Come on I can't be the ONLY one!!! I got my BFP this morning - I think I'm due around the 12th March...

No real symptoms yet other than slightly weary this afternoon, and quite bad backache.

Not too hopeful JUST yet as very early days and had a m/c last year. Already have a DD (2.5)

Don't leave me here on my own too long!!

FruitynNutty · 11/07/2008 17:23

Hey mandy I told DP over the phone as he's working late tonight and couldn't wait to tell him

He's in shock lol. We didn't expect it to happen just yet, even after 11 months hahaha

We're getting married next September so I better not pile on the pounds/stone like last time. I put on 3 stone! Most of it was baby and stuff but still.

I'm already half a stone more than I am usually so I'm not starting off on the right foot really.

I gave up coffee last time but only cos I went off it. I also went off Alcohol, fags (yes I normally smoke the odd few when out drinking which is very rare) and curry.

Obviously I wont be smoking now and anyway I wont be drinking so wont feel the "need" for a fag

Mayo, I got very twitchy about but know I've realised that manufactured mayo is pretty much safe.

I forgot to say, Thank you so much for the congrats and welcome

dinny · 11/07/2008 18:18

Another congrats and welcome, Fruity

how many first-timers are there on here?

I am on number 3, see profile for numbers one and two

lilymolly · 11/07/2008 18:23

Hi Can I join ?

had 2 BFP and prob about 4 weeks

Anyone else have an enormous bloated tummy which looks like I am 5 months already??

goldmother2b · 11/07/2008 18:26

Hello - its been a busy day on here today!
Welcome to the newcomers and congrats on your BFPs

Re the coffee - ~I have been buying Clipper Organic decaff - it is decaffinated without the use of chemicals, and was recommended on a website I read a while ago whilst researching what coffee I could safely drink. I have also been drinking Twinings Peppermint and Fennel tea for the last couple of days - it tastes ok and seems to be helping with my previously constant heartburn.

Re the shingles - one of my colleagues has chickenpox which is a different representation of the same virus - I spoke to NHS direct as have no record of having CP as a child, and was told to speak to GP immeditately. Went for a blood test today.

Apologies for the essay!!!! x

I had chicken pox as a kid, and on nhs website it says that baby will be safe if you come into contact with shingles as long as you have had chickenpox. So I think I'm ok. Will check with GP when I go on Wednesday.

Thanks for advice though.

citybranch · 11/07/2008 21:18

Hi everyone can I join? I've done about SIX tests in the last couple of days, some fainter than others, so it's taken me a while to accept that they are BFPs!
This is my second pg, I have 18 month old DS.
So far I just feel massively bloated with a low level headache all the time!

So excited!

Morning, How is everyone today?
To all us newcomers, Has it sunk in yet?

I've done 3 more tests this morning. The first (Ebay) was even more faint that yesterday but then proceeded to do two more tests, this time Superdrug which came up stronger then Clear Blue Digital - I'll be putting that one in the baby/preg book I've put them on my profile (how sad)

So can I officially join your list now?

Also, it's normal to have the odd niggle in your uterus area isn't it? Not AF pain but the odd very mild jabbing - I'm assuming it's beany getting all snuggly.

Oh crap I forgot to say HI GYO!!!!! >

s'nice in here

FruitynNutty · 12/07/2008 07:22

Oh and Hi Beetle I only joined yesterday but I'm sure I can welcome you in Huge congrats to you lady!

GYo · 12/07/2008 07:23

Hi fruit

I've had those slight pains too. Thought it was AF coming before i tested despite feeling v pregnant. Seemed to have passed now but I can definately tell there is something going on down there!

How are you feeling? any symptoms yet?

FruitynNutty · 12/07/2008 07:35

Errr nope no symptoms. I think it's too early (well except for the niggles) I remember from last time the extreme tiredness, you will not have ever felt tiredness like it. Luckily last time round I didn't really have morning sickness. Just slightly nauseous at the beginning (from about 8 weeks) but it wasn't unbearable at all. I'm hoping it will be the same this time round too.
Are you hoping for a boy or girl or are you not fussed at all?

I secretly would like a girl but I then I would be bankrupt from buying all those delicious little monsoon dresses Really though, I would love either a boy or a girl I'm just so amazed I managed to get preg after only 11 months With PCOS I whole heartedly expected it to take years!
I was off the pill for 3 years before I conceived DS.
I was even hoping for some Clomid from the consultant in August Thank goodness I dont need it.

How amazing that two of us with PCOS got a BFP on the same day! That's special that is

GYo · 12/07/2008 07:42

LOL i think you are right regarding it being too early for symptoms! Im probably imagining it. Was feeling a bit nauseous (same kind of thing as when I first started taking metformin) from about 3 days before my BFP. I am already quite tired, but hoping it wont get much worse- but sure it will.

Not really bothered re boy or girl. All my life I wanted a girl first, but then in the last few years friends have had boys and now I realise I am not so bothered.

I am still so happy at DHs reaction. he was so shocked at when I told him but now is estatic, which makes it a million times better for me.

Two PCOS BFPs on the same day is amazing. So pleased to have a PCOS buddy to get through it with!

Are you still smiling?

FruitynNutty · 12/07/2008 07:47

Absolutely Woke at 5.45 this morning still grinning lol!

I ran into DP this morning after I tested again and said "look look, it's official, Clear Blue Digital has spoken!"
I think he;s still in shock. I think when he agreed to TTC he expected it to take a lot longer (like I did) but he's really happy (I think) You know men, they don't "get it" till baby's born or at least until they can see a bump!

I still can't quite believe it!
I've already told three of my RL friends - but I see these girls everyday so there's no way I could keep it a secret.
Not sure how/when to tell my mother
Have you told anyone yet?

GYo · 12/07/2008 07:56

I know what you mean about DP/DHs being shocked. They dont get used to it in same way we do I guess. I kind of knew before testing anyway...

I was supposed to test again this morning with him to confirm (but 1st test was so strong its not really required!) - but I forgot so it wont be FMU, which Im sure doesnt matter now....

I've not told anyone other than DH and the MNers! Firstly we said we'd wait til 12wks due to the PCOS higher MC rate. I then realised I wont be able to keep it from my sister who will guess (she's been waiting for this moment since we got married!)

Will prob tell sister/ mother first but after I've seen a doctor and if I have a dating scan. Its really hard keeping my mouth shut though.

I really want to tell my good friend who had a baby in March this year who will now be 1yr older than my DC.

When are you planning to see a doc or midwife?

FruitynNutty · 12/07/2008 08:03

I've got an appointment on Tuesday eve. I've got an internal fertility base-line scan booked for the 28th July so I'll go along to that and tell them I'm pregnant, maybe I'll get a pic if I ask nicely

I'm going to really struggle not to tell anyone else, I walk around with a permanent grin on my face. People will think I'm a nut case. My friends will all guess. Trouble is, most of them know the problems we've had TTC so they will just know.
I will try my best not to breath a word though!

Have you booked GP appointment yet?

Get in there early! Tell the GP that with your long PCOS cycles you dont know when you will be due so you need a dating scan. You'll get an nice early pic then
I had a dating scan with DS at 9 weeks

GYo · 12/07/2008 08:04

Also DH goes on hols on Sunday for a week with his best friend (long story but his best friend has had issues so he is taking him away for some MANTIME!)

He doesnt want to go now- and its going to be very weird being here without him!!

FruitynNutty · 12/07/2008 08:06

awww, I wonder if he'll tell him the news. Do you think he can keep it to himself for a week?
