Anyone else out there? Just got faint, but definitely there, BFP.

Due 1st April, according to those dodgy due date calculators.

Hello all Like those stats Gemzooks feel a bit better now. I stupidly read a whole thread on chemical pregnancys yesterday and started to panic, I was convinced that it was going to happen to me. So I did another test and its still positive.

We have already told a few people only because they knew we were having fertility treatment and asked how we were getting on. I just couldn't lie to them. DH decided last night that we should tell ds who is 6.5. He took the news really well then asked me if I had done that funny thing with dads willy !!!!!!! Really uncomfortable moment. I had forgotten about all the information on birds and bees some helpful older child had given him in the playground

I don't think i would be able to wait until 12 weeks as i already feel fat

jollyjolly · 13/08/2008 15:02

hi ladies, can i join you, i'm very reluctant to jinx this pregnancy and join a thread, but its nice to talk to people who are going through the same things as me.

I am 6 weeks PG, due 6th April my calculations, could all change after a scan i'm sure.
Got 2 ds's ds1 2yrs and ds2 10 months

this is my 5th pregnancy, 2 previous miscarriages hence the reluctancy i am so worried about getting excited about this pregnancy, but found MN a huge support hrough my losses.

Fingers crossed for us all.

cann't believe this thread has over 300 posts already.

so is everyone feeling awful? i feel very nauseous some of the time and exhausted.

diddle · 13/08/2008 15:06

jenjam? i know you don't I from a previous antenatal thread

hopeful1 · 13/08/2008 16:18

Hey,

I am soooooo nervous all the time. I am 5wks5ds. Yesterday I nearly fainted on the train as got over heated and no seats felt really sick all day and couldnt eat anything. Today I feel fine apart from tiredness. My boobs on the side are really sore but not the nipple area (sorry too much info. Today just feel a little tired. Stomach pains all but gone but CM still going strong. Is it normal to feel nothing one day and a bit dodgy the next. Ist pregnancy and all new to me. Read this morning that from 6-8 weeks is the most common time to miscarry. Got a scan next tuesday but might book private scan for two weeks later just in case....arghhh I am such a nervous wreck!!

Gemzooks · 13/08/2008 19:33

hi hopeful,

Everything you're describing sounds totally normal and exactly like me with my first preg. Some days you don't feel anything and question whether everything is ok. I know it's hard, but just try to look after yourself and give yourself plenty of rest!! second time around, unfortunately, there's so much less time to do that!

Clairedaz · 13/08/2008 19:51

Does anyone know the earliest date you can have a scan to check the heartbeat?

diddle · 13/08/2008 19:54

clairedaz, i think its around 6 weeks, i've had one this early and you can see the heartbeat then, according to my trusty pregnancy bible the heart only starts beating between 5 and 6 weeks anyway.

Clairedaz · 13/08/2008 19:59

Thanks diddle, I' 5wks 6ds have had 2 mmc before so am quite anxious this time round.

Gemzooks · 13/08/2008 20:02

clairedaz, I do sympathise, also had 2 m/c last winter. Had a scan on Mon at 7.3 weeks and saw heartbeat. I would recommend you hold on till 7-8 weeks because otherwise the risk is that the baby is fine but it's just too early to see the heartbeat and then you're sent away feeling even more worried.. hope you get the scan you want!

OddEyes · 13/08/2008 20:10

Evening all! Nice to have somewhere to come and gibber. Dh at work and Ds in bed.

My tummy is huge all gas - I can't close my trousers and causing other more embarrassing problems too!

Gemzooks - really reasurring stats - thanks. 6 weeks tomorrow . Coming home from mad day out at the Tower with nephews thinking it was all over casue I had over exerted myself but nothing yet apart from 1 big twinge.

Jumbs - i went over 40 too and had a 10lb 4. they said they wouldn't let me go to term next time as subsequent babies are often bigger . Anyone say anything like this to you?

Dungungirl - really liked the book will hopefully purchase once wehave had the scan

mrsfossil - your account of telling your ds made me lol

hopeful - think we all feeling the same anxiety, hard not too, finding that am not being helped by surging hormones either!

Hope everyones dp are taking care of them. Dh now at home (taken me ages to catch up - almost an hour!) and cooking dinner

Sorry for my gibber! Have a restful evening all!

salstars · 13/08/2008 20:30

Evening all - do you mind if I share my woes?

Well, today actually I'm feeling great. Like hopeful1 I've got sore boobs around the edge.

Yesterday, though, I was at an all-time low. Feeling really hormonal & emotional and suffered all day with gripey pains down below. I finally took some paracetmol in the evening and it really helped. Luckily I was working from home because if I'd been at work, I don't think I would have coped.

Good news - of sorts - today is the same day that last time I had a m/c, so at least I've made it one more day this time!

Still waiting for nausea to kick in, but no sign and still able to eat anything - sorry, just that sound smug?

diddle · 13/08/2008 21:10

salstars, congrats on making it past your milestone of your miscarriage, mine is coming up in the next few days and it will be a semi relief once its past.

