Come on I can't be the ONLY one!!! I got my BFP this morning - I think I'm due around the 12th March...

No real symptoms yet other than slightly weary this afternoon, and quite bad backache.

Not too hopeful JUST yet as very early days and had a m/c last year. Already have a DD (2.5)

Don't leave me here on my own too long!!

FruitynNutty · 15/07/2008 09:15

I've just worked out that I'm only 4 weeks today

Can anyone tell me if I'm doing this right. I've got really dodgy long cycles cos of PCOS BTW.

Ok, I had implantation spotting on CD55 and CD56 (8th/9th July)
That usually comes a week after ovulation right? so I must have Ov'd on CD48/49 (1st/2nd July)
Ovulation occurs (for a normal person-on average) 14 days after AF right? So, take away 2 weeks means my AF should've arrived on CD34/35 (17th/18th June)
This means I'm 4 weeks today.

my chart (Ignore the 1st overlaying chart)

I know I'll fnd out soon enough but it'd be nice to have a rough estimate

FruitynNutty · 15/07/2008 09:18

Hey Aunty, Fruitloop used to be my name! I changed to this name
Oh and I sympathise with your delivery, I too was induced and had an emergency C-section (after forceps and suction thingie)

IT WILL BE DIFFERENT THIS TIME!!!! In fact I've got my hopes set on a home birth so it'll have to be different

hermionegrangerat34 · 15/07/2008 09:31

AAAGH.....
BFP!!!
Due 23rd I think (though we tend to overcook by a week or two in my family).
Was this a good idea....?!

emma2617 · 15/07/2008 09:52

Welcome Hermione Of course it was a good idea!!!

Well ladies...I had stabbing pains last night, no bleeding though! I was meant to be seeing doctor this morning at 9 so I didn't really worry, but then I got a call to say he had called in sick so I would need to rearrange with their next available appointment being 23rd July

I asked to speak to a doctor due to the pains and she has squeezed me in at 11.20...I hope all is okay >

twocutedarlings · 15/07/2008 10:05

Congrats hermionegrangerat34

Fruity how long are your cycles normally? and what date was your period due?

Sorry if these sound like really dumb ass questions, but ive no idea what AF is or CD55 CD56, so if you would fill me in, i will try and help you work it out. .

Well for me fingers crossed the sickness has almost gone.........yipeee. I no longer feel sicky constantly, just part of the day which is a massive improvement .

Aunty, i had a terrible first labour with DD1, 26 hours of active labour, 3 failed vountose attempts, i ended up with a very nasty forceps delivery and if all this wasnt bad enough DD1 was born grey and grunting, she spent almost a week on ICU and further week on SCBU .

However with DD2 totally differant!! she was born at home (unplanned) and delivered by 2 wonderfull paramedics after just 2 hours of labour and 3 pushes!! to be totally honest it was only the last 10 mins that was actually painfull .

With this baby im not nervious one little bit, and i will more than likely have a planned homebirth this time.

MollieMooma · 15/07/2008 10:09

Emma Good luck, crossing everything for you x
Hermoine Hello and welcome, there is a list floating around if you'd like to add yourself to it. Is this your first?

I have been a bit evil yesterday and today, quite snappy, irratible and no patience whatsoever! Is this normal?

auntyspan · 15/07/2008 10:17

ooo welcome hermione is this your first?!

emma have things crossed for you - i think it'll just be those stretching pains, mine have been quite sharp recently but I think unless you have bleeding things will be OK... but check in when you've seen the doc...

Fruity brilliant I must have esp re: fruitloop name!! Good luck with the home delivery thing - I'm booking in for a section as soon as they'll let me! Well not really... I'll see how it goes, but if I'm cooking another massssss-hive baby (DD was 10lb) then there's no way it's coming out of my fanjo!

I was in tears last night - had a massive craving for runner beans and cooked a whole bag, then sprinkled some cheese over the top - got back to the couch and realised the cheese was mouldy. I was GUTTED as I really wanted them. DH (bless him) offered to pop to Tesco for some more... so yes feeling tearful too!!

CaptainKarvol · 15/07/2008 12:02

Hello, can I come in? BFP today after 13 long, long cycles of trying. EDD 22 March if all goes well. Already have one DS (2.4), so there will be just over 3 years between them with any luck. I haven't even told DH about the positive test yet because he's in London all day for work!

emma2617 · 15/07/2008 12:29

Welcome Captain Aren't we busy recently...lots of BFPs!!

I have just got back to work after seeing doctor! She was lovely, understood how I was worried about every pain after other doctor suggesting ectopic! She had a poke of my belly and said she saw no reason why it wasn't a normal intra-uterine pregnancy and that everything was okay (adding that if pain becomes more contsistent to call back!!).

But al least she booked the pregnancy and the form will be sent off today! So I should get a call from midwife to make first appointment and then a letter from the hospital with scan date! I am all excited again!

