Anyone else out there? Just got faint, but definitely there, BFP.

Due 1st April, according to those dodgy due date calculators.

evs34 - i don't really know what to say apart from that I am thinking of you and hope everything goes well in 2 weeks - am crossing everything!

LittleMyDancingForJoy · 20/08/2008 11:10

Crossing my fingers for you evs, keep us posted!

If you start a separate thread about it I'm sure you'll find some MNetters who've had the same thing who can help with some info/experiences.

But don't leave us, we're all thinking of you!

Good luck

very fast moving so cant keep up but just wanted to say a couple of things.

sorry to hear of people dropping out - will keep my fingers crossed for you evs

stork - no chocolate not sure how i would cope with that.

agree with lots of you, that when the symptoms actually kick in, it will all feel more real. Had pretty bad ms with ds so expecting similar but nothing so far - but very early days.

rachelinscotland - which part of scotland are you in? (If you dont mind me asking). would love to know a bit more about tandem feeding, but should maybe ask on the bf thread. just wondered how you get colostrum when the baby is born, if you are also feeding an older baby?

littlelady123 · 20/08/2008 11:31

has anyone else experienced odd little bleeds? i had the tiniest amount 2 weeks ago and last nite there was another teaspoon full. ( sorry if too much info )! i mite be being paranoid, but after 2 m/cs i am so edgy. i had stretchy sort of pains for 2 days, not really much today, but no pain to shout about yet. am i just being silly? ?

EsmeWeatherwax · 20/08/2008 11:47

Morning everyone.

Sorry to hear your news Jen, good luck for future attempts.

Evs34, really hoping everything will be ok for you in 2 weeks, fingers crossed anyway.

Welcome to all the newbies, ha ha, I speak as an old hand of Monday afternoon!

I can't believe I feel this minging at 4 weeks. I'm so tired, and so nauseous. Luckily I'm at work and can relax a bit, my job not being the most taxing, am dreading tomorrow with just me and dd for the whole day! Although might get a wee bit of a lie in as dh has a dentists appointment.

I'm in west Scotland, btw, or should I say byraway in a tiny wee village no-one's ever heard of, although I work in Glasgow 3 days a week...

hopeful1 · 20/08/2008 11:50

Hi,

Can I ask a silly, personal question especially to those experienced mums.
When I got pregnant I had loads of cervical secretions, which have me in the toilet checking every five minutes. Today is the first day I dont seem to be getting them....do they slow down or are they supposed to be quite consistent throughout pregnancy? Books dont tell you these things. Had scan yesterday and all okay. I am 6+4 today and constantly live in fear!!

aprilitisthen · 20/08/2008 12:14

hopeful - i know its easy to say, but i would try and relax if I was you. If you had a scan and its looking fine, thats obviously a very good sign.

My philosophy on life is that if you can do something about it, its worth worrying about, but if you can't, you should try not to waste time worrying, as there is nothing you can do anyway. Sadly, a lot of postive pg results do end up in mc in the early weeks, but apart from the obvious things to avoid, there really isnt anything you can do to stop it happening if its going to.

I will get off my soap box now sorry if that was a bit preachy.

To be honest, I cant remember that side of things from ds - and he's only 12 months, but I think things do change in that department as it goes along. Dont think its a constant.

aprilitisthen · 20/08/2008 12:17

just read your earlier post hopeful about being tired and off meat etc - that all sounds great (in a good pg way) as well.

I remember last time, one of the first proper signs that I was pg - apart from a + test, was my sense of smell getting really really strong. I couldnt be in the same room when the fridge was open (and there was nothing particularyl bad in there) and I didnt want to kiss dh if he'd drunk coffee as I absolutely hated the smell.

SalBySea · 20/08/2008 12:34

hopeful1 - I have NONE, its becoming a bit of a pain - literally

StorkExpectedInApril · 20/08/2008 13:09

evs - hope the next two weeks pass by really quickly for you and that the scan at the end will be worth the wait.

littlelady123 - no bleeding. I have never even had implantation bleeding that I keep reading about! I had a friend who had red blood bleeding in the early stages of her pregnancy but both she and her baby were fine. I guess if it gets any worse, then you could speak to your midwife - trust your instincts.

Hope everyone else is OK. My sugar puffs craving has abated and apart from not wanting chocolate, my diet is still pretty much the same as usual. I started taking SpaTone a month ago (in preparation) plus a daily multi-vit and I think the additional iron is definitely helping me keep awake. I became anaemic with my dd (2nd pregnancy) so wanted to avoid being that exhausted again.

