Anyone else out there? Just got faint, but definitely there, BFP.

Due 1st April, according to those dodgy due date calculators.

Kalikaroo remember that although bleeding can lead to mc in almost all cases it doesn't..

Salstars I craved salty food with ds and he was a boy! during the height of my ms the only thing I could eat was salty chips from McDonald's (the shame. Haven't been there since...

April2009Baby I read what to expect in the first year but not when your expecting. Found it OK but its American and all their talk of diapers and day care put me off a bit.

Just finished two rolls with smoked salmon and cream cheese - not sure if they are going to stay down - Can we hijack the envy face for feeling sick?!

salstars · 11/08/2008 13:04

Dungungirl

I've had a bit of backache first thing in the morning too. Like you say, it goes off as soon as I get up.

I've also been really cold which is unusual for me as I'm usually too hot!

mrsfossil Thanks for your good wishes - hope all goes well for you too.

BinkyB · 11/08/2008 13:09

Me three! April tenth i think according to an online calculator. Am lurching from huge excitement to complete conviction that something will go wrong. I expect others do that too! No symptoms other than sore boobs and I could sleep standing up...

BinkyB · 11/08/2008 13:11

Oh Salstars - am v cold too, had put it down to great British summer this week but actually DH kept telling me it was hot. Weird!

ruddynorah · 11/08/2008 13:21

wow so many of us! not sure i'll be able to keep up with all this.

anyway, sickness has kicked in for me now. i constant motion sickness sort of thing, same as i had with dd.

i told dd about the baby growing in mummy's tummy (she's 2) and we got some more new baby books from the library. dh said it was so cute she was telling him all about the baby growing and how we all have to be careful and no bouncing on mummy's tummy

Clairedaz · 11/08/2008 13:21

Hi salstars -you found the thread

I won't allow myself to read any books.

Still am in 2 minds about registering with the doctors yet.

I'm sure be okay Kalikaroo - thinking of you.

Feelings: still a bit nauseaous and tired.

evs34 · 11/08/2008 13:57

feel so tired that i feel like crying. would love to stop working now!!
understand the worry, i too keep checking my underwear for blood! think im going crazy xx

glaskham · 11/08/2008 15:24

I think i just got a BFP- see pic on profile and let me know what you all think!!

If it is a BFP i'll be due around 22nd april 09.

I have 2 DC's already, DS is 3y 8mths, DD is 2y 4mths.....

Still dont know wether to believe it... Had a spotting of pink yesterday evening and a spotting of blood this afternoon though... Will keep an eye on things though. AF was due today.

cikecaka · 11/08/2008 15:37

Looks like a positive test to me glaskham. Fingers crossed all will be ok!

glaskham · 11/08/2008 15:39

thanks cikecaka.... i'm a bit nervous about coming on here so soon!!

This is our first time 'trying' for a baby, the other 2 we're, ahem, how shall i say, surprises!! This was our 3rd month of ttc!! I did feel very positive about this month!! And i do 'feel' pregnant!!

cikecaka · 11/08/2008 16:04

Know how you feel, our first 3 were lovely surprises, but after a break of nearly 8 yrs, we decided to go again. Went from him only having to take his socks off and i would be pregnant to having to wait nearly 6 months to concieve our DD who is now nearly 18 mths was tough.

DungunGirl · 11/08/2008 16:06

salstars

It is weird isn't it all these niggly things!
I have also gone off tea. Did you say you had too?

hopeful1 · 11/08/2008 16:30

Hi there,

I am 5weeks3 days and due april 10th 08. Sooooooooooooooooo scared about this pregnancy as was IUI. Never had a miscarriage before but panicking anyway!!!!!! Feeling tired, bloated, metallic taste and sore boobs. Got scan next tuesday!!

OneBoyOneGirl · 11/08/2008 16:45

glaskham - thats just what my first test looked like, i'd say its positive for sure.

Congratulations to all new BFP's

Nice to see so many!

mathsmummy27 · 11/08/2008 17:24

Hello all
Welcome to the sicky club.. I now hate tea, coffee (good) and the smell of chicken cooking. And I can't get enough of broccoli and asparagus.
How is such little creature hijacking me already! Isn't it amazing! I am so excited.
how's eveyone else doing today?

glaskham · 11/08/2008 17:40

well i'm thinking i'll be staying here now!! no-one has said anything other than its a BFP!!! and AF still hasn't shown herself and is normally here first thing on due day!!

Oh i'm getting very exited now, i'm actually on an ante-natal thread!!!

