i am just pricing the quinny buzz4, i cant decide between that and the icandy apple.

the good thing about the icandy one is it converts to a double (called a pear) if i go on to have another baby which hopefully would make it a bit easier as i see all the problems you ladies with 2 DC have deciding on double buggies!

suiledonn · 15/07/2008 18:46

Love the new thread title. I have been through several bottles of Gaviscon already. I lived on it when expecting dd too and the funniest thing happened when she was being born. Just as she was being delivered a midwife smashed a huge bottle of Gaviscon across the room so dd's arrival was accompanied by a familar smell. lol

I think I am going to wait and see in relation to the double buggy. DD will be 2 and a half when new baby arrives and as it will be November I doubt if we will be out all that much to begin with. I love the look of the little rucksack - I might get one of those for dd.

evening all, cant believe i logged on earlier after being away, come back in the evening and we're on new thread already. pinkali, i have loads of books including guess how much i love you but i cant read it without crying. it proper chokes me. i've tried to upload photo of the bump but it crashes, also have hideous picture of me in the wheelchair in paignton. hideous hideous. i'll keep trying to resize and upload.

sparkletoes · 15/07/2008 18:59

Chocolategal, I got a Quinny Buzz for DS. Did a quick review of it earlier on one of these threads but would be lucky to find it now!! If I could buy it now would def get the Buzz 4 as it was the single front wheel that drove me nuts! A friend of mine has the icandy one and seems to like it.. certainly having the future double option is good!

Ceebs - will be thinking of you tomorrow, hope it all goes well xx

teafortwo · 15/07/2008 19:13

Hello ladies - just tiptoed in to say I love love love your thread name - reminds me of when I was pregnant with my dd.

There is a scene in the film of "Under the Volcano" when the main alcoholic character is desperately looking for his booze that he had hidden in the garden. His neighbour pops his head over the fence to see what all the noise is and the alcoholic to cover up what he is really doing starts shouting "Vermin, vermin, vermin!!!"

It was a running joke between dp and I that everytime I started fiddling around in my bag, bedroom drawer, kitchen cupboard and any other one of my many gaviscon hiding places we would shout "Vermin, vermin, vermin"!!!!!!

Mmmm.... enjoy you gavi-shots, you pregnant mners!!!

Now t42 sneaks away smiling to herself at fond memories!!!!

my gaviscon is original aniseed. cant stand the mint one. bleeeugh

Oblomov · 15/07/2008 19:43

Nice title.
Please don't mention tummy buttons popping out - it makes me want to vomit.
I was measured at Bravissimo today.

I have gone from 32E to a 32G. 'G', I said, yes, G for Gi-normous. Not good.
Underwired is fine for pregnancy. The only trouble is possible damage to the milk ducts, and that is only if people continue to wear the same bra as before, plus it is very rare. She assures me:
Wires for pregnant big norks is fine
Plus she said the majority of growth is in the first four months. I will not be needing another fitting until 2 weeks prior to birth, to fit me for nursing bras.

bubbaz · 15/07/2008 19:49

Nice to see you T42. Ceebee good luck for tomorrow hope it all goes well.
I have just had the nicest evening first of all the pharmacist dropped of my Hydrocalcite (like gaviscon but nicer IMO) and then I was trying a dress on for a wedding in Aug I came downstairs and DS said oh look daddy mammy is a princess - awww.

bubbaz · 15/07/2008 19:50

And Oblomov has just topped it all off by saying my norks (also G for Gi-normous) will prob not grow anymore till bubs comes - Thanks Oblomov

ceebee74 · 15/07/2008 19:54

Bubbaz - how sweet of your DS (and am v of his vocab btw!).

I can't believe how different I feel about tomorrow's scan compared to Friday - am dreading it tbh but trying to think positive and what will be will be.

T42 - your story has cheered me up - thanks for sharing it

x

Oblomov · 15/07/2008 19:56

No prob, Bubbaz. Glad to make you feel better/ lift your spirits norks

PInkyminkyohnooo · 15/07/2008 20:03

ceebe good luck for tomorrow.

Oblomov · 15/07/2008 20:03

Good luck ceebee.

sparkletoes · 15/07/2008 20:04

LOL at the word Norks! Love it! Thanks to the stork we all got bigger Norks! - immaturity is nothing to be ashamed of IMO!

"G'wan the underwires!" (said in a broad Scots accent)

Oblomov · 15/07/2008 20:05

Hana, who said negative comments about our thread titles ?
I will bop them over the head. The cheek of it.

PInkyminkyohnooo · 15/07/2008 20:08

oh lordy lordy I never said you can't wear underwires- you just have to make sure thryy fit right!

The maternity ones are softer and wider and the tips are flexible. They should basically go around the breast generously and not pinch at all.

Oblomov · 15/07/2008 20:08

Yes, Oblomov has the bit, between her teeth.
Please be very careful what you say about underwires not being suitable. Because that is FACTUALLY INCORRECT
and makes me very cross.
People must not state that, as if it is a fact.
They are fine, so long as the are fitted correctly.
As in fact every woman should be anyway.
Sorry, rant over.

PInkyminkyohnooo · 15/07/2008 20:16

be fair, oblomov, that is exactly what I said. I did my ressearch before I posted.

Oblomov · 15/07/2008 20:26

Quote by pinkyminky :
"Underwire- not not a good idea. Breast tissue is changing and underwire not good for you. "
Quote by Mummyhill:
"You should be wearing properly fitting bras which offer max support without being underwired especially if you want to breast feed. Apparently underwire bras can cause damage to breast tissue"

I am sorry, but I feel that those imply that underwires is not good.
And that is factually incorrect.

Oblomov · 15/07/2008 20:29

Pinkyminky:
"I wouldn't advise it, Oblomov. "
Mummyhill:
Seriously you need to get bras without wires during pregnancy because as the breast tissue changes and the wires press against the milk ducts studies have show a higher risk of breast cancer.

O.k. I am sorry if people think I am over reacting here, but mention damage to milk ducts and CANCER.
And I think that gives people the impression that it is not o.k.

LackaDAISYcal · 15/07/2008 20:57

just though you all might like to know...

La Redoute are doing a today only offer.....60% off and fourth item free. Enter code 1294 on checkout.

and fwiw...I am wearing underwired bras . The advice about underwired bras has changed afaik (according to Bravissimo) and as pinky and oblomov have said; they are OK as long as fitted properly. Also, on my peer supporter training they said a badly fitted soft bra can cause as many difficulties with feeding as a badly fitted underwired one. Never heard about them causing cancer though
