Come on I can't be the ONLY one!!! I got my BFP this morning - I think I'm due around the 12th March...

No real symptoms yet other than slightly weary this afternoon, and quite bad backache.

Not too hopeful JUST yet as very early days and had a m/c last year. Already have a DD (2.5)

Don't leave me here on my own too long!!

Afternoon Ladies!! Wow...what a lot of action over the last couple of days! I have tried to catch up....but ever since BFP my attention span has seriously diminished!!

I can't believe there are so many new additions to the list! And another couple of first-timers...how exciting!!!

Munchies Hope everything is okay!

I have developed a super sense of smell, tried to go out for a meal with DP which didn't go well, and also supermarkets aren't much fun either!! I thought I wanted beef stew and dumplings for lunch today, so i defrosted some leftovers from the other day...got half way through cooking it and had to leave the kitchen! Had to call DP down from upstairs to sort it out and open kitchen windows and back door a I was wretching!! I have also discovered that my only "safe" food is ginger biscuits!!

I am with the doctor on Tuesday for all the forms etc...I am going to ask about dating scan as the medical profession thinks I am 8 weeks whereas I think I am more 5/6...but don't know for sure!

Hope everyone is okay!!

FruitynNutty · 13/07/2008 15:16

Hmmm.... I actually didn't want an ice-cream at the park today I haven't had any lunch nd I'm not hungry. Usually I have to fight to stop myself eating. Perhaps a 1st symptom? I feel like I should eat something but I don't know what. I don't fancy anything. Not like me at all.

Mandy73 · 13/07/2008 15:32

Afternoon all,

Dinny I was thinking that. Fine vintage, old -73. I?m Aug. Is it true ?the mother?s age? is calculated from date of conception BTW?

munchiesmama how are you getting on with the bleeding? Sounds a bit scary, I hope you're OK. I was spotting brown today, bit freaked out but decided not to worry, probably implantation stuff that?s worked its way out. AF would have been due yesterday.

Beetle sorry to hear you?re knackered, I?m pretty whacked too but it must be tougher for you & others who already have DC to look after.

TwoCD and Beetle so sorry to hear about the parents. We don?t choose our relatives do we?

Waves to everyone, hope you?re enjoying the w/e. xx

Took CB digital this morning [still in disbelief emoticon], BFP in 15 seconds . Anyone else having a sore pelvis? ? could be side effect of all that BDing .

GYo · 13/07/2008 16:13

Hi Mandy
I know exactly what you mean about disbelief! I keep wanting to retest but wont waste the First Responses. I've done two and one with a very dilute sample.

No sore pelvis but occasional crampy twinge. nothing like AF cramps though.

Fruity strange re your appetite. I am sure you will get phases of hunger, no hunger and nausea.

munchiesmama · 13/07/2008 17:05

Hi everyone hope u r having good weekends!

Things haven't changed which I am hoping is a good sign, still no pain. Have a scan booked for 10am tomorrow so should know more after that. Fingers crossed.

Take care xx

munchiesmama · 13/07/2008 17:07

TwoCD sorry about your mum, what an odd reaction! Have things improved?

MollieMooma · 13/07/2008 17:08

Munchies Good luck for tomorrow, I'll be thinking of you

dinny · 13/07/2008 22:27

Mandy - the date the mother was conceived you mean?

Just spent the afternoon at a boozy BBQ - VERY weird to be sober!!

keep stressing about giving birth, I know it's ages away though...

fififlores · 13/07/2008 23:50

I'm soooo knackered, no energy to run round after DS (22 months). Also nausea, then it goes away, so I stuff my face and feel sick... and very parpy - nice!

I'm a bit older than all you '73ers, I'm a 69-er. Hoping to give birth just before I hit the big 4-0.

Good luck with your scan tomorrow, Munchies.

TwoCD and Beetle, poor you with your parents, that must be really tough.

MKG · 14/07/2008 02:04

Dinny--I'm the opposite of you. I'm counting down the days to giving birth. It is absolutely the most wonderful thing I've ever done. I just want to skip this pregnancy business and get to the good stuff.

FruitynNutty · 14/07/2008 07:26

Morning girls

Ok so I made up for not eating during the day yesterday. By 7 I was stuffing my face on Sensations crisps and sweet chilli dip [mmmmmmmm] then we had dinner at a friends house. DP told them the good news. They were over the moon for us as they knew we had been trying for a long time. I'd like to keep it quiet but in reality it's impossible! The trouble is, everyone knew we were TTC as I'm a blabber mouth and can't keep anything to myself

Am I the youngest here? I'm 1979 so that makes me 29 (only just) It's the big Three 0 next year

Munchies let us know how your scan goes, can't ait to hear about it

emma2617 · 14/07/2008 08:53

Morning Ladies! I am sooo tired today, I can't focus on anything!! And I am weeing like a racehorse

Fruity I am trying to keep it quiet too...but everyone at work has guessed! Fortunately I don't live that near to my family so they haven't got chance to guess!! And I'm sorry...you're not the youngest, I think I beat you!!

