Anyone else out there? Just got faint, but definitely there, BFP.

Due 1st April, according to those dodgy due date calculators.

MS went at 14 weeks for me last time

StorkExpectedInApril · 20/08/2008 18:37

I had my last vomit at 17wks with pg2, though I didn't have sickness every day by any means and I think the last vomit was after a few weeks' break too. Try to avoid known triggers if possible! Not easy though!

It's very odd, usually I don't eat much fruit but I've been eating bananas, apples and smoothies - must be a substitute for the chocolate. I keep waiting for my chocolate head to come back....so far, dead as a dodo

whatawally · 20/08/2008 19:02

Hi all,

So sorry to hear of more dropping out or our group- my thoughts are with you.

Eves- Try not to worry, rest and take it easy, big hugs.

I am another one suffering terrible m/s. Not usually being sick but such an overwhelming feeling that I will, it's far worse then my other 3 pg's.

Yesterday saw me head down the toilet first thing, urging and urging. Going through all the motions of puking without actually puking. That was pretty horrid.

I was a bit scared this morning when I woke up and had no nausea at all for the first time in weeks. I lost my baby in Jan at this stage, so a bit sensitive about it.

But mid-morning nausea hit me again like a ton of bricks. Have to admit it was the first time in weeks I was happy to be feeling so ill.

I still haven't heard from my midwife yet. Filled in my forms a week and a half ago. But i'm only 7 weeks so will hang on to see if I hear from them for next week. That's going on 8 weeks being the norm for first appointments.

Congratulations- On the bfps for all our newbies, I cant believe how big our thread is already.

Well gota go now, dh is home.

Best wishes to all.

bethdivine · 20/08/2008 19:53

evening everybody. sorry to hear of people dropping off the list and hope you are on a shiny new list very soon.

i've still had the constant nausea today, trying my best to act normal in work, paranoid everybody is staring at my belly! I think I'm going to tell people soon - at the moment clothes wise I'm limited to tent like stuff as my normal work clothes make it look fairly obvious I'm pg - quite pleasing it's looking like a cute little baby belly, rather than just plain fat, even tho' some of it is left behind from DS! so I'd rather start wearing my normal clothes again for as long as I can and feel cutely early pregnant rather than plain fat!

break through with the nausea though - a cornetto fixed it this afternoon shortlived, but enjoyable whilst it lasted! so DH came home with a bumper pack of cornetto, ben & jerry phish food and vanilla choc chip cookie dough! am also struggling to drink water as it just rattles around my stomach and makes me feel worse, but ribena seems ok (just incase anybody else struggling with that one at the moment!)

Am waiting for the date for my 12wk scan, saw my MW at 5wks, which was really lucky, it made it all feel real to start carrying my notes around with me again! I got on with her very well last time and had just bumped into her out of the blue twice last month, and said to her jokingly it must be a sign, then there I am on her list 2 wks later!

anyway, I've dropped off the list, so I'll try and update it and add the new BFPs in too if I can find them all.

ScrumptiousBumptious · 20/08/2008 20:39

Good evening everyone,

Well the morning (if only!) sickness seems to striking most down with avengence, myself included. Am looking forward to 11 weeks when it stopped last time (oh, and the indigestion which was far far worse took it's place. Hmmmmmmmmmmm) That makes it sound all bad - it wasn't and it's not!

Bethdivine, am very jealous of all your icecream treats. Yum. Although I still can't face anything sweet the old me would have been in ice cream heaven. I remember in my ;last pregnancy my hypnobirth practitioner told us all that ice cream was a very good thing to eat in pregnancy! I trusted her completely after that!

I like your tips little my. I must get some nuts / bananas / raisons for my handbag (although give it 2 minutes and it'll all end up in a big pile at the bottom I'm such a messy thing!)

Hope everyone's had a good day!

JemimaPuddleduck07 · 20/08/2008 20:43

JenJam - so sorry to hear your news. Make sure you take good care of yourself. I don't know if this helps but I had a MC a couple of years ago and got pregnant straight away again with no further problems.

evs34 - hoping everything is ok for you.

Stokexepectedapril - I know we were both very lucky to conceive in the first month but poor DP is a bit disappointed though as he was looking forward to many more months of lots of BDing!

Chloemegjess - Are you still exclusively breastfeeding or does your DC take a bottle too? DD2 has just started (this week!) taking a bottle in the afternoon and evening. Still BFing the morning though as she wakes so early and it means an extra half hour in bed!

RachelinScotland - did you get extra tired when you were BFing and pregnant?

ScrumptiousBumptious · 20/08/2008 20:48

Jemima, I'm still breastfeeding DD (13 months). She wont take a bottle (boo hoo!) and feeds morning and night. Her morning feed can be about 5am though, and I am already feeling very tired from this one. How old is your DD2? Are you planning on keeping up the breast feeding? I don't find it is making me any tireder yet - other than being a rather inconveniant wake up call (but I do get to go back to sleep afterwards for another hour or so.)

ScrumptiousBumptious · 20/08/2008 20:50

That was a bit confusing - I feel tired at the time of the early feed, but then fine again after another couple of hours sleep. You're going to think I'm so tired I can't make sense!

chloemegjess · 20/08/2008 20:51

Jemima - I am still exclusively breastfeeding. Starting to wonder about stopping now, as I dont want to put so much strain on my body. I am hoping to carry on at least until my scan though, so I know I am in this for the long haul first.