StorkExpectedInApril · 20/08/2008 13:11

hopeful1 - just the usual, nothing out of the ordinary.

foxymagoo · 20/08/2008 13:21

Aprilitishten - that's a very interesting question re: colostrum with newborn if your still feeding an older baby... I can't wait to bf again as its such a lovely bonding snuggly time....

I'm sipping a lemon and ginger tea at my desk which is very nice.

Found myself subconsiously holding my tummy when speaking to a colleague earlier - need to stop doing that!

Hmm, what to eat now...

LittleMyDancingForJoy · 20/08/2008 13:27

hopeful1 - some damp days and some not so damp days

OP posts:
aprilitisthen · 20/08/2008 13:38

salbysea - lol - was trying to think earlier of how to put that but every way i thought of was a bit tmi when we've only just been introduced so I'm glad you came up with a way.

foxy - the whole thing fascinates me - I hope to have moved ds from bf to cows milk before April, but so far he's been allergic to formula - the vomit bubbles up out of his mouth like there's no tomorrow, and so far doesnt seem keen on cows milk, but am trying to introduce it slowly.

OddEyes · 20/08/2008 13:46

hopeful - i've had lots of clear mucus on wiping but not on knickers(tmi - sorry but hope helpful!) from the start, some days less than others. Found lots of different articles on web saying is normal: 'You may also find that, during pregnancy, because of the increase in the hormone progesterone you produce much more cervical mucus. If this is not your first pregnancy you may find that you have heavier discharge during the first few days of pregnancy which then tapers off and is much like post ovulation discharge.' Mine isn't tapering off yet though!

OddEyes · 20/08/2008 13:48

sorry i just went for tmi!

aprilitisthen · 20/08/2008 13:52

good on you oddeyes.

i am slowly starting to get excited about this pg - not that i wasnt before but i'd been having quite a lot of crampy pains so wasnt sure if it felt right, and also the bfp was a bit of a surprise anyway, but coming on here has made me get more and more excited about it.

am even sitting munching some omega3 seed mixture in an attempt to be doing something healthy.

missed a week of folic acid (as was away from home and we werent really ttc anyway) so felt really guilty about it at first, but then was thinking there must be thousands of people who do that cause they are not deliberately ttc every month, and problems with the babies are very rare, so i'm going to stop worrying (and take a bit of my earlier advice).

OddEyes · 20/08/2008 14:27

Jen - so sorry for your loss to lose you off the thread. Take care. Do come back and tell us your news.
Evs - so sorry for your worry, waiting is the worst. Take care of yourself.

OddEyes · 20/08/2008 14:28

Selfishly glad to hear other people bursting out of their jeans too. Unfortunatly my maternity jeans don't fit - much slimmer in the old days . Was wondering whether I should risk it before the scan and buy some, just feeling even worse cause have nothing to comfortable to wear. Also going to Bluewater tomorrow so Gap Maternity and Blooming Marvellous right there! Arhh my pregnant brain can't cope with these little dilemmas!

Thank you for all your replies...got to try and relax a little!! I am going to blame it on the hormones!! I e=want to go to bed

LittleMyDancingForJoy · 20/08/2008 15:24

oh god hopeful1, so do I! More than anything!

V1KK1M · 20/08/2008 16:04

Evs-I had a blighten Ovum before my DD and I got to 12 weeks before they realised that only the sac had grown.

On the positive side my best friend had an early scan and only revealed the sac and when she had a rescan she had got her dates wrong and baby was growning well.

As a result of my mmc, I take a pregnancy test every fourth day as I was informed that a symptom on the blighted ovum was that you wuld only ever get a faint line on a pregnancy test (I brought a load of the cheap ones of the internet).

Hope this helps and my thoughts are with you!

BabyBolat · 20/08/2008 16:14

I'm with you hopeful & LMDFJ - I just fell asleep at work and a colleague had to wake me up! I am just waiting for that point when I start blooming rather than my current blobbing around!

aprilitisthen · 20/08/2008 16:38

cant see you on the list babybolat - when are you due? I seem to remember last time thinking that at 12 weeks, miraculously the ms (or all day sickness to be more accurate) would clear up, and everything would be rosy, but unfortunately it was closer to 18 before it did - not to scare any first timers - everyones different. I know quite a few people who didnt have any ms at all lucky things.

BabyBolat · 20/08/2008 17:05

5th April. Oh please don't say that (as a first timer I am very scared!) The 12 week mark is the only thing getting me (and my husband) through it! My mum had m/s all the way through and I am dreading that I will inherit that from her!
