m/w and doctors when ou know the medical terminology.
I have a date for my first scan so excited!

StorkExpectedInApril · 22/08/2008 18:46

Hello everyone, hope you're all well today. Welcome to all the newbies, I reckon the majority of April '09-ers are already here...and that the May '09-ers are starting to declare themselves!!

fourth - my ds (pg #1) was premature (34.5wks). My waters broke spontaneously at 34wks, they gave me steroids for his lungs, and I managed to hang onto him for a few more days after that (leaking amniotic fluid on a drip-drip, daily basis - sorry if TMI!). With my dd (pg #2), I had my 20wk scan then walked along the corridor to see the consultant. All he said was that my risk of another premature labour was 25% and that my first labour was probably early due to an infection. I didn't see him again after that and was given no further special treatment. However, as your dc was born at 27wks, you may be under closer scrutiny that I was. My dd, by the way, was born 1 day late!!!

SalBySea · 22/08/2008 19:16

Wow - seems to be lots of newbies today - what a busy little thread its becoming

Had dating scan today - I was irrationally nervous but its in the right place with a little heartbeat. Looks like I swallowed a diamond ring!
I have been demoted from 7 weeks (according to last period) to 5 weeks 5 days, feel like i've already DONE week six! Oh well, it was kinda expected cause I sometimes have long cycles.

Went for a swim today which chilled me out a bit - I am gonna have to work on my stress levels, am such a terrible worrier since BFP which cant be good! If I continue like this I'll turn into a bull-bar covered 4by4driving home-schooler with an entire first aid kit in my handbag on the odd occasion I actually let my kids out in the big bad world Where's my normal chilled out, look on the bright side, self??????

Now have 2 due-date twins minouminou & tristaleejac

Thanks for the congrats, and ditto to everyone. My EDD is 23rd the same as chloemegjess. My DS was 2 in June and my DD is 7 months old and I'm feeling a bit daunted at the thought of having a third so quickly but also excited, we always wanted 3.

kizkoz · 22/08/2008 20:15

Sorry, and the same EDD as Reesie. x

Due 3 Apr. Have known for a few weeks (in fact I knew when we DTD - just like last time, how weird). Anyway I am already mum to DS 19mo. I had Obstetric Cholestasis last time so not really looking forward to that again... but excited all the same.

Hello and good luck to everybody . I'm just joining now, I'm six weeks today but could be less because I have 32 day cycles. I have had 2 m/c's in the last year so fingers crossed this time. Went for a scan last Tuesday but too early to see a sac, have been having darting vaginal pains. Has anybody else been getting these pains? I had them the last 2 times but not sure if they are normal or not. Worried sick.

babypringle · 22/08/2008 20:34

babybolat - i'm a second timer and like LMDFJ it's harder because I have DS to look after, but it's easier in some ways because it feels more familiar - I know I survived morning sickness, having a huge bump and labour with just gas and air last time therefore I'm pretty sure I'll survive it again. Try to enjoy the moment and make sure your DH looks after you well ...

mm1509 · 22/08/2008 20:40

Hi Kittydug - Know exactly where you are coming from as in a similar situation 2 mc since Dec, I've got a scan booked next Friday so hopefully i won't feel so paranoid after that. Not an expert on the pains you are getting but probably just stretching muscles they can be pretty painful at times.

I've re-added myself to the list as I seem to have disappeared for now.

kizkoz - Wow, you have the same due date as me AND You have a daughter the same age as me! Although my DD is actually nearly 8 moths now, but keep saying 7 as I cant believe how fast time flies! Was your DD December or Jan?

redorwhite · 22/08/2008 21:38

Hi Everyone

Can I add myself to the list. Due 20 April. Already have one DS aged 2.

Have zero pregnancy symptoms at the moment - waiting for the sickness to kick in

StorkExpectedInApril · 22/08/2008 22:18

redorwhite, welcome to the thread and please add your details to our list when you get chance! (just cut and paste the list in a new message and then amend it with your name).

fourth - so sorry to hear your news, take care.

Evening all! Yay! The weekend! Welcome all new BFP.
Sorry to say goodbye Fourth. Take care.
AnybodyHomeMcFly - poor you with the OC. I itched from ~35wks, drove me insane.
Ms worse this time but sure it is like someone else said last time ds wasn't tiring me out was being treated like an invalid and slept for britian those were the days! Ginger ale no longer works, now on tuc biscuits
Just remebered carpel tunnel - think your brain tricks you into forgeting certain things and remembering pregnancy as easy - sorry to first timers it is fun and exciting but is hard going at points even if it is just indigetion you get but well worth it
Nite all!
Oddeyes 7+1

Hello all!

Blimey, I haven't been on here for a while (keep being too knackered in the evenings to go online, just want to crawl into bed) and it's taken hours to catch up! Exciting to see how long the list has got (though also sad that we've lost a few people ).

Really glad to hear some other people are having a teeth-cleaning problem. I can't seem to clean them for longer than a few seconds without having a loud and violent retching fit and having to stop. A bit worried that they're going to fall out esp with the constant grazing I seem to be doing. Guess I'm lucky in that other than teeth cleaning, I'm only having quite mild sicky feelings. Maybe I'll try to get some of that aloe toothpaste.

I had an amazing day today - went for an early scan and saw a 15mm long kidney bean with a tiny heart beating away at 158 beats per minute. There's a baby in there!!!!! . Though DP still appears to be finding it hard to believe this is really happening - his verdict afterwards was 'well yes, I saw something, but don't know what it was, it could have been fake'. Dont' think he's going to believe it til he's actually holding a baby.

We went to a private clinic for the scan - felt a bit indulgent but my NHS scan isn't til nearly 14 weeks and I was finding it really hard to wait esp as been having crampy/shooting pains on and off for a few weeks. Am now 100 quid poorer but considerably reassured.

Happy bank holiday weekend everyone! Hope you all manage lots of rest.