Really sore belly today, like period pains. Hoing all is ok.

Keep worrying so much that something is going to go wrong. This wasnt planned but I am liking the idea more and more everyday.

chloemegjess · 20/08/2008 20:53

Forgot to say. Feel like shit. Having trouble brushing my teeth, as it makes me want to vomit. I remember this now from when I was preg with DD, I was often sick when brushing teeth. Feel so tired, especially for the first part of the day.

ScrumptiousBumptious · 20/08/2008 20:55

Hi chloemegjess,
How old is your LO? I'm starting to wonder about stopping too. Maybe in a few months! My nipples are quite sensitive now when DD feeds, but it's certainly not unbearable. Just weird!

It's great that you are getting more excited every day! Me too!

ScrumptiousBumptious · 20/08/2008 20:56

Know what you mean about brushing your teeth. The only times I used to be sick last pregnancy were when brushing my teeth! Luckily that hasn't happened yet this time.

OddEyes · 20/08/2008 20:59

Same with the teethbrushing for me too, am going to buy new toothpaste tomorrow. Haven't brushed my teeth tonight, not even going to try - yuck! Going to need the free dental care!

bethdivine · 20/08/2008 21:01

DH took ice cream out of freezer to soften, then forgot it for half an hour so now I can't eat it as it's making me feel ill looking at sloppy ice-cream! ahhhhhh, pregnancy rules of food nonsense eh??? I am also suffering with indigestion, which is much earlier than last time.

but I popped onto Sept thread and got all tearful when I realised yep, this is real, there's a baby growing in there again! makes it all seem so realistic, reading about people due to pop and already popped!

anybody started having to get up to pee during the night yet? I've had to a few times this week. The irony of it, DS isn't the best sleeper by any means, and it usually goes that he's woken, we've finally re-settled him, I'm just about to drop off, then ping, bladder calling again, then it takes me forever to get back to sleep!

bethdivine · 20/08/2008 21:03

last time I found that switching to a toothpaste from holland & barrett (or any similar health shop) really helped when cleaning teeth - think it was called aloe dent or something similar, but because they're more natural, the flavours aren't as strong as colgate etc.

StorkExpectedInApril · 20/08/2008 21:05

How come all your bf ladies are pg? I thought bf was nature's contraceptive or does it work only until the baby is about 3-4mths old?

I think cleaning your teeth is gag-worthy too, especially when trying to clean your back molars [gag emoticon]

JemimaPuddleduck07 · 20/08/2008 21:15

Scrumptious - DD2 is 11 months. She's got quite a mouthful of teeth now and has bitten me a few times so I am more than ready to give up BFing (although I will miss that special closeness too..)

Chloemegjess - I've had crampy pains for two weeks now. I was so sure that AF was coming and that I wasn't pregnant. It was only when everything started to smell weird and I started all the time that I finally started to wonder if i could possibly be pregnant. Still have the crampy pains.

bethdivine - needing to pee during the night is such a pain. I have the same problem as you as DD2 wakes at the slightest noise. I'm seriously thinking of recarpeting over our lovely stripped floorboards to cut down the noise. DP was not amused when I suggested this as it took him ages to sand down the floorboards!

bethdivine · 20/08/2008 21:16

stork, some ladies get zero contraception from BF, whilst others get it for months - DS was nearly 1 before my periods returned, but I've known women get them back after a couple of months. that's why the HVs are so obsessed with asking what contraception you're going to use the minute you give birth ( contraception...try a baby who won't sleep!!!)

I think the general rule is only rely on it as contraception, if your baby is under 6 months, hasn't yet been weaned, is excl. BF and is still feeding regularly over 24 hours...and even then only rely on it if you could cope with an unplanned pg

ScrumptiousBumptious · 20/08/2008 21:19

Stork, my period came back at 11 months when DD cut down to 2 feeds a day. We were very pleased though, as wanted to have another DC with as small a gap as possible.

Anyone watching BB and annoying Rex?

bethdivine · 20/08/2008 21:22

ha ha jemima, thinking of you carpeting your floorboards - can you get a couple of cheap rugs just for the night time??? am trying to remember when the needing to pee at night stopped - i managed to train my bladder so well last time i didn't get up last trimester at all, doubt it'll do so well this time as don't like an unexpected joke or sneeze these days

ScrumptiousBumptious · 20/08/2008 21:23

I hate the night time wee. Sleeeeeeeeeep is too important to be interupted.

OddEyes · 20/08/2008 21:23

the whole bladder filling in world record speed thing is another annoying symptom for me too during the day every hour at least and then at night up twice and with lots of strange dreams i don't often go back to sleep properly so am always the first to hear ds at 6.30!

mathsmummy27 · 20/08/2008 21:28

hello ladies, hope you are all well.
I have found the cure-all for my nausea...cheese. Am keeping babybels in bag and slices of edam in fridge. Bizarre!

I am lazing around like a big fat sow. Someone convince me that exercise will make me feel better?!

ScrumptiousBumptious · 20/08/2008 21:30

Excercise will give you more energy and make you feel so much better.

(Is that okay? Scrumptious gives excercise advice when she has done no excercise for the last forever, and has no intention of doing it either!) Ahhhh, the lovely sofa.
