Come on I can't be the ONLY one!!! I got my BFP this morning - I think I'm due around the 12th March...

No real symptoms yet other than slightly weary this afternoon, and quite bad backache.

Not too hopeful JUST yet as very early days and had a m/c last year. Already have a DD (2.5)

Don't leave me here on my own too long!!

Citybracnch - sorry to hear you have MC, wishing you all the best x

auntyspan · 17/07/2008 13:56

citybranch I'm so sorry

Emma I keep forgetting. I had a massive mezze thing for lunch and couldn't decide if should eat the mozzerella or not... avoided the brie though.

All you second-timers - how are your early symptoms comparing? Mine are totally different. Last time my boobs were ON FIRE and this time they're a little sore, but hardly at all.

You have to have your nuchal fold between 11 weeks and 13.6 weeks so I think you'll be fine Mavis. I have mine booked for 1st September and it's costing me £250 which includes the blood tests.

babyalfie · 17/07/2008 14:01

sorry just a little update.. I am 38 and have wo children already but very big!

I am going for a scan on Monday morning as dr sent me for one as had foodpoisoning the past few days and been very unwell. My due date is the 9th MARCH.

If everything is okay I will be refered for cvs to city hospital due to chromosones and want testing for downs as an older mummy also.

Thanks

Playingthe9monthwait · 17/07/2008 14:36

Citybranch, sorry to hear you news . At least you got pg quickly so hopefully you will get pg fairly quickly again.

Aunty - thats a hell of a lot for a scan! I wonder why the place near us is so much cheaper?

Emma - I got a list from the Midwife, tis not too bad. Basically its pretty much anything with too much vit A (e.g pate and liver), mould ripen cheese, anything using unpasterised milk (e.g cheese), raw eggs/not properly cooked eggs, unwashed veg/salad stuff and raw shelfish. Think thats everything.

Welcome Babyalfie.

MollieMooma · 17/07/2008 14:37

Citybranch So sorry you had to leave us, if you need some additional support the MC Avengers are fantastic, you will find them on the conception thread. Keep your chin up, and give yourself time physically and emotionally

Beetle73 · 17/07/2008 15:42

Really sorry to hear your news Citybranch. Hope you won't have to wait too long.

Beetle73 · 17/07/2008 15:46

Aunty - my symptoms very different too. Last time it was the sore breasts that were the first warning - really tender. This time nothing like it.
Last time had night-time indigestion, but not really morning sickness. This time feel sick almost constantly. Weird.

Starshinetiger · 17/07/2008 16:14

Citybranch - sorry to hear your news. We haven't come across each other on this thread yet, I don't think, but still wanted to extend my sympathies .
Sorry - can't remember who posted about working away at 20 weeks. With my first pg I went on a 2 day work trip at 33 weeks and was fine. Sounds like your trade fair is a lot more work and standing, but I had horrendous nausea and tiredness from 6 to 16 weeks then got better and for 2nd and 3rd trimester felt fine. Was only last 3 weeks that I got really tired again.
BUT - every pregnancy is different, so you can't be sure how you'll feel then. - not much help I know

MollieMooma · 17/07/2008 16:20

MKG Sorry to hear about your dog It's horrible when something like that happens they are such a big part of the family

Hello and welcome to Sadie & BabyAlfie

Feeling like crap today, tired, splitting headache and waves of nauseau but still not complaining

Playingthe9monthwait · 17/07/2008 16:40

wow, you know time is passing when you see there is an April 09 thread now!!!

MKG - I also meant to add I was really sorry about your dog too. They become part of the family and it it heart breaking when you loose them.

Mandy73 · 17/07/2008 17:09

MKG, I meant to say so sorry about your dog too.

MKG · 17/07/2008 17:15

Thank you everyone. I'm still very sad, but I'm ok. I grew up with Great Danes (who don't have a long life span) so I'm used to losing pets. It never gets easier though.

On a bright note I registered online at the hospital so they have all my admitting info. One less thing to think about.

FruitynNutty · 17/07/2008 17:28

I can't keep up with this thread

Citybranch I'm so terribly sorry. Thinking of you.

