Come on I can't be the ONLY one!!! I got my BFP this morning - I think I'm due around the 12th March...

No real symptoms yet other than slightly weary this afternoon, and quite bad backache.

Not too hopeful JUST yet as very early days and had a m/c last year. Already have a DD (2.5)

Don't leave me here on my own too long!!

Hey Fruity
Great news about the scan, you must be so excited

FruitynNutty · 15/07/2008 20:43

yeah if a little nervous. When preg with DS it didn't cross my mind throughout the preg that there would ever be a problem. I'm a little worried they'll find an empty sac Don't know why just, you never know do you.

MKG · 15/07/2008 20:43

I know We literally were running opening windows we were confused after ours went off to hear so many others outside. Went out and half the street was outside in their pajamas wondering what was going on.

MKG · 15/07/2008 20:47

Fruity don't be worried, all will be fine.

FruitynNutty · 15/07/2008 20:48

What a view! any sexy male neighbours in their PJ's?

MKG · 15/07/2008 21:16

No just a bunch of old ladies

FruitynNutty · 15/07/2008 21:18

Shame

citybranch · 15/07/2008 21:22

Hi guys.
I still keep doing HPTs to make sure everything is cool! No real pg symptoms, just a cold on the way I think!

I've told my manager at work about the pg, and have meeting tomorrow.
In my line of work the earliest start time is 0445 and latest finish is 0130, I usually like these ealy/late shifts for childcare reasons but although I feel ok at the moment these shifts are not sustainable now so i need to negotiate something else. I also need to make sure I get more frequent breaks than usual.
Although i know these are not big requests and i am within my rights i can't help feeling weird and guilty about asking for these arrangements. Also, its a v. male dominated environment & i know from talk in the messroom that other ladies who have become pregnant have considered skivers! AAargh!
Help me get my tough head on!

Beetle73 · 15/07/2008 21:23

I can't keep up. Welcome to the newcomers - congratulations!

Emma - glad all's ok

Dorothy - sorry to hear about your mum (btw, I'm feeling really guilty about what i said about my dad - he's gorgeous really, just wants the best for me and, frankly he's not entirely wrong about my DP!! Anyway...)

MKG - what an appalling start to the day!

So, I'm feeling like I've been hit by a brick everyday, and almost permanently nauseous. Completely pointless at work - thankfully not many people in at the moment, and I have my back to the window, so nobody can see how little I'm doing . good news though - I've gone off chocolate! never thought I'd write that.

Beetle73 · 15/07/2008 21:26

That sounds tough citybranch. I think in most cases us mothers work really hard to compensate for needing these complicated arrangements (OK, I'm not living upto this just at the moment, but I have been known to!)

citybranch · 15/07/2008 21:36

Yeah, its kind of complicated to explain. I'm a driver on public transport. There are plenty of 'middle shifts' around,
i just need to make sure i get them!
Plus, I could work myself into the ground, but who wants a puking, fainting, (going by last pg) overworked pregnant woman driving them up & down..not sure i would! tricky one!

Elsy · 15/07/2008 21:37

Urrgh, the dreaded sickness has started, much earlier than last time. Am really struggling with it as I have to work in the evenings and that's when it's at its worst. Fingers crossed it stops at 14 weeks like last time.

Beetle73 · 15/07/2008 21:41

hmm. very tricky to work at half power when you're driving the general public. glad I only have other people's profits riding on my efforts!

dorothywhipple · 15/07/2008 21:45

twocutedarlings - 'sod em' exactly! So far it's made our little family unit even stronger
beetle - that made me laugh, by the way I've gone off the choc too, highly odd turn of events for me too
citybranch - I really sympathise with your dilemma of wanting to follow your instincts but also not let motherhood be seen as an excuse to hide behind at work. I don't have an answer I'm afraid, I just know how you feel.

LobstersLass · 15/07/2008 22:01

Hello ladies!

Goodness me this is a busy thread. And lots of new ladies since I last posted.

Today is a momentous day for me as it's the date that I miscarried in my last pregnancy. All is ok this time!! Hurrah!!
So I may just begin to relax a bit now.

This pregnancy is still a secret. Only dh and I know. I'm hoping not to tell anyone until we've had the 12/13 week scan. Fingers crossed that we get there.

I'm so relieved.

Still no sickness, which I guess is a good thing, although I'd welcome it purely for reassurance.

