Gina80 · 05/08/2008 21:03

Yup that sounds like mine. Starts in lower back - only on my right and shoots into bum cheek and down top bit of leg. I Walk like an old woman for about an hour after! Wish mine would go after a kneading tho - I hit the roof when DH tries to massage it!

Gina80 · 05/08/2008 21:05

Sorry I meant the sciatica. My SPD started like a nasty ache at the front in my erm... foof bone

chilledmama · 05/08/2008 22:46

what's LMAO...clearly showing my lack of MN skills

TinkerBellesMum · 05/08/2008 22:51

Laugh My A$$ Off

There's a link at the top with acronyms, have a look.

PinkTulips · 05/08/2008 23:28

my god..... you lot are up late

this thread normally goes dead at night...... sadly i'm usually lurking about somewhere though

am feeling all emotional after watching private practice and grey's anatomy back to back...... not a good combo for a hormonal pregnant lady

MarkStretch · 06/08/2008 07:50

I MISS DD!

My house was all quiet and tidy this morning.

I feel like getting all her craft stuff out and spreading it about.

DH went to work at 6 am so I was very lonely this morning.

I am feeling bad for next door, their lo was screaming for half the night and is still screaming now. There is shouting and door slamming and I think they are getting to the end of their tether.

chilledmama · 06/08/2008 08:54

couldn't find LMAO on the list...it could do with a bit of an update.

Poor neighbours...tired people usually make poor decisions and say (half true) insults leading to much door slamming. Hope their LO feels better soon.

dinkystinky · 06/08/2008 09:08

Make sure you enjoy the lie-ins Markstretch while the house is all nice and peaceful - probably wont get those for a while after no 2 arrives....

Am finding it really difficult to get comfortable in bed at nights and was thinking about getting one of those huge pregnancy pillow things (Start off sleeping on my left side, end up on my back or right side, wake up, remember should be sleeping on left side, ad infinitum). Have any of you guys used them and would you recommend them?

TinkerBellesMum · 06/08/2008 09:27

Dinky, I use a rolled up single quilt. My physio showed us how to use pillows - between the knees, under the bump and between the feet.

chilledmama · 06/08/2008 10:26

i used lots of pillows last time but did invest in a memory foam mattress topper (eventually). I wish a had bought it earlier because it was wonderful!!!

Singingintherain · 06/08/2008 12:32

Everything is moving on here. Things seem tol be stretching to make room so are feeling it even more when I stand. Loads of ironing to do before holidays. I am taking most of it to iron at my mums before we go.

Just decided to by a heart monitor, to hopefully help stop me from worrying so much. I think I am obsessed with the thought of having another MC, although my Doctor says everything looks ok. I have been looking arounbd the internet, but are really confused. I want the best affordable one as it is going to be bought for me.

I managed to get an accross the bed pillow. A double pillow joined in the middle. It is very firm and I just love it. It is also helping my bif toe too. The are really common here to buy and most bed sets are only suitalbe for this pillow anyway. I got mine from a cheap supermarket for 10 euros. I have seen one in the toy shop in town and they have one that converts into a feeding pillow and has a harness for putting baby on later. I found that if you can not find a pillow (as in my first pregnancy) DH made a good substitute.

oh please don't talk about comfy mattresses. due to moving to an unfurnished house last year from a furnished flat we're sleeping on a bed my parents gave use. the bed is rusty metal and squeks if you so much as breathe and the mattress is 30 years old, about 2 inces thick and soooo lumpy.

i wake up more tired than i go to bed!

i stayed up til 2am last night trying to place a nappy order as the stupid site wouldn't save my basket and was really slow to load each page and the arses have just sent me an email saying they can't ship some of the stuff to ireland! grrrrr! last time i ordered from this site they emailed me a week later to say what i wanted was out of stock despite it being listed as in stock on the page don't order from Kittykins girls if you're planning on using real nappies.... pain in the fucking arse!

on the plus side i get to shop all over again now

markstretch, don't pine too much, enjoy the quiet, you might never have a child free house again for more than a few hours after february!

chilledmama · 06/08/2008 12:53

PinkTulips - What nappies are you planning to use??