To be honest i'm not going to be totally happy until my little baby is in my arms.

mathsmummy27 · 13/08/2008 21:19

Hello all, hope everyone is feeling ok this evening. Have been telling more people today - I love it
Tummy enormous. Seriously, I''m sure it has nothing to do with the three helpings of toad-in-the-hole I had earlier...

Fingers crossed for all of us that ours are keepers In the meantime let's take all the chances we can can get to put our feet up

I'm going to tell work at 10 weeks, if I was working now or looking at projects next year I think I would tell straight away. Of course it tends to be a dead giveaway when a) enormous tummy b) falling asleep at desk and c) no ten cups of tea a day (but several more biscuits...)

JenJam · 13/08/2008 23:23

hey diddle diddle, yes I know you from november 05! how are you?>! small world. I am well. more impatient this time and more worried. went to doctor this morning to announce my pregnancy and she was underwhelmed. Told her about the diahorrea i've been experiencing (sorry if TMI) thankfully she thinks no problem for pregnancy but has asked for sample if it continues

While talking to the doctor my 2 year old kept sticking his face in mine, trying to squeeze my nipple (yes he does that alot) and talking over me repeating 'you are very naughty boy mummy' (seriously i've said that once to him when he ran into the road!!!!) and now i am paying for it ...

anyway must go to bed earlier. i've been having afternoon naps and am now a nursery style time table!

Good luck everyone

JenJam · 13/08/2008 23:27

Diddle i also meant to say CONGRATULATIONS looks as though you have been very busy since we last spoke in April 2005!!

evs34 · 14/08/2008 08:22

fingers crossed for you salstars. i also am eating like a horse and no sickness yet. i am waiting for it to come crashing down on my head. does make me worry a little that perhaps all is not as it should be but then we could just be lucky - has to happen to someone!
have a good day everyone. feel like napping already. x

TicTac · 14/08/2008 08:29

Morning all, wow thislist grows every day!

Went to the Gp the other day and she says I am due on April 7th!

Have had the odd spotting but all is still well. Did another PG test last night and eithing seconds there was a very strong line so I am not worrying just yet.

I figure all the time I am exhausted and feel sick must mean everything is ok

Glad to see lots of well mummies in here!

Jumbs · 14/08/2008 08:37

Hi all, feeling rough rough rough today. Went to bed at 9.30 last night, it was that or be sick.

Its so funny reading the posts, we worry if we don't feel sick but hate it when we do. You truly can't win!

oddeyes I haven't seen m/w yet so no-ones mentioned not going to term. They will force me to have gestational diabetes check due to baby size last time, and for no other reason. I think I will get growth scan towards the end and decide from there. So, does that mean C-section for you? I can request one if I want due to difficulties last time but I don't really know at the mo.

LittleMyDancingForJoy · 14/08/2008 09:35

Morning all, hope all the sickness is starting to pass or at least is vaguely bearable! I'm feeling good today because the sun is shining at last and my arm scan yesterday showed nothing to worry about.

Now dealing with our useless midwives - our consultant asked us if we could have our booking appointment before we see him (at 9 weeks) so that my notes have been started. Phoned midwives and they said 'oh, we don't see you until about 10 weeks or so' so I explained that the consultant had asked for this. They said 'well we don't normally see you until about 10 weeks or so'.....ok, so I gave up on that one.

Then they say 'can you fill in this form before you come, you need to come and pick it up from the clinic and then drop it off before your appointment' - so they can't see me before 10 weeks but I have to make two trips to their clinic before that and they can't post the form, apparently, too tricky.

So then I say can't they just call up my records (two pregnancies before this one, same midwives, same hospital) and I'll tell them any bits that have changed at my booking appointment (the only thing that could possibly have changed on that form is if this baby had a different father) and they say 'oh no, we can't do that, you have to fill it in afresh each time'

aaaaaaarrrrrrrrggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh

Well ladies have I got an update and a half (literally!) for you...
Had a very early scan last night to rule out ectopic pg. Saw what looked like a little slug and there, flicker-flicker-flicker, was a heartbeat! An amazing moment.
Then the Dr says hang on, there's another one. Yes - blob number two! I started laughing so hard he couldn't see anything for a while and DH was speechless. No heartbeat detected on that one so it's 50/50, could be that it's just too early to say (he said at 5+5 it was pretty remarkable we'd seen anything on the first one) OR it could be that my body was trying to make a second one but didn't quite make it. I'm going back in a fortnight to see what's going on with that one. Either way I am totally ecstatic, seeing that heartbeat has made me feel a lot more relaxed so now despite feeling rather awful I'm going to just enjoy it. Will update you in 2 weeks, sorry for long post just so excited and not told anyone else yet so have to get it all off my chest to you lot and DH!

evs34 · 14/08/2008 09:44

you should try working with them!! i think maybe they are a different breed of female. x
