Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
laidbackinengland · 22/07/2008 20:32

Can you give the consultant's secretary a call and see if she can jiggle things along a bit ?

MarkStretch · 22/07/2008 20:33

I had a bump sticking out on the right hand side the other night and I poked it and it kind of moved postition. I told DH and he leapt out of bed pointing and shouting,

'Oh my god there is something in there isn't there!!'

I think it might be sinking in for him

TinkerBellesMum · 22/07/2008 20:33

It could be worse, my team only has a clinic every four weeks! Fortunately for me it coincides with the 4th week of my pregnancy, which is why I have a 12 week scan for example.

I'd call them again, make a nuisance of yourself

Gina80 · 22/07/2008 20:34

No reason Tinkerbellesmum (may I call you Tink like the others ) in fact they wouldn't test me as they said I had too long in between (1st was 8yrs ago) and I have had a healthy pg in between as well and...well...CP's just dont count apparantly!

Markstretch - They say after the 1st trimester but I take a pg supplement that contains Folic Iron all the way through. I use Sanatogen Pronatal which is for ttc/pg/b'feeding. I started ttc in 2004, am still bf DS and if I feed this DC as long then I shall be on it for 7 years! and that's if we stop after this one!!!

Blimey, is that safe??

MarkStretch · 22/07/2008 20:35

I rang the secretary last week and explained that I am a naturally very impatient person and the waiting was killing me and could she please tell me when it would be and would she let me know as soon as possible?

She just said 'Yes dear.'

Gina80 · 22/07/2008 20:52

Btw I have been meaning to ask. Has anyone any experience of SPD in 2nd pgncy? I had it from 25 wks last time and have started to get 'twinges' down there already. Is it possible to get it really early on?
I'm hoping it's just stretchy growing goings on instead as I dont think I could cope with it from the beginning

TinkerBellesMum · 22/07/2008 20:54

What is CP? I personally would be pushing for testing, look at the difference treatment makes to people with my condition! For there to be an 18% chance of having a good outcome, there has to be some people having some!

TinkerBellesMum · 22/07/2008 21:00

I had PGP (Pelvic Girdle Pain, new name for SPD as it covers pain in all the joints) start at the end of my pregnancy with Lily-Hope (literally whilst I was in labour) after a fall, then didn't get better afterwards so I started pregnancy with Tink with it, it got worse from there and I've suffered with my back since. One of my first signs was pain in my dimples.

My physio said that either you get it early on and it goes around Mid-T or you get it Mid-T and it carries on till the end. She actually said (I love her for this, everyone ignores your pain after 10 days) you don't just get better afterwards and things don't just go back to normal.

Does that help at all?

Gina80 · 22/07/2008 21:01

Chemical Pregnancy. I.e you get a +ive but then af shortly afterwards

TinkerBellesMum · 22/07/2008 21:03

Ah, I'm with you now. Sounds like you've been treated quite rough, you should have had more opportunity to be tested. With each loss the chance that you have something wrong with you (in the nicest possible sense ) goes up.

Gina80 · 22/07/2008 21:03

Yes! Thankyou! I think I could cope better with it in the beginning rather than towards the end and then in labour

rosieposey · 22/07/2008 21:43

Littlesarah am glad you were prepared for that - i really think its fine like Tink said old blood is almost always fine and its a good idea to get it checked out but i really think its nothing to be massively worried about ( i know, i know i would be too! ) Really was in two minds about getting a doppler in a few weeks as a friend of mine got one and used it all the time but was worried sick when her lo played tricks on her and moved and i know it would end up costing me a fortune in private reasurrence scans every other week!

I thought your notes stayed at the hospital that you had your baby at last - i asked if they would have my notes from my previous birth at Reading and i was told ( in Surrey ) that they stay at that hospital so not sure.

Ha Ha pinktulip thats what i mean, im forever being told im much more fun (and stay up much later) when im squiffy but i cant help it i just cant really get much passed 11 o clock on a night out at the moment.

Ive just got back from the cinema where i went to see Walle with the girls and DP, needless to say the wicked hormones had me snivelling and at the end i had to say i wanted to see if it really was Peter Gabriel who was singing the song when really and truly i couldnt have given a fiddlers f*rt i just knew 'ma famille' would have laughed mercilessly at e for crying at yet another pixar film so wanted to give the red eyes a second to get back to normality.

MarkStretch · 23/07/2008 08:42

Morning all.

I feel ridiculously excited about the fact DD is now on school holidays. I think it is because I am still sitting on the sofa in my dressing gown when normally I would be rushing to school!

AND I am off all next week- woo! Working from home today and Friday so I can be lazy and not bother getting dressed.

Oh and................still no scan date....

dinkystinky · 23/07/2008 09:01

Wow - working from home, that sounds great - am v as am still getting up at 6am (when DH and DS (aged 2 and an obscenely early riser) both get up) and squeezing myself into my suits to get to work for 8... though dont think my normal suits will fit me (even with the wonder of safety pins) for too much longer and will have to start wearing my "fat suits" again... ho hum

Singingintherain · 23/07/2008 11:50

My children finished school in June. It was just in time for the ms to start. No getting up at 7.00am, they have decided to get up at 10.00am great for me, I get up when they do.

