Thought I'd get this started so we can try & arrange something before the beanies are born

I think everyone said evenings/weekends were better and probably central London. So we just need a date & an actual place to meet!

Hi, sorry I'm a bit late coming back to this thread! I couldn't initially make the 25th July but I can now, so please can you add me in, too! Thanks

LadyThompson · 03/07/2008 11:42

Can I come too please? Bit late as been on hols. Wow, it'll be a big group. I am worried that everyone will be a) younger than me (I am 36) and b) thinner than me (dc is due on Dec 3 and I am starting to feel like a bit of a bloater)...

JamInMyWellies · 03/07/2008 11:55

the more the merrier.

chutneymary · 03/07/2008 13:51

LadyT - Hotmama and I are the grandes dames of the thread. I won't say how old she is (although she has of course mentioned it, else I wouldn't know) but I am nearly 39. Iwas a good 14 round the bust and 12 round the bum before I started, and now I look like I have eaten too many cakes. So please STOP worrying and get your bump out for dinner on the 25th

chutneymary · 03/07/2008 13:52

And this is my third baby so no tummy muscles here at all. I'll look like a whale after a pizza and glass of wine....

LadyThompson · 03/07/2008 14:09

Hooray! Thank you x x x

Verso · 03/07/2008 17:47

i'm 37 [38 on sunday] and am size 18, so please don't fret!

LadyThompson · 03/07/2008 17:55

I don't know quite why I was envisaging 23 year old whippets, but I was! This is all good. Are we wearing name badges (with real names and MN names) or is that too horrendously naff?

Verso · 03/07/2008 18:34

I'm not sure about badges - but we could do our own place cards to put in front of our plates?

LadyThompson · 03/07/2008 18:38

Good idea. Something like that. I'm bad with names y'see and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Badges is a bit WI.

rosmerta · 03/07/2008 20:30

I quite like the badges idea, we could decorate them with feathers & glitter

It's a nice sized group. Anyone booked yet?

Verso · 17/07/2008 13:39

Just bumping this to see if there's anything we need to do - and also whether anyone will be getting a train home from Victoria afterwards

LadyThompson · 18/07/2008 15:17

What time are we meeting?? Has someone booked? Not getting a train from Victoria, sorry. Will get a cab to Maida Vale. Oh, and I am bringing along some black size 12 Top Shop maternity jeans if anyone wants them. They look crap on me and someone can have them for free. Only worn them twice. First come first served!

Verso · 18/07/2008 20:09

LadyThompson you were worried about everyone being thinner than you and you own some SIZE 12 maternity jeans?!! Crikey!!!!

Just been thinking about the meet up, after almost falling asleep (again) on the way home from work tonight. Thing is, I finish work at 5pm - but it takes me an hour and a half to get home - so there's not much point me going home and back for 8pm. So... I will be killing time in town until the meet up. Then, I will be having to leave quite early because of the journey home.

Anyone free to meet for a cup of tea beforehand? I really want to meet everyone - but I think I'm going to end up being a party pooper because of this dratted insomnia!!

rosmerta · 18/07/2008 20:30

Verso, sorry but I'll be at home so won't be able to meet until around 7.30pm.

I don't mind booking something on Monday, I think we said Pizza Express in Covent Garden didn't we?

Sorry for radio silence, girls, I've been away in Dorset for a week.

I'll book the Pizza express on monday. So we are 11? Great.

Verso, I would love to meet you earlier - I'll have to see what time my babysitter can come though and get back to you. If you are fading, could you join us at Pizza Exp just for a quick drink ?

EffiePerine · 20/07/2008 06:45

Verso: I finish at 5ish as well and was also wondering what to do between then and 8ish . Do you want to meet for a cuppa somewhere?

Verso · 20/07/2008 18:35

Hurrah! Yes, chutney and effie - that would be great! I should be able to get into town for 5:30-6pm ish. My DH thinks I may get a second wind (ahem) once out and about in any case - which means I'd stay on at Pizza Express - but I'd love to be able to meet you a bit earlier in case I start flagging a bit. A cup of tea would be splendid! I'll be coming in from West London (where I work) on the District Line so can meet pretty much anywhere that suits...

LadyThompson · 21/07/2008 11:08

Ah but Verso - remember, they don't fit me properly!

I can be in the centre of town for 6 on Friday. If we are going to Covent Garden, what about meeting at Browns on St Martin's Lane? Might be a bit cocktaily but I am sure they do coffees and teas as well. Otherwise, anywhere really...can only really think of places in the centre of town, in Regent's Street and the like, like the top of the George Hotel by Broadcasting house (great views of London). Or there's a cosy place nr Leicester Sq called the Cork & Bottle, but again, it's quite wine-y.

hattyyellow · 21/07/2008 17:16

Oh it's not fair - I want to still live in London and be able to come along .

I remember the days of going out in Covent Garden on a Friday night.

And this Pizza Express talk is making me hungry. I would do a lot right now for some Pizza Express dough balls and garlic bread (still on a major carbs craving).

Have a lovely time!

LadyThompson · 21/07/2008 17:23

Oh, where are you, Hatty? I'll send you the black jeans if you like, to make up for it

hattyyellow · 21/07/2008 17:25

Aw thank you! Up in Yorkshire but I do miss London. Have a lovely night .