ScrumptiousBumptious · 11/08/2008 18:08

Hi everyone, and my usual congrats and welcomes to the newbies. There are so many of us! It's so exciting!

Glaskham - that definitely looks like a BFP to me! You must be thrilled! If you're anything like me though you'll be POAS for the next week just to confirm. In fact (I am a little ashamed to admit this) I asked DH to go and get me a test yesterday as I hadn't done one for a week and was starting to doubt it all! Well he came back with 4 so he must think I'm making it up too! Anyway - They are lovely strong BFP. I'll save the last 2 for the scan day at 12 weeks as no doubt will have another (completely irrational I know I know) panic that there's no baby in there!

Really feeling for all you ladies who have had miscarriages in the past. it must be so hard to feel truly truly excited and relaxed. I feel very much like anything could still go wrong as it's such early days, so can only imagine that feeling amplified. Best of luck to you all for happy and healthy pregnancies.

My DH bought me A week by week guide to pregnancy, by Lesley Regan. Does anyone else have this? I borrowed it from a friend for my last pregnancy and loved it, so now am thrilled to own my own copy. Have read bits of it over and over now though. I just love to know what exactly is happening in there!

I haven't gone off any food yet (unfortunately - hoping for a severe aversion to cake and chocolate to occur!) Feeling rather nauseaus most days though, with mild lower back ache thrown in. Nothing to bad though.

Another ridiculously long post from me!

soundbites · 11/08/2008 18:23

Hello everyone ? just dropping in for a quick chat. I have really felt the sicky feeling setting in today (surprised, was sure it was around 7 weeks last time and then fret that it is all in the mind!), and I saw all my NCT friends today and had to be really careful about hiding it. Just had a chat with DH who says maybe I should just tell everyone. Feeling a bit achey in my back and the bits nearest my hips at the front, but relieved to see that others of you have it too. Reading posts of mc on this thread makes me very conscious not to take it all for granted.

Talk soon!

glaskham · 11/08/2008 18:27

thanks scrumptious!! I have 5 tests due to arrive in the post any day now!! And I know i'll be testing to check!!

I have felt very tired in the afternoons recently, and thought it was just AF symptoms..... I'll be 4 weeks today!! how odd, i only tested 2 days ago and got my first very faint positive, but honestly didn't believe it till the one today!!

Gemzooks · 11/08/2008 20:03

hi all,

Welcome to newbies!

Well I had the scan (am 7 and a half weeks) and saw heartbeat, little worm like thing measuring 1 cm! So really relieved, but feel a bit weird now as it's more real! Might tell parents when we go to the UK this coming weekend.

Kalikaroo, I would worry about bleeding only if there is period-like cramping, just based on my experience of m/cs and preg. but only time will tell. I sometimes think it's just your body popping a blood vessel or clearing out some old stuff!

Anyone thought about names yet? DS has unusual name and hard to follow...

Cosmogirl · 11/08/2008 20:08

Kal - sorry to hear about the spotting but sure everything will be fine. Good idea to get checked out.

Glask - welcome and congrats again!

Gem - we are quite keen on the name April for a girl! Congrats on your scan and seeing little one.

I am still feeling very sick and might tell my boss this week to see if I can work from home now and again....Don't really want to tell but it is getting difficult to disguise how crap I am feeling now.

ToastnHoney · 11/08/2008 20:59

Hello all.

I was most disappointed earlier this evening - went for a massage, I'd been looking forward to it for ages, only to be sent away by the masseur saying she wouldn't massage someone in the first 12 wks of pregnancy as apparently it can cause mc! I had absolutely no idea, was really embarrassed not to mention gutted to go home massage-less. Good thing I mentioned it I guess, I almost didn't as not telling anyone at the moment.

I've got the gripe-y pains too. Trying to ignore them but it's difficult not to worry that something will go wrong isn't it. Must be so great finally seeing the baby on the scan Gemzooks!

Foxy - can I still eat smoked salmon??? If so that's brilliant news. A pg friend told me she wasn't eating it so I assumed we weren't allowed to?

foxymagoo · 11/08/2008 21:11

oh ToastnHoney you had to mention smoked salmon Its been repeating on me all day and I can't shake the 'fish' smell - bleugh.

I though it was only shellfish/pate/unpasturised cheese/raw eggs you had to avoid? Saying that the thought of smoked salmon

I'm also going off chocolate and

Gemzooks - great to hear scan went OK!

I'm feeling decidedly ropey so off to bed with unread Sunday papers from yesterday..