I'm convinced that my chest is getting bigger by the day! Anyone elses boobs growing yet?!!

Anna22 · 15/07/2008 22:23

Hi everyone!
I got mine on Sat... sooo happy, but surprised as was planning to try from next month! Finding it hard to balance being overjoyed on one hand, and terrified of something going wrong on the other... my bff had a miscarriage last month at 8 weeks so I'm trying hard not to focus on that.

Symptom wise, I'm grumpy, tearful and irrationally tired, but no morning sickness as yet (keep your fingers crossed!) but then I am very early on, due around March 21st I think

MKG · 15/07/2008 22:30

Anna is this your first baby?

Anna22 · 15/07/2008 22:35

Yes!

Wow.. I just realised how ong this thread is, I only read the first page before adding my bit!

I haven't told anyone yet, apart from my husband, obviously. Feel quite bad as I've just moved to Leicester and started a new job here, and the got pregnant 3 weeks after I started! Ah well. Didn't realise it'd happen quite as soon as this- was excpecting at least 6 months of trying first!

MKG · 15/07/2008 23:16

Yeah I thought that with my first too. I figure the average is 8 months so I figured it would a few months. This is my third "surprise".

There is a stat list around you should add yourself to it.

MavisGrind · 16/07/2008 03:02

This is a very busy thread - March is a popular baby month it would seem!

Not told anyone in RL (except dh) yet as it's extremely early days. We're flying back from living in Oz in a couple of weeks so now panicking about flying long haul at 8 weeks. (not to mention flying long haul with a 2 year old) Anyone had any experience?

Feeling a bit nauseous today, think it must be psychological though as I felt fine up to the bfp!

Hope everyone is feeling ok. Isn't this exciting?

pipsy76 · 16/07/2008 06:02

winemakesmummyclever · 16/07/2008 09:02

Hi ladies, can I join you here?

First of all, congratulations to everyone!

Got my bfp a couple of weeks ago, and have been lurking for a wee while. I already have a ds (27m), but have had two previous mc. Am due 02.03.09 - the baby I lost in my last mc would have been born on 07.03.08, so am fretting a wee bit about all of this.

We are trying to keep it all quiet until we get the 12w scan - have asked for an earlier scan, but they won't give me one . Had one at 8w with ds, but protocols have changed.

Am feeling sick and knackered and have no interest in food whatsoever (very unlike me!). Am happy to put up with all that if it means a stickly little bean!

Here's to a happy and healthy pregnancy for all of us. Good luck to all those who have got their scans soon .

firstduemarch09 · 16/07/2008 10:08

Gosh - been catching up all the posts (can only read them once a day!)

Aunty laughed at your post re retching over your bin at work - can just imagine!

Congratulations to all the newcomers.

Hugs for all those not getting the support and love that they should from their families. My Dad is the funniest - he is sooooo excited but knows he can't tell anyone so tells random people in the street because he says that doesn't matter?!! He's crazy!

Its 6 weeks today and all going so slowly! Not too many symptoms - retching a few days, sense of smell, stomach cramps a couple of times. Majorly knackered. Only done one BFP - is that enough?? Saw gp last week - waiting for mw letter/date etc - not sure what to do next...........

emma2617 · 16/07/2008 10:28

Welcome everyone, the BFPs are flying in now!!

To everyonehoping for MS...don't! I have been beeging for MS for the last 2 weeks as I had only had the odd bit of feeling sick but it passed after 5/10 mins...then this morning!! I am at work and spent half hour in the toilet...I eventually thought "sod this!!" as I couldn't actually be sick so I stood up to leave when I erupted!! It was horrendous and I have had to tell everyone it must be something I ate and they keep asking why I am not going home! I am also absolutley knackered...I have brought a duvet and pillow in my car today so that I can have a nap at lunch as I was on the verge of tears yesterday afternoon because I was that tired!! I'm starting to think this wasn't such a great idea afterall!!!! Why can't I have one of those wonderful pregnancies where you just bloom and enjoy it...not a symptom in sight!!! Sorry, I am feeling very sorry for myself today

Dorothy Sorry about your mum, I know we can't pick our relatives, but wouldn't it just make life so much easier!! I know thats how my dad is going to react which is why I'm not telling them just yet..I need to wait until I have the energy to hadle his reaction!

How is everybody else today?!