FruitynNutty · 14/07/2008 08:54

Oh poo, how old are you then Emma?

emma2617 · 14/07/2008 09:30

I am 21!!!

FruitynNutty · 14/07/2008 09:45

Errr, yes I do believe you beat me

MollieMooma · 14/07/2008 10:05

Oh Emma you've made me feel so old!
Fruity Glad to see you got your appetite back in style!
Well I rang the EPAU to chase my appt for an early scan next week to be told that my GP has sent the wrong forms, they refused to ring the surgery so I had to inform them what they had done wrong and what they needed to do to fix it, talk about shirking responsibility
Hopefully I should get a call today or tomorrow so that I can start panicking . Had sickness again last night at about 10.00pm and I keep wavering this morning from feeling sick and then really hungry

Hope your all well

Playingthe9monthwait · 14/07/2008 10:15

Morning everyone, you've all been busy over the weekend!

Welcome all the newbies - Hi GYo.

Yep Emma is the youngest so far by a few years. I am 26 so will be one of the youngest, although this is my first so it makes sense I will be ont he younger side.

Sorry people have been having parent issues. Obvioulsy mine are over the moon as it will be first grandchild. Haven't told in laws yet, probably will in a couple of weeks.

Only told my immediate family and a couple of really close mates, although the others have already started guessing. Apparently 3 different people in the pub on sat night asked DH if I was pg, he denied it (blamed medication) but hesitated apparently, so was not very convincing, so word will soon spread. Its easy enough fooling people you are drinking with (tonic and lime looks just like a G&T) but when you know all the bar staff as well, there's no fooling them you are not drinking.

I'm not bothered tbh and I know I couldn't lie outright, its one thing to make excuses about not drinking, its another to deny outright you are pg if asked directly. So I think if anyone asks me outright I will admit it but until then I will keep quiet. So if I avoid the pub till next weekend, I can probably get away with people not knowing for another week.

When to tell work is really my latest dilema.

auntyspan · 14/07/2008 10:24

21??? I feel so OLD!

AFter having a smug weekend of very little sickness it's back with a vengeance this morning.... keep having to retch over my bin

I was being sick in the shower this morning (nice) and DD was shouting through the door "you alright mummy??" bless. DH was still in bed snoring I have found these great t-bags from Morrisons, Ginger and Lime. They're really refreshing and I think are helping my poorly tummy.

Am getting my early scan sorted this morning, much less complicated than you mollie as its self-referral. Hopefully get an appointment for the end of next week.

Playingthe9monthwait · 14/07/2008 10:31

Sorry your sickness is back aunty. Mine has been ok for the past couple of days. I seem to have stopped feeling sick as long as I keep food in my stomach and try not to get over tired. In fact apart from tiredness and sore boobs I can't say I really have much in the way of symptoms any more, I suppose its still early enough for them to come and go.

MollieMooma · 14/07/2008 11:11

Playing I think I'm offended This is my first and I'm 36!!!!

Playingthe9monthwait · 14/07/2008 11:13

Mollie - . Didn't mean anything by that of course!!

emma2617 · 14/07/2008 11:17

Don't feel old!!! I feel very young...at least a lot of you have friends with babies/pregnant...I am the only one of my friends!!

I would have waited a little longer, until we had mortgage etc, but the way the housing market is I decided I wasn't prepared to wait for that!! Plus DPs ow sperm count...I really didn't expect it to happen this quickly!!! I am 22 2 1/2 weeks!!!

Playingthe9monthwait · 14/07/2008 11:47

I know what you mean Emma.

We were buying a house last year. The idea was to buy the house, be broke for about 3 years due to a huge mortgage and doing up the house, then hopefully have enough money to think about starting a family. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on you POV) the house all fell through just before the Northern Rock debacle. Our mortgage offer was close to expiring and the Building society withdrew it from the market and it became clear that we would not be able to get another mortgage unless we paid through the nose for it or possibly not get one at all. So we decided not to buy and wait and see what happened.

By the beginning of this year it became clear that now was not the time to buy your first house (and in my area rent is much cheaper than mortgage) so we had a choice to make. Either still buy a house but delay it for a year or two, which would put back having kids till my early 30's but give us time to save a bit more money or have kids now and buy much later. We opted to have kids as tbh I really don't think I could wait another 5 years before starting a family (DH and I have already been together nearly 10 years)and a family is a higher priority to me than owning a house. In time we should be able to do both but for now we have given up on the house buying idea.

emma2617 · 14/07/2008 12:20

playing I am glad I'm not the only one!!! I am starting studying Law at OU in February (I know, not the best plan with being due in March...but I'm sure we will muddle through!) which should take 6 years, by which point we should have save enough for a reasonable deposit, DC will be in school and I will be able to start a career in Law...so although the first few years will be a bit of a struggle we should hopefully get there before I turn 30...DP will be 35 though!!

munchiesmama · 14/07/2008 12:42

Hi everyone, sorry to say that the scan showed an empty womb, they are doing blood tests to check it isnt an ectopic pregnancy, but either way I unforunately wont be due March 09.

Take care everyone, wishing you all happy healthy pregnancies. xx
