Come on I can't be the ONLY one!!! I got my BFP this morning - I think I'm due around the 12th March...

No real symptoms yet other than slightly weary this afternoon, and quite bad backache.

Not too hopeful JUST yet as very early days and had a m/c last year. Already have a DD (2.5)

Don't leave me here on my own too long!!

I was shocked how quickly I got a BFP too. Was expecting it to take at least 6 months. We started ttcing 10th June got BFP 3rd July. I am overweight myself (although not obese) and have longer cycles (31-38 days) so really thought this might have an effect.

MavisGrind · 24/07/2008 12:08

Hello Hedgewitch - I think we've 'spoken' before. Were you asking about suitability of Boosh for children recently?

I digress..Feeling shockingly sicky today, have been eating non stop all day and to cap it all my jeans pinged open whilst putting ds in the bath! May have to dig out the maternity jeans earlier than expected...

Right, off to bed. Really tired too. With regards to the miscarriage thing, I keep telling myself that sickness is good, although it doesn't seem very fair.

CaptainKarvol · 24/07/2008 12:42

Hello again all,
well, I've just cancelled my appointment at the fertility clinic (I'd been holding on to it in case this all ended in tears in the first couple of weeks). It feels like quite a big step - I don't know where it leaves me if this pregnancy doesn't work out? Back at the back of the fertility queue? Not really needing treatment? - after all, I did get pg, it just took a long time. Ooooh, I don't know, it is all very strange. And I don't feel sick yet either .

Playingthe9monthwait · 24/07/2008 12:48

I really don't know Captain. Maybe its worth starting a thread in conception? I wouldn't worry about not being sick yet, its still early and some people don't get sick at all. I am now 8 weeks, didn't really get nausea till about 6 weeks and have only just starting throwing up this week and that only seems to be once a day.

Tapster · 24/07/2008 13:38

Will try and find nice floaty dress for the wedding in 3 weeks so I will be 9/10 weeks then. Luckily I won't know many people at all at the wedding so if I am rumbled I should be fine. Worried that SIL will be asked though, although we suspect she is pregnant too, but we have thought for over 6 months and no announcement yet!

emma2617 · 24/07/2008 14:59

Good afternoon ladies! I am back in work today...and I haven't had my regular lunchtime nap, I am NOT fairing very well!! Only 2 hours to go!! Apart from my obsene tiredness and the odd "uh-oh" MS moment I am not doing too bad! I can;t button my trousers anymore though...so have to zip them up as far as they will go and then tuck the top of my trousers into my underwear!!! So now I have to find plenty of long tops to cover it up!!

I have booked in to see the doctor , got a cancellation which means that I get to see one tomorrow when it ususlly takes over a week!! Need to ask about my asthma, why it would get worse in pregnancy and what we can do about it...hoping for some answers that will actually be helpful!!

How is everybody else today?!

Urgh am having a dreadful day feeling VERY sorry for myself. Had a migrane this morning which has rendered me totally useless. Have had to come home which has made me cross and now dozing on the sofa feeling blue.

Trying to remind myself it's just part of being pg but not really helping...

I think I need to get a grip

Sorry your having such a bad day aunty. Hopefully tomorrow will be better after so good rest tonight. Make sure your DH looks after you! I had a shit day yesterday, felt like crying because of it but am actually having a really good day today.

calsworld · 24/07/2008 16:36

Playing, I'm just behind you having a bit of a tearful one - finding it all quite frustrating not being on 'top' form.

I have a very strange sensation in my chest, like my stomach is pushing up - and feel a bit heartburny, surely its all too early for those kinds of symptoms isn't it?

Also, how soon is it possible to show in second pregnancy? I struggled to find anything I could do up in my wardrobe this morning, am wearing a skirt which is OK but all the trousers I bought in early pregnancy last time are at my sisters house and DH won't let me tell anyone yet...

Also, does anyone get sharpish pains around lower abdomen when they need the loo?

Playingthe9monthwait · 24/07/2008 16:49

Cal - I know exactly what you mena about not being on top from. Today is the first day I have felt vaguely human for 2 weeks and have actualyl do quite a bit of work, its amazing the difference, my work has really suffered recently.