You guys must think I'm bipolar or something...I go from sad/worried to ecstaically happy quite frequently!! Oh well, I asure you I am not!!

MavisGrind · 15/07/2008 12:31

Hello - tempting fate and joining in! Got a bfp earlier, should be due around the 22nd.

Have had a m/c before, about 5 years ago, and have ds who is 2.1...

Will now go and catch up on who's who

CaptainKarvol · 15/07/2008 12:42

Nice to meet you all, I recognise a lot of your names from the boards!

Does anyone know what you do next? Do you tell the doctors / midwives at 6 weeks, or is it later?

I know I've done it all before, but it feels like a lifetime ago, and I can't remember what happens.

Last time I'd been having problems with bleeding between periods, and a scan had shown a possible bicornuate uterus, so I was in a right state about the pg, told the docs straight away and had a reassurance scan at 8 weeks. This time I've been seeing a consultant fertility doc and had a scan last week which showed a nice healthy womb (2 small fibroids but no odd shape), so I'm much more chilled.

Playingthe9monthwait · 15/07/2008 13:01

Morning all,

Welcome to our new members and congratulations on your pg!

Fruity - Sounds like you are probably workign out your EDD ok, but whether the medical prof will agree is another matter. My gp insisted my EDD in the 6th March because her wheel said so . In reality it is probably more like the 9/10th as there is no way I ov'd on CD14. Hopefully my midwife will be a bit more sensible and put my date back a few days.

Captain - I got my BFP on the Thurs, spent the Fri/Sat/Sun compulsively testing than made a gp apt on the Mon. Saw her that night (I was amazed you normally wait weeks to see the gp) and have my midwife apt booked for tomorrow. I'm only 6+6 by my official dates and more like 6+2 in reality. Still, it will be nice to get this pg all booked in.

Can I ask when people are planning to tell work? I really didn't want to tell work yet but I am really struggling. I'm not actually sick, although get waves of nausea, but I am so so tired and I feel like my brain won't function, everything seems to be taking me twice as long to do. I have already messed up a couple of things in the past couple of weeks and my boss keeps asking me if I am ok. Part of me just wants to tell him the other part of me thinks its too early.

MKG · 15/07/2008 13:19

I told my job right away. They were all really supportive during my miscarriage in January though, and we are a small family there.

HopingCat · 15/07/2008 13:36

Hi,

I see there's been bad news on here since I last posted, but a few new people too so I'll be positive and focus on all the lovely BFPs.

I've got my first sick feelings this week. I'd forgotten just how rubbish it can make you feel, and how quickly it can come and go. I'm only 6 weeks tomorrow, and last time I didn't get sick til later on. Anyone found the sickness bands any good? I've not tried them before.

I didn't want to tell work very soon, but may do if I feel sick every day. Have still not told family yet though as I don't want to do it over phone. Don't want to end up telling my boss before my Mum.

HC

dinny · 15/07/2008 13:38

welcome all you newly BFP people! and congrats!

Playingthe9monthwait - already told my manager at work (he is a really good friend too) as I had to renege on increasing my hours to include some crazily early shifts - couldn't face it! am going to wait till whenever anyone notices other than him though!

MKG - hmmmm, I know what you mean about being proud of your body but now I am pregnant again I find myself worrying about delivery (despite having both mine with not even a whiff of G&A or anything and no tearing etc) - ds getting a bit stuck has put the frighteners on me

btw, my sister has a Matteo

dinny · 15/07/2008 13:39

HC - I have my sick bands on now, they do help me a bit, not sure if it is psychological or what though....

it's so weird how it comes and goes so much, isn't it?

Starshinetiger · 15/07/2008 13:39

Hello - can I join please? Tentatively stepping my toes into the thread as I'm not convinced of BFP yet!
Have been on a (the best ) TTC thread and got an early BFP last Tues and Fri. AF was due Sat - or Mon at latest and no sign yet. Have one test left and refusing to use it until Friday as i'm very nervous!
Have one DS 22 months and very excited about DC2 (someone remind me of that when the sleepness nights kick in next year! ).
Symptoms so far include a bit of car sickness before BFP (car sickness unusual for me), lots of stretching pains (do you know what I mean?) in abdomen/ovary area, dizziness, hormonal tears and anger - are these symptoms you guys have had?
EDD calculated as 23 March.

GYo · 15/07/2008 13:41

Hi everyone,
Welcome new members.

Regarding telling work, playing Guess if you are not feeling great it might good for them to understand.

Im not sure either. I kind of think I should tell key people (like HR, and my career mentor, and boss) now but think I should tell family first.

Starshinetiger · 15/07/2008 13:46
  • sorry GYo, didn't see you were on here already too.
GYo · 15/07/2008 13:46

HI Star- welcome, glad you made it over. Didnt know you werent sure about the BFP, however I've had similar symptoms re abdominal pains, emotion etc.

Good for you for hanging in there and not testing.