MKG so sorry to you too

I had my scan this morning. Baby a gestational sac as I'm only just under 5 weeks gone. I've got a looooong way to go before I'm out of the woods I'm to go back in two weeks for another scan. As it's too early to tell if it's viable Now I'm worried

CaptainKarvol · 17/07/2008 17:30

Citybranch and MKG so sorry to hear sad news from each of you - hope you are both doing OK and that you are back on antenatal boards very soon, city.

Who asked about second timers? (too far up the page for me to see!) I feel totally different than 1st time round. Not hungry at all, but last time I was starving at this stage. And I'm looking ahead much more this time - think it's cos I know what to expect. So I'm remembering the first little flutterings and kicks, and really anticipating them. I loved being pg (well, apart from the sickness, and heartburn, and piles, and odema, um...) But I really did love it - loved my body, loved feeling and looking pg.

SunshineSmith · 17/07/2008 17:40

hiya,

Citybranh sorry to hear your news! A virtual hug going your way!

MKG- so sad about your dog! The same happened to us a couple of years ago. sniff sniff

I have to defo undo my trousers when I sit in the office...kind of embarassing when my assistant pointed out that she could see my knickers..

Going to see the GP tomorrow so hopefully see midwife next week!

Not telling at work just yet! Just my mum and best friends know about the pregnancy.

Ah, do you know if it's ok to eat humous and use fake tan?

I totally forgotten from previous one.

Sharing with you my most superficial side, i wonder if fashion will be kind to us pregnant ones this autumm and winter?

HopingCat · 17/07/2008 18:47

So far my symptoms are similar to last pg. I am feeling sick earlier in this pregnancy, and did not feel this tired last time, but that could be related to having a toddler to chase!

Went to see GP on Wednesday. Asked about the dizziness/lightheadedness and was told my iron levels are probably low so I need to eat red meat and dark green veg. Not sure if anyone else has been feeling lightheaded, so thought I'd pass the info on. I've had beef stew tonight in the hope that it will raise my iron levels and make me feel less tired.

Anyone else eating ginger biscuits at all hours of the day? (it's a recognised thing for helping with morning sickness) and I am trying lots of different types of ginger biscuit to see if one is better than the others. Anyone found any really nice ones? The ginger nuts get boring after a while!

HC

at work atm and feeling ropey, nearly retched earlier!!

citybranch · 17/07/2008 23:30

Thanks everyone for kind words, you know how it is, not everyone in RL understands! Your March 09 babies will be very special. x

winemakesmummyclever · 18/07/2008 08:31

citybranch - so sorry for your loss. I hope that you have the love and support from those around you that you need right now. Take care of yourself and get some r&r if you can.

MKG - sorry to hear about your dog. We lost our dog a couple of years ago to cancer, but we now have a lovely retired guide dog to love (and hoover up after ds drops crumbs )

This pg is def the most tiring and nauseous so far. I ate like a horse when pg with ds, but have no appetite at all now and hate cooking as it makes me feel so ill. Luckily, dh is a good cook and doesn't mind coming home to chaos and cooking for us all .

Hope that everyone has a good day!

Yarnie · 18/07/2008 09:09

Hello everyone. Just thought I would say "hi"!

I got my BFP on Wednesday, so very early days yet. My EDD is around 26 March if all goes according to plan.

I've had sore (.)(.) and a lot of activity (cramps, pops and whizzes) in my lower stomach, although both seem to have settled today. I'm almost wishing for more symptoms as the lack of them makes me worry . Fingers crossed everything will be ok.

First visit to the GP today.

I look forward to seeing how every one gets on and learning from you all, especially you ladies who have been through this before. I am a first timer

Playingthe9monthwait · 18/07/2008 09:57

Welcome Yarnie. I'm a first timer too, there are a few of us on here!

Fruity, fingers crossed that everything will work out and you will have something to see at the next scan!

Feeling pretty shitty this morning. Went to bed at 8.30 last night and pretty much managed to sleep right through apart from loo breaks. Still woke up exhausted and have the lingering feeling of nausea already this morning, at least I haven't actually been sick yet. Just need to sleep, bring on the weekend.