I have moved my milestone to the 14th week as this was when I MC'd last time. I am so up and down everyday. I keep convincing myself there is a problem, but I am just frightened of another MMC.

I went away last time at 13 weeks to tell parents and it was on my return at just over 14 weeks, the MC happened. I am due to go away this time at 13+5 back to England for two weeks, so again I am worried about a repeat MC.

So far I have had 5 or 6 scans and each one is getting clearer. I am due for my 12w on Tuesday and Nuchal scan with or without blood test. I just have to take things easy while the haematoma might be growing. The good news of the haematoma is that they would be able to drain it should it grow and cause a problem. I should just worry about fresh bleeding for now. I have been free of bleeding for a week now so fingers are still crossed.

rosieposey · 23/07/2008 11:57

Singing, i know it is easy for me to say but dont worry, the chances of having another ms at the same stage under the same set of circumstances are tiny, 8 months ago i was in your position but this time i have told myself consistently that no pregnancy is the same and i have had 3 great ones so there is no reason why this one shouldnt be too.

Im off for a scan in Bristol at 5.45 (more for my DP's benefit than mine as he missed the last one and doesnt want to wait the three weeks for the NHS one) and lets face it - if your not paying for it its usually a quick in and out at the hospital anyway. Am quite excited to see if there is actually anything to see at 9 weeks 4 days - i hope so! and fingers crossed all is well.

Sound like the haematoma is fixable even if it does get bigger and thats the most important bit singing Just take it easy for as long as you can ... My youngest doesnt finish till Friday midday worse luck so no lie ins for me till then! ( Will have to make the most of them)

Singingintherain · 23/07/2008 12:18

I have been really taking it easy over the last few weeks. But I do wish I could go out a bit more. The weather has been really hot for the past few day (in the late 20's or more).

I live next to the beach and apparently it has been packed but I have not managed to see it. We have an anual holiday on Friday, so I hope we can go then.

My DD's get 10 weeks off school for the summer, but they only get two weeks for Christmas and two weeks for Easter and that is it. They do not get any half term holidays.

I have not cleaned the house for weeks now. DH has done it all, but today I have decided to tackle the two weeks worth of ironing that has mounted up. It should not take long as I have insisted that everyone only wears simple clothes that are easy to iron and DH has to do his own for work as I hate doing trousers with creases.

I am just looking forward to my holiday now. DH has booked some nice things for me to do so that I do not miss out on all the activities. So now I have to concentrate on getting ready for that. DD's are helping by making me some lists, they are really funny as I am laughing at what my youngest DD thinks should be priority. I will post later with their suggestions, when I have finished laughing.

The post came.

No scan date.

No phonecall.

No smiley face here.

Just one of these

Mostly at myself for being so bloody impatient!

PinkTulips · 23/07/2008 14:09

got my confirmation letter for my private scan today.

and i'm 12 weeks.

and the fecking sun has deigned to make an appearance (half hearted but better than rain and gale force winds)

and the kids are being good.

and i only have to get to the end of this week and my being stuck 5 miles from anywhere with no car will be over and done with.

and my MS seems to be getting better.

today is a good day

PinkTulips · 23/07/2008 14:15

oh, and baby is moving a bit more so am panicing less

KazzaL · 23/07/2008 14:24

Gina80 - I had SPD with DS, which was liveable with and it went away instantly he was born.

I struggled walking (lots of pain) but with a special belt I could cope with it and my physio (BUPA not NHS who woudl do nothing as I was PG) manipulated my pelvis back into alignment every few days by the end and even showed by DH how to do it, so he could manipulate if needed to.

Saw my physio ealrier this week and she told me that my pelvis is already wonky (i'm just about 12 weeks now) - so i'm dreading to think what it will be like by Feb.

Getting excited now about first scan next wed (very conveniently arranged for when I'm supposed to be in a team meeting ) just have a little worry about all the things that could be wrong... but i'm sure it will all be fine and DH will have a huge smile on his face like last time....

MarkStretch · 23/07/2008 15:00

Can you all help me with my nit dilemma?

here

dinkystinky · 23/07/2008 15:13

Hmm, I think I'd cancel and rebook Friday's appointment for the following Friday if I were you Markstretch. My friend's little boy had nits and it took around a week until he was fully clear of them.

laidbackinengland · 23/07/2008 15:17

Close your ears Markstretch ....

Just got back from my scan appointment - they have moved my due date forward by a few days to the 23rd Jan ( I am clueless about my own dates as was BF up until recently and hadn't really got to grips with my cycle.) Hope I will still be welcome on this thread ! (I'm often late anyway.)

Have my 21 week scan booked in and they want me in for a 34-36 sizing scan, because of my past penchant for producing large babies.

Baby looked very active and was dancing about happily .

You can listen again now Markstretch.

MarkStretch · 23/07/2008 16:00

Sorry what was that laidback? Did you say something?

Yes am worried, might rebook. It's a new hairdressers recommended to me by a friend and I would hate to infect their salon!