I know nothing about dc2 of course but I am def larger in the belly area and this is dc1! All I can say is thank god I live in skirts as there is no way I would be doing up trousers. Luckily the majority of my skirts are actually a size to big round the waist (so they fit in the hips) so I have so growing room. I suppose I have quite a flabby belly to begin with so its not a surprise, still I am a bit that at 8 weeks if you look properly it does look like I have a bump, although its mainly fat it has def changed into a more bump like shape!

Playingthe9monthwait · 24/07/2008 16:50

How many typos were in that post

calsworld · 24/07/2008 16:52

Playing, I just don't seem to be able to hold my tummy in at all (I may be carrying a little extra too)

Its a good job my skirt is big. I just feel really bloated. I'm sure I'm going to get sussed very soon.

meep · 24/07/2008 17:10

Hi everyone - I kept off here for a while until I knew whether my bean was going to stay put or not. So far so good. Have had 2 hcg checks and they are in pregnancy range and increasing by the right amounts. Still another blood test and a scan to go though.

Because it is all very uncertain at the moment I don't want to post too much - don't want to jinx things or terrify the rest of you.

So fingers crossed I can join the thread properly soon!

Wow Fearless how amazing to see your bean already!

I need some advice please ladies... am due to visit my dearest friend in 2 weeks time, she called today to tell me her youngest has chicken pox and I had better not come.

I've had chicken pox already, and I think DD has had it (but it was v mild and I would rather she had a good dose of it to put my mind at rest). I've been looking it up on-line and the advice seems to be if I have it already then the tiny bean and I are immune. However pg brain can't get my head round it.

Any ideas out there? Much appreciated

spottycat · 24/07/2008 19:06

hello, has anyone been prescribed any drugs for morning sickness? Mine has got really bad (physically sick eleven times yesterday, feel like I've been through a washing machine, thoroughly had enough). I was worried about work, now I'm just worried about staying upright!

I saw my consultant at six weeks and he said he didn't like prescribing anything that early. I saw his partner a couple of days ago (now nearly nine weeks) and she prescribed Buccastem. She promises me it is safe, but there are a lot of scare stories on google, and I feel very guilty about taking anything this early anyway so haven't picked up the prescription yet.

Anybody else having this problem?

Tapster · 24/07/2008 19:08

Dorothywhipple - I got chickenpox the second time from my 7 month old niece several years ago so please don't see your friend.

dorothywhipple · 24/07/2008 19:10

Thanks Tapster

HopingCat · 24/07/2008 19:48

I know there are people on here who are really struggling with sickness, and I don't want to sound ungrateful, but my sickness has completely disappeared overnight. I'm worried as I feel completely not-pregnant. In my last pregnancy the sickness lasted 10 weeks, and it disappeared gradually. Has anyone else felt sick for 2 weeks and then had it disappear completely? It seems much too early to start feeling better. Just like a lot of people on here, I get worried about the possibility of miscarriage, and now I'm getting really worried.

HC

dorothywhipple · 24/07/2008 19:56

HopingCat in my last pg I had all day long nausea, it was horrible, this time (so far) nothing and I'm soooooooo grateful, especially after reading poor spottycat's rough time. Try not to worry, there are plenty other unpleasant symptoms to ease your mind - tiredness, sore boobs, big boobs, wind, spots and this complaint from other ladies here has made me shout 'HOORAY it's not just me!' A great big belly already!

HopingCat · 24/07/2008 20:43

dorothywhipple - I just want to have any of the symptoms. At the moment I don't mind which ones. It's more that I did have symptoms and now I don't that worries me. I know I should try not to worry.

dorothywhipple · 24/07/2008 21:05

Sorry HopingCat I'm clearly not being any help, but I agree with Playing & Lillymolly's posts yesterday that we hear an awful lot of worries about mc here on MN. And whilst it's great to have this space to share everything, it's also important to not let that play on our minds.
I know that that is easier said than done and I'm sorry to comment if I'm not helping...

PS Hope you start puking/farting/breaking out in spots/get fat soon