PinkTulips · 06/08/2008 13:20

lol.... am already a nappy addict so a variety to satisfy my nappy lusts

dd and ds have both used them.

i used prefolds with dd and they worked fine but they didn't work with ds's chunky bum so i got a variety of BTP ones for him when he was about 6 months. i didn't have very many though as we were a bit broke so they got heavily used and we have very hard water so some of them are on their last legs, plus i'm craving lots of lovely fluffy small ones for baba

have got 10 sandys' as by all accounts they're fantastic and will be getting a variety of one or two each of lots of others, motherease airflow wraps and a couple of wool wraps for night.

Neeerly3 · 06/08/2008 13:31

hey all, been MIA, but just to let you know, just the one bean and now due 23rd Feb - same day as my boys were!

How is everyone?

nadssss · 06/08/2008 13:36

I had my scan too and my baby is v healthy -low chance of everything - and it is a little girl due on 14 Feb. Delighted.
Congrats to all the happy scan results!

PinkTulips · 06/08/2008 13:48

great news neerly and nadsss

Neeerly3 · 06/08/2008 13:50

nadssss - how do they tell the sex so early??!

nadssss · 06/08/2008 13:55

Well we went to Dr Gibb at The Birth Company in Harley Street and he said he could with 98% certainty say that it was a girl - and this was at 12 weeks!

PinkTulips · 06/08/2008 14:04

wow..... i thought girl was the one they got wrong more often though? guess he wouldn't say it unless he was that sure though, his reputation is on the line after all.

i think she could hvae told me last week at 13 weeks what mine was but i don't want to know.

nadssss · 06/08/2008 14:08

i know re. the girl thing - i am prepared for a boy surprise at 16 weeks! I guess he covered himself by saying he could only be 98% sure.

I HAD to find out as I can't bear surprises - but can definitely see the loveliness of waiting for the birth to find out.

Singingintherain · 06/08/2008 14:16

It is possible. I was told at 11 weeks that I am having a boy. It can be done this early but it is very rare due to mistakes. The earliest they can notmally tell is between 11 and 12 weeks with a 10% chance of getting it wrong (I read on internet). More people are told that they are having a boy incorrectly. I was suprised I was told as I did not even ask for them to tell me.

I am still opting for the safe option of buying neutral. I too like surprises.

OP posts:
Neeerly3 · 06/08/2008 14:48

singing, i wuld be dead mad if they had told me and i hadn't asked! We are not finding out at 20 weeks (I say we, DH will probably slip the sonographer a tenner to tell him in private!), and it will be the first thing i say before i lie down - WE DON'T WANT TO KNOW! (and put that tenner back, DH is not knowing either...)

Singingintherain · 06/08/2008 15:03

Neeerly3 - LOL

I never even thought of asking at this point.

I did want to know, but did not want to ask and probably never was going to ask as I love surprises and was not bothered either way anyway. I am not bothered about knowing, but I must admit it is better to say him rather than it etc. and it makes it feel more real. I did get upset at first as I did have my MC at 14 weeks last time and received a post mortem report which never stated the baby as being anything other than a he. I find myself thinking if he was a he or a she and that they would have known this, but never told me. I will never know.

Anyway, it has made picking a name much easier, as we always manage to settle on girl's names but never on a boys. I have made my mind up already what we will call him if he is a boy and have also chosen a girl's name just in case.

My relative found out with her first that she was having a boy and was upset then as she wanted a girl. She is now pregnant again and asked again what she was having, they have told her it is a boy. I am not sure how she feels this time.

I use EasyPeasy Bumbles BTP which are lovely with Motherease Wraps (especially the printed ones). I tried the Sandys (borrowed from a friend) but found they marked DSs skin around the leg...probably me doing them up too tight to prevent mess.

I started off with Kushie Ultras cause I wasn't brave enough to go for a 2 part system but realised that it would actually be easier to go for a nappy that worked

I now have lots of Kushies looking for a new home

I love real nappies...my DS looks so lovely in them I could bit his bum
